If you crank volume 1 and 2 on ten and lower the gain the amp is very clean with lots of head room and makes a perfect pedal platform. The comment on this in the review is wrong
I suspected it to be so, and also - how about running it into the Orange Pedal Baby through its FX-send and only using its valve preamp? The Pedal Baby is a 100W poweramp and that should give you plenty of volume no matter how you've set the gain knob.
Can any confirm what I read in another review? It sounds like you can turn down the gain internally to create more clean head room: "you can also adjust the mini tube gain trim pot to your liking. I backed mine all the way counter clockwise then turned it 1/3 clockwise and this setting is super quiet with more than enough gain for my playing and you can get some nice cleans out of it this way."
Adding cab ir to fx loop do you come back into fx return or straight to pa? That part confused me. Do you use cab sim out if using cab ir from fx send? Thankyou
Hi, I need to know 3 things about this box: 1) Can it be used as a simple dirt pedal through an actual amp? (NOT a cab, but a combo or head). 2) And if so, can it take other pedals before AND after it, again like a simple dirt pedal? Maybe using the send/return? 3) Can its line out (NOT the speaker cab.sim.) go directly into a PA?
Previous owner here, yes and yes to your question. I ran one into my Supro Surpreme as a dirt pedal, was great. Also ran it through a P.A for a small cafe gig. The Getaway Driver also does this
@@bransonmifsud5019 Thanks. As for using it as a dirt pedal going into the main input of the amp, I'm really annoyed this box doesn't have a bypass but it's always on. I was wondering if that could be a mod, but all over the internet I don't see anybody talking about a bypass... The only way (if I put it at the beginning or the end of my pedalboard) is using 2 ABY pedals: put one ABY before it, that divides the signal through the Stamp vs bypassing the Stamp, so I can switch; and another ABY after it, that rejoins the two signals together.
@@thepilgrimplays I too was miffed at the inability for it to not be bypassed. I believe this product was made to be an emergency rig for artists sans a lot of pedals, or an always on kind of thing. If you want all the functionality and (generally speaking, tone) of the Stamp w/ the ability to bypass, I do recommend the Getaway driver. Have used it both contexts in the my previous comment, works like a charm. The problem is you don't get that "tube" preamp, but c'est la vie
Great demo! Would the Stamp still sound good at low volumes for playing quitely in a flat/apartment? I read one reviewer say it sounded thin at low volumes. Or maybe I can connect the Stamp to my audio interface, then to studio monitors, and control the volume that way?

@@marcuslewitzki4610 that would work fine

It's true. I turned down the trim pot in mine and it has way more headroom now. Stays very clean, so it's now better at taking dirt pedals.

thanks that was a great review, more usefull info than others
That amplifier is the best way to understand how to play through a tube driven amp, way different than a solid state preamp!

Yes
Sweet looking and sounding axe!
how about a preamp pedal in the fx loop of stamp?
Do you mean a poweramp? The Terror Stamp already has a valve preamp.
Any cleans.
Beautiful geetar :-)
😎
What Ibanez model is that?
It's a nice one! 🙌🏻🎸I'm asking the same question.
looks like Ibanez AZ2204 GD
A switchable footswitch to switch ! :D
Demos stinks nowadays. Everybody wants to play very unusual music.
