I guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
When the worlds at stake is an absolutely phenomenal song. Like… Jeff blim really wrote a song about a mother’s inner conflict about how she never wanted to have a kid in the first place and the struggles of being a teen mom and how now all she wants is for her daughter to have a better life than she can giver her and in the same musical he wrote a song about a disease that causes violent diarrhea
When The World’s At Stake made me cry the first time I heard it. While I wasn’t a teen mom, I was just barely in my 20s, and my oldest kiddo was NOT planned. I luckily only had to do the single mom thing for a few months before I met the awesome man I ended up marrying, but I vividly remember the terror I felt the entire pregnancy, right up until she was born and I found that crazy mom strength. Idk how in the hell Jeff Blim managed to capture that, but he did it perfectly.
The whole "I played Tony in Independence Community Theeatre's production of West Side Story" bit was completely improvised by Joey. Each show, he says something different during that part, which is why you can see Jamie and Jeff trying to hold back their laughter at that part. If you scour RUclips you can find some outtakes from different nights where he says different things (there's also a very funny outtake from the song Independence where Joey forgets the words and just repeats "ho ho ho" for like 10 seconds that I highly recommend watching)
Joey actually did the fart sounds live on stage. The camera doesn’t show it but Joey is stood to the side making the noises with his mouth and he basically just had to freestyle each night to the movement of whoever was dying. Jeff does some BOLD moves in his death and trusts Joey a lot to add the appropriate noises
I feel like Jeff was the only one just moving and Joey having to add sounds, for the other deaths it felt very much the either way round - aka Joey going crazy with the fart noises and the others having to adjust their singing and movements to that. Which I personally think, worked better as in the result was more put together. ^^
The reason Jeff got excited about the name Jack Bauer is because there was a character in previous drafts of the show with that name. The other show had dysentery zombies and time travel!
the thing at the end, they had a voting thing in the lobby during intermission labeled "choose your favorite charecter" and whoever won dies also joey improvised the west side story line, it was different every night!
Ah, that explains things. One day I decided to find out the names people chose for each show, it showed the people who died on each night as well. I was so shocked by the amount of Mother and Son deaths and I was appalled to think of the amount of people who chose to kill them off. Now it makes sense to me.
You need to do Spies are Forever too!! It's not Starkid but Tin Can Bros so basicly the same people... SaF is soooooo good!!!!!! Edit: It stars Curt Mega (Nick-Glee), Mary Kate Wiles (Lydia Bennet-LBD), Joe Walker (Voldemort & Umbridge-AVPM), Brian Rosenthal (Quirrel-AVPM), Joey Richter, Tessa Netting, Lauren Lopez and Al Fallick (I gave up on roles either too many or I don't know what you know...)
Spies are forever is honestly my latest lockdown obsession haha I've watched and listened to it so many times over the last few months. Joey, curt and the whole cast are so talented, I wish we got to see more of Curt in other productions because he's amazing!
+Little Gem even Nick himself doesn't like the show, and it got a really bad review when it first opened, calling it the worst musical of the year (so basically that person is on my hit list)
Jeff Blim is a true enigma...he really wrote When The World’s At Stake, this gorgeous heartfelt hard hitting ballad but also wrote the lyrics “gonna puke all that goo right in your mouth where you food”. Incredible.
Isn't that a requirement of StarKid songwriters? ;) There's A.J. Holmes, with If I Believed and Missing You, but also Gotta Find His Dick and No One Remembers Achmed. Then there's Darren Criss, with Home and Not Alone, but also The Dragon Song and Hermione Can't Draw. Mark Swiderski and Meredith Stepien with What If and Together, but also Ouch My Butt and Duck Is Lord. Nick Gage with Holy Musical B@man and Dark, Sad, Lonely Knight, but also Dynamic Duet and Robin Sucks. And finally, we have Clark Baxtresser and Pierce Siebers who wrote When I Was and Long Ago and Far Away, but also Get In My Mouth and Not So Bad (technically not StarKid, but I'll let it slide).
