It's cool that you are doing this. Albeit you talk to many of us about safety, and what you can/can't do, this part of the drone business I expected a long time ago (from a military perspective and working with drones way back when). For so many purposes drones will be important to all of us, national security, defense, drug interdiction, medical assistance, etc. You must be having a ton of fun doing this stuff! I still have to follow through with your Part 101 course, but I've been ill. I will do so. Thanks again for such informative videos.
there are actually methods in use over there for range and stuff that we wont know about for a while bc they cant talk about it. esp contracter groups. long range without ppl jamming ur signal, crazy cool stuff
I've been attempting to build 1 of these for a mini 2. I'm starting to wonder if the mavic 3 dongle would work if I make my own software. Dji locks alot of people of bc of encryptions. It's pathetic really. But it's cheaper for me to just buy a mavic 3 and put the dongle on it but my mini 2 flys for an hour bc of battery mods I've installed.
Drones fly level & straight-out, they stay at height regardless of distance flown. There's no angle changes had. i.e. there's no rise, no dip, drop or anything else. The drone stays at starting height regardless distance flown. If you force the drone to adjust & correct for claimed globe curvature, it crashes. It crashes no matter how far you extend the distance flown to correct & adjust for claims of physical globe curvature. This is the same for all aircraft. Have a very good day my friend. Be Well & God Bless
So what you’re saying it, I could-FROM MY LIVING ROOM-operate drones around the world and just be the go-to pilot for all kinds of businesses and people without ever taking off my PJs? 🤯🤯🤯
…sadly though, it makes me think of Mom’s “kids in their basement up to no good”. It’s been around for a long time as a ‘joke’ FOR THE INTERNET and questionable comment and posts..BUT like with anything else, jokes have SOME truth to them. Edited to add: The ‘ABUSE’ FACTOR for this thing seems like it would be off the charts ie, FOR terrorists, etc.
Great video Greg. Now I can show this to my friends and family that this is a reality. Whether you like it or not.....Drone Technology will continue to advance.
I can already see the reports of hackers getting into Paladin systems and taking control of active drones from their bedrooms. Pretty interesting though.
That's incredible latency. Even for the video feed, half a second over 1,000 miles?! ... Wow. This would be an absolute boon for firefighters in rural areas, especially in California.
I am receiving weird messages for aloft when trying to get approval to fly. It said LAANC might not be available. I know the airport that is near me supports LAANC because i have flown many times before. When i click submit it is still accepted. Should i be concerned. I wont be flying that high probably like 10 feet high.
Unless there was some new development, that's very old news. The US Government has put DJI on some sort of blacklist for a while and their drones can't be used by federal government agencies.
@@bwandwhitey it's not a fast or easy process and you have to apply for it through the FAA site - in addition you have to be very specific about your particular mission. Also, I believe the drone also has to have certain safety features - but I could be wrong.

I think the statement that "remote ID is killing RC" is grossly overstated these days. Remote ID is not in place yet, not for another year, there's little indication that the hobby is in danger. More drones are being sold than ever, and the industry is certainly not slowing down. It is however probably true that fixed wing RC are fewer than they were, but this is likely because of the massive growth in easier to fly multi rotors.
This isnt really that new honestly, people have been flying Parrot Discos off 4g for at least the last 5 years, no reason you couldnt do this with one of them too assuming you had someone on the other side to launch and monitor it
I thought I saw something similar in concept where potential home buyers could fly a drone through a house for sale to view as their own virtual walk through. This opens so many doors remote way beyond VLOS anywhere in the world potentially

We have indeed having a ton of fun each day seeing this entire industry develop! Thanks for watching!
I'm sure the Ukrainians would love this.

Wow, this whole time I was thinking we would do this with satellites never thinking about cell service. That's incredible!
Musk read your response and is upgrading starlink as I type and opening a drone manufacturing company tomorrow. Lol
@@myfalconry76 He really could do that, he already has thousands in space now lol.

Yes, I was definitely impressed with the latency!!

Will we hear about the Pentagon blacklisting DJI tomorrow?

You jinxed us. Jk. Our government is ridiculous!
That was really neat!!
Where do i buy this dongle from?
How about the data plan? do you just buy ryan reynold's data plan and start flying the drone?
for a quad, this is a whole new idea for bvlos.
Just waiting for a solar-powered drone now that I can slap this on and fly cross-country.
Ya'll should start a new company.... and call it Skynet
haha
What happened to the "LINE-OF-SIGHT" FAA LAW...?
Waivers, any pilot can get one if they do the leg work.
@@adyszel How?
The company, Paladin, applies for waivers to be able to fly beyond visual line of sight.

I really hope it all goes well. Maybe might actually make it. But to bring it back might drain the battery. I wanna see 👀.
next step/level of sUAS operations
Amazing👏
How is that done? What about the battery 🔋??
can you fly a drone from the us to the himalayas
How do you do that without BLVOS cert?
BVLOS
I assume that other guy was keeping eyes on it and controls ready?
Yep, the PIC and VO was on site while we were flying.
Very cool
Had to go from 46% and then 76%?
I feel dumb for asking for how TF was this legal without LOS?
Waivers.
Can i fly used my table
Ahhhhhh, that's why the FAA wants remote ID !!!!!
But it's killing the small R/C guy and industry.

How do you prevent bad actors from using the technology for remote crimes?
Kind of has no real purpose if you need another person there to change the battery. Also when that very person has line of sight with the drone.

You can do this with a dji done or any drone with a 4g mod . Nothing special
