Rey is without a doubt the best Luchador/Cruiserweight in the history of this business, there have been other many amazing worker’s but Rey always had the edge on them, the Mask, the crazy athleticism, the likable character, everything was perfect with Rey imo

He did moves WCW television that was never seen before on live nationally broadcast wrestling shows in the United States. He SINGLE HANDEDLY brought the lucha libre style of wrestling into the American mainstream. Mind you, Eddie and Benoit and psychosis and juvi and Jericho were all having CLASSIC matches in the ring but it was in Japan, it was in Mexico, it was everywhere else except the USA and Canada. Rey is responsible for bringing that to us in America. Why? It’s because he NEVER had a bad match under that mask. Every time Rey was on TV, he KILLED it. I recently rewatched a world war three match with Eddie and ultimo dragon and it was not great. Their timing was off the pacing was not there and it came off as awkward. Go watch it. Ww3 from 1996 I believe, and if not ww3 it was starrcade of that year. I’m watching these two greats and I was thinking “damn, how did I not see how mediocre this match was at the time?” I watched that live on ppv as a teenager and I didn’t see it at the time just how clunky and off they were in the ring. With Rey, you NEVER saw that. The Halloween havoc match with Eddie is still a 6 star match to this day and I don’t know a modern match that could stand up to that right now. Rey is on par with (if not greater than) el santo as the single greatest largest all time best luchador that ever existed.
Rey was one of the main reasons I watched WCW. The Undercard was Everything. Eddie, Jericho, Raven, Saturn, Juvi, Alex and Konnan always kept me entertained. But towards the end of WCW (99-00) I went to see their Phila show and it wasn't good. Those Thunders were brutal.
Loved these guys. I remember having to run to best buy for work in a mostly latin area outside DC and Rey was there with Batista. The line was around the building

Say whatever you want about Disco regardless of what anyone thinks he has a great mind when it comes to soaking in wrestling knowledge. Majority of the stuff he talks about based off his experiences throughout his career seem legit. At first he came across to me as if he was being bias but when I got to listen to him more especially during full shoots/episodes he shares a lot of interesting stories and details that make me look back in hindsight and get exactly what he's talking about or make some sort of logical sense/give me a better understanding of the business or events that took place. I did a small bar show in Chillicothe Ohio one night that had like 15 people there. 3-4 guys in the front row were heckling the boys all night and calling their stuff weak. I got out there and, after shining up my babyface, sat in a chin lock for about five minutes staring right at those guys. Got a huge pop from the boys and those guys didn’t say shit for the rest of the night. So yeah, small shows are way worse. You’re more intimate with the crowd which makes it way harder to ignore the bad eggs.

If Tony Kahn was an actual Booker. He would have put Omega as a top, SERIOUS main event player from the start and kept him FAR away from all the multi-man tag and Young Bucks comedy B.S. It devalued him, & some wrestlers need to be saved from themselves. In New Japan, Omega had a guy like GEDO who, positioned Kenny as a top singles wrestler with great build-up.