When there is no comment yet talking about "when we went to the performance Mouthface was called Wagon Caulk, so it went 'caulk your wagon, WagonCaulk tttttt'" so I'll be that one - even though I wasn't there. You're welcome
There's a video from I think bread roll called "Jeff Blim terrifying me" or something along those lines. He scares all of us, especially Jon, don't worry
OK I watched it now. Just to give some background info, this show is based on an educational video from the 80s/90s called The Oregon Trail. In it you would pick a name for your family members, a profession (farmer/banker/carpenter, which would give you various advantages or disadvantages in the game), and then set off on the trail from Missouri to Oregon. There would be a bunch of obstacles throughout, like rivers, etc., and you had to hunt for food and replenish supplies, etc. The game could also randomly kill off your oxen or a family member due to disease, and the most well-remembered is dysentery, which is why it's so prominent in the show. If you've played the game before, the show is *full* of game references. They also added the audience participation as a reference to the games, though in-game you don't get to pick which family member dies. Hope that helps! Great reactions! Rachel's solo in this is my favorite Starkid song *ever.*
Oregon Trail was my favorite game. Played it all the time. My favorite part was trying to see how long you could go by making the absolute worst choices.
Actually the whole show involved a lot of audience participation, the character names were all actually improvised by the audience and the audience chose who died each night. Based off the video game Oregon Trail, which was inspired by the real life event of the Oregon Trail in the US in the 1830's,
i ADORE rachael as the Mother in this musical. so much. she’s wonderful. “when the world’s at stake” is one of my favorite starkid songs, period. rachael pours every ounce of who she is into that performance and we truly don’t deserve it
My favourite of the deaths is Daughter cos a. Jamie is a master of physical comedy and b. there's a twist at the end that it so great! Also I love that all the farts are Joey at the side of the stage blowing raspberries on his arm xDD
Son/Lauren's monologue about putting stuff in their mouth is one of my favorites - that is the essence of every young child and dog in the history of ever XD. My favorite parts: - "It's like asking why I throw supplies off the back of the wagon when I'm bored. Is it to watch how stuff bounces?" - "I'm experiencing a lot of things for the first time and I have to figure it out by trial and error... and putting it in my mouth." - "I mean, he knew the rules, he played the game. I respect him for that." Like, you would never know that was actually a woman in her late 20s because it's so convincing. Also, love "Speedrun."
I’d love for you to react to Ani, it’s the only StarKid show under one million views (at the moment). It’s based on Star Wars, but I’ve never even seen any of the films and it’s my favourite show. It’s got INCREDIBLE music, literally some of the best in any StarKid show (at least I think), it’s hilarious and the plot is so heartwarming yet it’s so underrated and nobody every speaks about it in the fandom 💕
okay but when its already your favorite show than you simply HAVE to watch the star wars movies (especially 1-3) because it makes everything so much funnier!
yay, i‘m here for the ani love! i started a campaign on twitter to help get it to 1 million views under the hashtag #GetAniBackOnTop. we‘re doing a dance compilation for back on top if you’re interested in joining :)
I went to the show on one of the filming nights and they had us stick around after the show so that they could film one of the alternate endings. They finished "you gotta go" and joey left the stage and they continued on with the scene. They kept going and it came time for Joey to re-enter and he came rushing in half-dressed and yelled "I DIDN'T KNOW WE WERE GOING THIS FAR!" It was wonderful.
So that audience picked who would die nightly. They had 5 jars in the lobby and every person in the audience got one vote that had to be placed by intermission. P.S. Daughter's death is HANDS DOWN the best. You have to watch the way she comes back to life cus it's the only one that was worked into the show early.
