Thomas Massie you are a true patriot and amazing example. I wish I could believe your example would be followed but the majority of Americans are brainwashed and want government to take care of them. We should ALL know how to be self sufficient like this.
Wow! I just happened onto this video while searching for off grid living examples and I was blown away by this guy. I can't believe he came out of MIT with such conservative or more like libertarian views. It must be because of his Kentucky upbringing. I would be proud to have him represent my district here in Texas. In doing a little more research on him, I found he is a strong 2nd Amendment supporter as well. No surprise. We are living off grid here in Texas and I would love to have a one on one conversation with him about this as well.
Michael, I just peeked at your youtube channel.. looks like you and I have a very similar setup! Yours is very nice!!! And it was nice of you to document the solar mounts on youtube. I also have Outback charge controllers and inverters, 13kW of panels. When we expanded to 13kW, that finally was the death blow to our 10 year old lead acid batteries. I charged them too fast and the got too hot. They were on their last legs anyway. Just letting you know it's an issue with a system of the size you and I have chosen with lead-acid batteries. I have since switched to a Tesla Model S battery and it can run two, 2 ton geothermal units all night. Here's the first in a series of 4 videos I made about it... ruclips.net/video/qpPYkqpe-Ms/видео.html
I'm so honored to receive a reply from you. I watched all four of the videos and I am amazed at your knowledge and work ethic. I have had several careers in my life with the last one being an IT specialist for our local school district but I don't think I'm prepared for the challenge of adapting a Tesla car battery to my off grid system. I am already 68 years old and a little tired of challenges and ready to relax a little. Besides, half of my FLA battery bank is brand new so I think I'm just going to replace the other half that was used when I purchased it almost 3 years ago now. I have already had 2 cells die in this bank. This will be another $8000 purchase but will put me back up to 3000 amp hours of new batteries. Since you talk KWH most often, I believe this is 144 KWH but of course since we really do not want to drop below 50% state of charge, this is more like 72 KWH. This will get us about 3 days in winter but only a little over one day in summer. Hopefully if I'm still around in 10 years, lithium ion or some other new battery technology will be cheaper and work much better. Thanks for all you do for our country.
Very cool of Thomas Massie to invite us in to his home. The description of "precious" and it's dangers was great. The honesty in explaining the impact it can have on a person and how it can twist their thought process and who they are is real not just something made up in a JR Tolkien novel.
Thomas Massie is the one and only living representative of the kind of people that made this country great in the past by knowing their own land and then bringing that knowledge to Washington. The rest of the ghouls inhabiting those dreary halls now are completely detached from real life.
So I heard about this guy because of his move on the Covid-19 stimulus package. As a fellow engineer I decided to go understand the assumed problem before I conclude on what the root cause is. So I wanted to get to know him a bit more before passing judgement. And after watching this quite frankly, I like the guy. Ironically, he’s living the most liberal (Oregonian type) lifestyle in Kentucky, with all the environmental considerations in his lifestyle, opposite of his republican cronies. But what this is proving to me is that this guy has a working brain and makes decisions like an engineer, benefit to society, unlike his colleagues. However, I’d like to see his positions on other issues that affect groups that are not in his constituents. But for now, from one engineer to another, carry on sir, carry on.
I think Liberal and conservative are 2 things of the past, in many ways both sides are guilty of the same thing. I hope each side can encourage those on there side to right the path. both sides have drifted.
As a fellow engineer with conservative values I loved this video and agree that all cronies are bad, from the RINOs to the Progressives. Show me not what a person says but how a person lives, that is what shows their worth.

Michael, so glad you found our video!
Seems to me he has more liberal views than conservative.
Limited government and individual freedom? Nothing liberal about those views.

Lots of respect for this man we need more like him to lead our great country Thank You Thomas Massie
Kentucky is fortunate to have you on the hill. I,m in Ct which is famous for having senators with their heads up their backsides.
Thomas Massie is the one and only living representative of the kind of people that made this country great in the past by knowing their own land and then bringing that knowledge to Washington. The rest of the ghouls inhabiting those dreary halls now are completely detached from real life.
Regardless of party affiliation, one has to be impressed with this guy. He has a bright political future!
Not if the democrat party has anything to say about it
So I heard about this guy because of his move on the Covid-19 stimulus package.
You are so close to throwing off the shackles that keep you enslaved on the leftist plantation.

Show me not what a person says but how a person lives, that is what shows their worth.
dude run for president u got my vote an i just found u thru utube,
Don't put him in danger , you can get him killed.
I hope this guy can hold on to the center of his balance because as long as he does, he has something to teach and to share with the rest of us.
Best 35:30 min I’ve spent all day. Thanks Tucker, for introducing us to Congressman Thomas Massie. .
Thomas Massie and Rand Paul Kentucky must be doing something right
Rand is not half the man his father was, but Massie is definitely close to Ron.
@@gabbyk1391 true, but his father is at least least 3 times the average man, who is himself at least 3 times the average senator.
@@roflchopter11 Yeah, it's a shame the people who are really in power never gave him a chance. They don't want a better world for the common man, they only want a better world for themselves.
Mic Drop. God bless you, Congressman Thomas Massie. You're an inspiration. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you. - Thomas Massie
Who’s here after seeing his interview with Tucker Carlson?
🫡

Now, I’m going back to finish Tucker’s interview…😊
I love this dude! We need more people in the world like this guy!
I love and admire this man - such an example for everyone - specially politicians
Thomas Massie is a national treasure
One of the best documentaries I have ever seen! I love your farm, your fuel burning stove is awesome. Thank you for letting us take a look into your home and educating us on the politics of DC. You are truly a role model that I am very proud to subscribe to.
Thank you, spread the word!
Love this man ! Highest Respect !😊
I love this guy, a common sense man!!! Lord gives us more like him.
Absolutely love this. I don’t have a handy bone in my body and it’s my loss. I sure wish this spirit for my grandkids.
I shared this video on Facebook as a way to encourage people that live in communities such as mine (Amelia, VA.). To have more interest in getting more involved with their local government. This video is very informative and well done. I really enjoyed watching it and hope all my Facebook friends will too. Thank you for allowing many people that have no idea what living in the country, raising their own food and enjoy the freedom to do so, to see how important it is to be involved beyond the voting booth. I would also like to say that I am a Trump supporter and proud of it as it has brought all of Gollum's ancestors out into the open for all to see how they behave when their "Precious" is slowly being taken away from them.
His story about the people standing up and giving him their time made me cry!
My 6x great grandfather was Dr. Major Thomas Massie. I feel like we're connected not because of your name, but because of what's in your heart.
Thank you for your service and example, we need you at the helm. I’m so sorry for your loss of your wonderful wife. God bless you.
That was great. We need more congressmen like him.
So much respect for this guy!
Your parents deserve a metal. You are an amazing man.
I had slow cooked grassfed and finished beef brisket today with my family. Slow and low was amazing. Great work on this Documentary, so inspiring to watch proactive people that are really making a difference and living it. keep it up:)
Thanks, spread the word!
My kind of guy. Wish there were more like him.
Most of the huge number of them aren't so obvious because they're more busy living their own life rather than dictating the lives of others.
It definitely seems like there's so little.
We have to be that guy.
Thank you for sacrificing by spending time away from your dream to help us to stay free to pursue our dreams, as well. It's nice getting to know you on more of a personal level for a change.
Massie is a different breed. One of the only persons in government with both a brain and a heart. He is me, I am him. God bless him and his family.
I love Thomas Massie!❤️❤️❤️
