It’s certainly a lot safer especially on trails with the cut-offs as you don’t have to worry about a sudden surge of power when doing low speed manoeuvres around rocks and trees!
The usb battery port on the MX03 is really useful for charging GoPro’s and phones on the go and mean’s I can also use the battery as a power station when camping ⛺️
Wait so the shengmilo mx03 doesnt have brake cut offs? The brakes on mine have 2 cables going from the handles on each side, one is obviously for the hydraulic fluid but i always thought the 2nd one below it was the brake cut off hence why i didnt upgrade my brake system because they are so so bad.

The latest bikes should already have brake cut-offs it's just some of the earlier bikes that were built during lockdown when parts were scarce. The Shengmilo factory where I bought the bike from sent me out the parts when I queried it! You can get spares from them at www.shengmilo-bikes.com/
I bought a 1000w 48v mx-03 the torque of it feels alot less than my girlfriends 350w 36v hub drive. These are supposed to be 90nm my girlfriends cybertrack is rated 50nm also on my screen I'm only getting 9amps at the max only 3-4 on start up. Should be around 20amps. Any ideas?

Hi Ron just wondering if you have a link for the bfang tyres you can see in the video I also replaced the rotor on my front wheel got to the stage where the wheel was rubbing quite a lot but its fine now regards thomas

Hi Ron could you tell me why you have had todo do so many modifications to your bike?I'm looking to get a mx03 however the fact you've replaced so many things like brakes etc scares me
Apart from the brakes most of the modifications were made to improve the ride and gearing as I use it mainly off road on steep rough wet trails rather than for road use. The brakes with shut off and controller were sent out free to be replaced once the original Shengmilo spec parts became available after the pandemic lockdowns as all the global bike manufacturers faced a shortage of parts such as electronics and hydraulic brakes. Hello Ron, I've had issue with my bike after I think water could have gotten into the motor controller. The "pas up" button is not functioning so I can only go from peddal assistance 1 or 0. Would you know how to fix this issue or know of any useful resources to help diagnose the issue? Thanks.
What happened? Is it the controller display or the actual controller behind the wheel that's got water ingress? Have you tried taking the cover off to check the connections and drying them out?

I thought the controller would have something to do with it because when I opened it up it was full of water. I just switched the 'down button' and the 'up botton' on the LCD display by resoldering the wires. This just means I can increase the PAS but not decrease which is fine because I can simply turn off and on the display to reset the PAS to 1.
@@RonWalkerCairngormGuides Well there was some green corrision on the wires which indicated some long exposure time from cycling in the rain and being left outside for some time. But the day it broke I had just given it a quick wash with a sponge, nothing to intrusive, which must have entered the switch (and possibably the controller). To prevent it from happening again I water proofed the controller with some duct tape and superglued the switch.
My MX02 came with cut-off brakes out of the box. It's a must have.

Out of interest how did the water get in, was it pressure hosed, submerged or just left out in the rain?