Ok couple things about Oregon: 1) it’s based on The Trail to Oregon online game that simulates the journey pioneers took to Oregon and in the game you type in all the names of the people in your wagon which is why the audience gets to choose the names. It’s also really easy to die in the game which is why there’s a voter death in the show! 2) When they did the shows live, the audience voted by ballots to choose which character would die so it was different every time. They just filmed every possible ending for the RUclips version 3) Jeff was so excited by the Jack Bauer name suggestion bc he loved Jack Bauer, so much so that an earlier draft had him as a character so it was exciting that that would be his name in the filmed version lol 4) During the dysentery death scene what you can’t see is Joey off to the side making all the fart noises himself lmao 5) You should 1000% watch the blooper video for Trail to Oregon, it’s on the Starkid channel and it’s just Joey messing up in a million different silly ways, it’s wonderful
I like how I at first thought “Amy has never played Oregon Trails/The Trail to Oregon? How? Didn’t she get to play it in schoo- Oh.” And actually just had a moment to realize. The Oregon Trail is a game based on the actual Oregon Trail, an event in *American* history. Of course, Amy isn’t going to know what it is! That would be the equivalent of us knowing and playing a video game based on the founding of the United Kingdoms. I don’t know, I just thought that was a really interesting minor detail. I love seeing differences in culture, especially as one of those quirky Americans with all sorts of different things so I wanted to share my thoughts here.
It's true, Amy wouldn't know about The Oregon Trail game because it's an American thing. But I do have to correct your analogy. There ARE video games (and board games, actually) based around the conquering of Britain (and other places) that Americans play. For example: Crusader Kings (II), Risk, the Civilization series. Those are the ones I can think of and there are probably many others. They may not be based on the "founding" of it specifically, but they definitely follow history and allow you to basically do what the conquering nations (Britain, France, Spain, etc) did **shrug**
+preparedfordementors1123 That’s fair, I haven’t played those games but I’ve heard of some of them (I actually didn’t know Risk was a game based on Europe’s history; that’s pretty neat.) Thank you for your thoughts/correction, I guess I was trying to put it more in a sense that many Americans have played Oregon Trails because it’s implemented into our schools to help us learn that history (of course, not every school does this but there are many that do so.) The game is known so well because we all played it at an early age, making us more familiar with it and it’s many quirks. So, while one can play a game based on Europe and the invasions involved with that history; an American would be more likely to recognize Oregon Trails than those other games. Hopefully I explained that well without sounding rude. 😅
Masquerade No worries. I’ve also never played any of those games (although I am considering trying out Crusader Kings). Idk if Risk is actually based on Europe’s history for sure, but I do know that it’s all about conquering the world, which is what European nations tried to do. For my personal experience, my school had The Oregon Trail, but it wasn’t really used as a teaching tool. (If it had been, maybe I would have gotten to play it more.) Between that and this baseball game that I can’t remember the name of, it was on our classroom computer, but only those who got to use the computer got to play it, which means I only got to play it for like 2 seconds, since everyone else used the computer and I didn’t have the chance to. I know the game and its quirks, as you say, but I never actually played the game. So you do have a point (I’m not trying to counteract your explanation at all), but I just wanted to share my experience 😊
Here's a little Fun Fact for people who may not know, Amy included: Trail To Oregon was put on in 2014. One year later, in 2015, Starkid put the show on again for a four day run in New York City, marking the first, and only, time a Starkid Production has gotten a full run in New York City thus far. A good friend of mine lives in New York and attended one of the showings. For this particular showing, the audience decided to name the Daughter: Brian Holden. And, as luck would have it, Brian Holden was, in fact, backstage. So he decided to have some fun and when they came back from Intermission, instead of Jaime coming out to sit on the wagon to prepare for her solo number, the curtains pulled back and Brian Holden himself was sitting there. Joey walked out on the stage as McDoon, took one look at Brian and, as McDoon, went, "Who the Hell are you?!" Brian was like, "I'm Brian Holden, The Child Bride. Let's do this!" Obviously, Brian eventually left and Jaime came out to continue the show. But man I wish someone had recorded that moment and put it on RUclips.
