I missed today's stream but an easy solution, and one CDPR themselves use, is to do a "red glitch" transition while flying in the AV and then simply teleport the player to the casino. Just like when you're entering the Metro, the "red glitch" teleports you inside the cart. A simple and vanilla-style way to avoid fucking around with enterance construction.
I'm glad you removed the pillars in the last minute. The entry area should be open and inviting, and nothing should block the line of sight to the stage imo. I would just add the counter and leave it like that. I would also create the counter in an open way. People are supposed to see it easily so that they give their creds. Something should draw them there. Maybe gold-skinned cashiers?
