Oh my, you are amazing. You were so joyful and expressive and said what I was thinking-oh, look at that! I am only just starting out and have watched loads of tutorials, but you have inspired me to get going. Keep on teaching; you are a natural.

Your watercolor projects are simply inspiring! 🎨 I love your way of teaching, especially for semi-abstract techniques and wet effects. 🌊 Your approach makes watercolor accessible and fun. Thank you for sharing your expertise and encouraging beginners like me. 🙏 I am happy to subscribe to continue improving and testing these ideas in my own paintings! 😊🩷
I never normally comment on videos but I’m only 12 mins into the video and already blown away by some of these techniques! I’ve only ever used watercolour for loose ink n wash/urban sketch style paintings, and used oil for landscape. I’ve pretty much been working digitally for years now but recently got back in to traditional as it’s more fun than digital any day. I’ve got all of these super granulating Daniel Smith and Schminke and wondered if there may be techniques to get landscapes to the same quality as oils, but I didn’t imagine there would be…. Wow! I can’t wait to try some of these methods you’ve shown tomorrow! Amazing work! Thank you for the tips.
Thank you for this in-depth semi abstract lesson and for demonstrating how to work from a photo and make it semi abstract as well. Valuable lesson for sure! My friends are coming soon to paint for an afternoon and I am definitely going to point them to this video as it will help them so much with growing their beginner skills.

Hi Karen loving your tutorials. I’m new to watercolour painting. Can I ask when you fill your pans with tube paint do they dry out over night or in a few days? Can you reuse them if they dry? I either use pre-filled pans or tube onto a palette but sometimes it takes what seems like forever to get a strong pigment out of a pre-filled pan. Maybe it’s because they are old or not good quality? I’m using pans that are about 40 years old as they were given to me by an artists family when she passed but I love the tin they are in.
Thank you for your lovely comments and welcome to watercolour 😊 Yes I always reuse my paints by just simply wetting them when I come to use them again. I always recommend plastic folding palettes because you won’t waste the paint that you have squeezed out and you can keep it covered in the palette and use it next time by adding water.
Thank you 😊 I used hot pressed paper mostly because the card does not mark the paper as much, so it just glides. When I use the card on rough paper it marks because of the tooth of the paper.

Beautiful! What is the paper please
Thank you 😊

What watercolours would you recommend to start with? There is a very long list in the comments.