So Oregon Trail was a legendary game when I was a kid. It was edumacational and fun as hell. The entire show referencing bankers, killing way more animals than you could possibly carry, dying of dysentery, fording/caulking/floating the wagon are all things that happen in the game. Most of the time you would lose half your party if not the entire party on your way especially if you got unlucky with river crossings (let's be serious, nobody ever used the ferry). This show is one giant meme for kids who grew up in the US in the 90s and it's glorious. Also Joey is unbelievably great in this show, just sayin
So I wanted to kind of explain the whole ending thing. Just like how they had the audience pick the character names each night, they also had the audience vote during intermission as to who was going to die. So the cast had to be ready for all 5 endings each night.
I’m not sure if anyone’s said something about the deaths yet, but each night, before the show, they had the audience members vote for who they wanted to die at the end (I’m not entirely sure about this but I remember hearing that the audience didn’t know the characters before they voted on who was going to die). I believe they filmed all of the deaths over the course of two nights. One night, they ended up having the Ox die, and apparently it was filmed but the video probably won’t be released at this point unfortunately :( I hope this helps for anyone wondering!!
Most people seem to hate Trail To Oregon but it is one of my absolute faves, Its one of their productions that I only don't like about 2 of the songs in it, the rest I love
I'm sure that other folks have explained how the show worked already, but in the off chance that they haven't, they had the audience name each character and the family's last name each night, and then during intermission the audience voted on which family member would die that night. They filmed the 5 different endings over I think 2 nights of shows so I believe the people who attended filming nights got to see multiple endings!! One of my dear friends who I met through the Starkid fandom lived in Chicago and went to a ton of TTO performances and she would always ask us for names to shout out for the characters! Our favorite was she named someone (maybe the mother?) "douche-canoe" and apparently the Starkids loved it. I remember when they first announced how the show would work I was just SO impressed, and I think it's a really unique idea to have audience participation in live theatre like this. I can only imagine how much practice it took to be able to fit essentially any name into the songs! Loving the videos by the way and so glad you've been enjoying Starkid. It's been a part of my life for 8ish years now and it's such a joy to watch someone experience them for the first time :)
Everytime I watch Trail to Oregon I am reminded of how according to Jeff Blim, time travel was a significant aspect of the plot about two months before opening night
Hi Amy! I noticed that you were having trouble understanding some of the backstory of this show, so perhaps I can help: The Oregon Trail was a popular early computer game in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Due to its historical basis, the game was frequently used in American schools and as such an entire generation of American children grew up playing it frequently. The game is set in the 1800's and involves creating a family / party and trying to get them from Independence, Missouri on the east coast of the U.S., to Oregon on the west coast. Players got to name their family members as well as pick the general profession the family was involved in (Farming, Banking, or Carpentry ). This is the basis for the interactive parts of the show, as well as Jeff's joke about the family being Farmers because " ...I wrote the show... and that's just how this one goes." The game was notoriously difficult and few people ever successfully made it to Oregon due to the many dangers along the way. Players had to carefully choose what supplies to buy and what to try to acquire on the way, as well as what pace to travel at and how to handle certain obstacles along the way. These choices affected the ability of the family members to survive due to risk of starvation, disease, or other hazards. The game is particularly famous for a large portion of players losing either because they tried to fjord (cross) a river and died, or because the members of the family contracted Dysentery. The Speedrun song (and the line in Jaime's song about "crank up its pace to fast") is a reference to many players who would further challenge themselves by attempting to complete the game as fast as possible, with their families frequently dying in the process due to being overburdened by a lack of supplies and rest. If you have any more questions I'd be happy to help answer them!
One small correction on this 2 year old comment. Independence, Missouri is not on the east coast of the US. It is almost directly in the center. In the state of Missouri. What that starting point actually depicted was one of the eastmost points of the purchased Louisiana territory that the US acquired from France decades after the founding of the actual nation. The city most associated with this purchase and the subsequent burst of American pioneers out west is St. Louis, Missouri. Most famous for its monument of the Gateway Arch. A massive metal archway representing St. Louis' status as the "Gateway to the West" as it was the launching point for many travelers including the famous explorers Lewis and Clark. Most of the traditional Oregon trail travelers followed after these travelers from the further west Independence, Missouri about 30 years afterwards when the trail had been slightly more established. (Apologies for the long winded comment. I am invested as I am from St. Louis myself.)
