    It's cool that you are doing this. Albeit you talk to many of us about safety, and what you can/can't do, this part of the drone business I expected a long time ago (from a military perspective and working with drones way back when). For so many purposes drones will be important to all of us, national security, defense, drug interdiction, medical assistance, etc. You must be having a ton of fun doing this stuff! I still have to follow through with your Part 101 course, but I've been ill. I will do so. Thanks again for such informative videos.

    I've been attempting to build 1 of these for a mini 2. I'm starting to wonder if the mavic 3 dongle would work if I make my own software. Dji locks alot of people of bc of encryptions. It's pathetic really. But it's cheaper for me to just buy a mavic 3 and put the dongle on it but my mini 2 flys for an hour bc of battery mods I've installed.

      Drones fly level & straight-out, they stay at height regardless of distance flown. There's no angle changes had. i.e. there's no rise, no dip, drop or anything else. The drone stays at starting height regardless distance flown. If you force the drone to adjust & correct for claimed globe curvature, it crashes. It crashes no matter how far you extend the distance flown to correct & adjust for claims of physical globe curvature. This is the same for all aircraft. Have a very good day my friend. It’s been around for a long time as a ‘joke’ FOR THE INTERNET and questionable comment and posts..BUT like with anything else, jokes have SOME truth to them. Edited to add: The ‘ABUSE’ FACTOR for this thing seems like it would be off the charts ie, FOR terrorists, etc.

    I am receiving weird messages for aloft when trying to get approval to fly. It said LAANC might not be available. I know the airport that is near me supports LAANC because i have flown many times before. When i click submit it is still accepted. Should i be concerned. I wont be flying that high probably like 10 feet high.

    Ahhhhhh, that's why the FAA wants remote ID !!!!!
    But it's killing the small R/C guy and industry.

    • @PilotInstitute
      @PilotInstitute  2 года назад

      I think the statement that "remote ID is killing RC" is grossly overstated these days. Remote ID is not in place yet, not for another year, there's little indication that the hobby is in danger. More drones are being sold than ever, and the industry is certainly not slowing down.
      It is however probably true that fixed wing RC are fewer than they were, but this is likely because of the massive growth in easier to fly multi rotors.
