this song was amazing but even more amazing was randomly hearing tre cool singing about masturbation after about 15 minutes of silence because you forgot to turn off the album
I used to listen to this album on repeat reading my Halo books but would always skip this song because of how slow and quiet it was in contrast to the rest of the album. I had never heard it all the way through. (Little did I know it's probably the loudest one on the album lol) Then one day I was at a particularly intense part and let's just say a character sacrifices himself to save his friends and uses a nuke to take out an army. This song was playing and the scene was so good I didn't even think to change it. As soon as he said his peace and triggered the bomb this song LET LOSE and for the first time I really heard this song and with everything going on in it and the book I was floored, blown away! This song instantly, not only became my favorite Green Day song of all time, but my favorite song period...and I had been sleeping on it. Kinda glad I did though cause that moment was very special

Dookie is their best, no doubt their have a collection of great albums, but there is something special about Dookie that I can't tell. I guess the power of its music and the melodies make a perfect match, there are plenty of powerflul bands but they don't have great melodies, a killer bass and explosive drums. I guess there are plenty of records that aged well but there are few that aged as gracefully as Dookie, never outdated or outgrown, a high-voltage album with highly powerful singalong melodies, like the Beatles, but 10k times better.