The jack bauer name thing is actually a reference to the original draft of The Trail To Oregon, where (I'm pretty sure) the main character was supposed to be named jack bauer and the storyline was completely different. Its talked about in a video called "Unsung Starkid"
Starship is my favorite Starkid musical by far just because I'm a sucker for stuff that makes me feel like a kid again, and Starship is so silly, lighthearted, and childish that it just allows me to smile! Got a kickass soundtrack too ;)
This is one of my favorites... It's just pure starkid chaos and always reminds me of why I love them all so much. Also I think that it has some of the best songs that highlight those specific actors voices... like Wagon on Fire is just phenomenal! Also Joey in the whole show is just amazing. I can see why you were confused at the beginning lol if you've never played Oregon Trail and don't know what it's based off of I can see why you'd be confused for a hot second. But I appreciate how you just roll with it
To answer some of your questions, yes, the audience each night chose who died! I don't know if they polled the audience at intermission or asked them in that moment, but the audience would choose who died every night. If anyone was interested, there's a record of every performance's character names and who died at talkingoregon(.)tumblr(.)com/names. Additionally in case anyone didn't know, the show is based on the game Trail to Oregon, where you can name everyone in your wagon party and it is very common for someone (or everyone) in the party to die of dysentery, which is why the audience gets to choose the names and who dies. They wanted to make it feel more like you were playing the game or watching the game come to life.
I just want to say how much I appreciate these reaction videos and the amazing job you do with editing it down to the highlights. You're so lovely and sweet.
“I played tony in a production of west side story” was improvised which is why it caught Jeff blim so off guard. He had a little improvised monologue every night.
In one playthrough of Oregon Trail, I had one person left and I tried to ford the river. My last ox died halfway through and I lived on my provisions in the middle of the river for a year, and then died. I was wondering the other day how Amy would react to this show without any experience with the game, and voila! Thanks, Amy!
I think you should do Black Friday, personally its my favorite of their shows, Twisted is technically better but I fell in love with Black Friday. The choreography and the lighting are spectacular, if you're into theories there is so much goddamn theory material, all the performances are great. Its just all around an amazing show Starship is also really good though. Lots of great puppets, Joey in the lead role is always something I need more of, and its got some of their best songs
6:35- Interesting bit of trivia, that line was supposed to be 'blood', not 'mud', basically referring to tea bagging a corpse. Supposedly, that long pause was the actor realizing he got the line wrong and someone in the back just signaled him to keep going.
So glad to see you back with Starkid! Definitely think you should check out Spies are Forever, the music is incredible and it's a little more mature than some of their work (it's Tin Can Bros who are a separate company with a lot of the same people).
People probably already explained this to you, but back in 1975 a computer video game came out called OREGON after the original unpublished version, The Oregon Trail. This was a point-click game where you could name the wagon party of travelers, and had to make it down the trail without any of your party members dying. There are several ways to die. Bitten by a snake, starvation, being too cold, getting a disease. But the point was to make it to Oregon without casualties, or at least having one party member left. Often times you had to ford the river, and drive the wagon through a fast running river. The musical at the beginning explains the feel of this by allowing each show to be customizable. Sometimes they might forget each other's names, which is why they are often spoken aloud during the show. It was a great way to relive my childhood game from the early 2000's as the game was updated and re-released multiple times between 1980 and 2009.
also such good song lyrics! like in the first song it's "pay attention dad" and "i dont ever wanna kill an animal - yout wont have to" and then the son HAS to shoot the animals and in the act1 finale lauren sings "you shouldve paid attention dad" !! love ittttt
I would recommend Black Friday next just because there’s a ton of TGWDLM references that might be confusing. I personally didn’t like the soundtrack too much on first listen but it grew on me so much when I rewatched it! Definitely an entertaining watch
Feel free to disagree but I think the order to watch the last 4 should be: Ani next (it was done the same time as TTTO so it makes sense). Then M&MD honestly because I don’t think she’ll like it a lot and I want the series to end on a high. Then Starship probably the best of “old shows” and honestly could be broadway standard. And finish Starkid with Black Friday, the the most recent and plus having the most time between that and TGWDLM is honestly what I can advise. And then obviously move on to the Tin Can Bros shows!
If you want to add the TCB I think you should put SAF before Black Friday. Idk about Solve It Squad or Flopstoppers (is she gonna react to those too??)
I first watched the trail to oregon before I had ever heard of the oregon trail game so naturally I just assumed that the writers had taken a lot of drugs and then farted out this musical. I tried to search it on google a year later because I wanted to rewatch it but misremembered the title as "oregon trail" so then I found information about the game and realised the show was a parody of that, not purely a fever dream I'd had when I was ill one time. It made a lot more sense on the second watch through, though it remains iconically weird.
Trail to Oregon is one of my favorite Starkid shows. It's so funny, the acting is great, and Jeff and co. did an amazing job with the songs. And if you want to know, it's based off a video game called The Oregon Trail. Basically, you would create a wagon party and buy supplies and have them travel across the country by wagon. Along the way you would have to go hunting and fishing for food, you would ford rivers, and make decisions that would affect whether or not your wagon party would survive. You won if your party made it to Oregon alive (and hopefully not missing any limbs or with any diseases.) It was a fun way to teach kids about the U.S. historical time period of Westward Expansion.
Alright it’s time for _fUn FaCtS tHaT nO oNe AsKeD fOr_ 1. One night, instead of saying “Mike’s Hard Lemonade” Joey said “Mook’s Hard Lemonade” 2. The piano player in the background is Clark Baxtresser, the Adonis from Firebringer 3. Joey’s line at 12:02 was improved every night which is why they started laughing 4. For the filming night they did all of the endings but normally they’d have some kind of poll that the audience members would vote on before the show started 5. Joey did the fart noises with his mouth, they weren’t prerecorded 6. In an early draft of the show, Jack Bauer was going to be a character which is why Jeff was so happy when someone said that name 7. Apparently Joe Walker was the one who yelled Mouthface I don’t have a whole lot of trivia for this show so that’s all for now! I will say that you have GOT to watch Spies Are Forever, it’s from Tin Can Bros which was created by Joey Richter, Brian Rosenthal and another Starkid member, Corey Lubowich. It’s just amazing! Please, please watch it!!
Amy!!! I loved this! I was having a hard week and this totally made me feel better! It’s so fun watching someone enjoy something I love so much. Your Starkid videos have been such a light in quarantine! Starship is my favorite after the HP ones!
Fun fact: the part after Joey's fudged note was improvised each night
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!

When the worlds at stake is an absolutely phenomenal song. Like… Jeff blim really wrote a song about a mother’s inner conflict about how she never wanted to have a kid in the first place and the struggles of being a teen mom and how now all she wants is for her daughter to have a better life than she can giver her and in the same musical he wrote a song about a disease that causes violent diarrhea

Amy: other than one song, there's not much toilet humor
Me: *Honey, you got a big storm coming*
I cackled when she said that 😂
you could even say a sh*tstorm....
literally
I can't read this in any other voice than that woman in the acting workshop.
"His voice is so lovely" *two seconds later* "SpReAd OuR fAmIly sEeD"
It’s still lovely

The reason Jeff got excited about the name Jack Bauer is because there was a character in previous drafts of the show with that name. The other show had dysentery zombies and time travel!
Well, that and Jeff just loves Jack Bauer
@Alexis. _ and at one time it had all of those things.
I love how this version is the calmed down sane version of the story that lives in his brain.

I really hope she does Spies! Especially with that one scene at the end.
So true!!!
She definitely will love spies! ( p.s if you want to see someone react to it another youtuber reacted to it recently called behind the curve)

Do Starship! It’s one of my favorites, and it’s really underrated in the community, but it’s soooooo good!!!
Imo it also has the most underrated soundtrack. Kick It Up a Not h is my favourite Starkid song of all time
Twenty Øne Cheers for Sweet REEvenge Kick it up a notch is by far my favorite villain song
I dont know why it isnt loved more!! The soundtrack slaps and the puppetry is so well done with good jokes and a solid plot!!
+Little Gem even Nick himself doesn't like the show, and it got a really bad review when it first opened, calling it the worst musical of the year (so basically that person is on my hit list)
Starship is too long and has a few flaws but it's def one of my favourites and Kick it up a Notch is amazing
There's lots to learn

Number Five sorry, I'm new. What?
Thank you so much for the explanation. I've never heard of it.
“I’ve been sitting here while Joey’s playing, um, McSwoon...”
My favorite part of the video

Jeff Blim is a true god of chaos
The five Gods of Chaos: Khorne, Tzeech, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Jeff
Actually the whole show involved a lot of audience participation, the character names were all actually improvised by the audience and the audience chose who died each night. Based off the video game Oregon Trail, which was inspired by the real life event of the Oregon Trail in the US in the 1830's,
i ADORE rachael as the Mother in this musical. so much. she’s wonderful. “when the world’s at stake” is one of my favorite starkid songs, period. rachael pours every ounce of who she is into that performance and we truly don’t deserve it
If I was going to their wedding, I would sing “Granger Danger” with Bonnie Socha

My favourite of the deaths is Daughter cos a. Jamie is a master of physical comedy and b. there's a twist at the end that it so great!
Also I love that all the farts are Joey at the side of the stage blowing raspberries on his arm xDD
That's my favourite too because she does the best "No! Put me down!" Makes me laugh every time.
Son/Lauren's monologue about putting stuff in their mouth is one of my favorites - that is the essence of every young child and dog in the history of ever XD. My favorite parts:
- "It's like asking why I throw supplies off the back of the wagon when I'm bored. Is it to watch how stuff bounces?"
- "I'm experiencing a lot of things for the first time and I have to figure it out by trial and error... and putting it in my mouth."
- "I mean, he knew the rules, he played the game. I respect him for that."
Like, you would never know that was actually a woman in her late 20s because it's so convincing.
Also, love "Speedrun."
I think you should watch Black Friday whilst TGWDLM is still kind of fresh in your brain due to the references in the show!
Independence is basically a spoiler of the rest of the show and I love that
I’d love for you to react to Ani, it’s the only StarKid show under one million views (at the moment).
And Talkfine, and Nick Lang....just that
okay but when its already your favorite show than you simply HAVE to watch the star wars movies (especially 1-3) because it makes everything so much funnier!
Alice Swayer I plan on it! Actually mean one of my favourites but point still stands. I just always find it pay attention to films aha.
yay, i‘m here for the ani love! i started a campaign on twitter to help get it to 1 million views under the hashtag #GetAniBackOnTop. we‘re doing a dance compilation for back on top if you’re interested in joining :)
I agree!! Ani is the dark sheep of the Starkid fandom, and it's so good. Criminally underrated
Fun fact! Joe Walker wasn't in the show however he was in charge of the captions. He definitely had fun during the death scenes at the end
So that audience picked who would die nightly. They had 5 jars in the lobby and every person in the audience got one vote that had to be placed by intermission.
P.S. Daughter's death is HANDS DOWN the best. You have to watch the way she comes back to life cus it's the only one that was worked into the show early.
It was such a great pay off to that earlier bit, plus Jaime is hilarious. I agree, best version of that scene.
Am British, can confirm
So you do have a point (I’m not trying to counteract your explanation at all), but I just wanted to share my experience 😊
i go to a british school and we learn american history, and have played the oregon trail (1/4 of our history gcse was about the american west)

Amy: I really wanted that to be a big solo number for Jaime!
Me: oohhhhh its coming!
So I wanted to kind of explain the whole ending thing. Just like how they had the audience pick the character names each night, they also had the audience vote during intermission as to who was going to die. So the cast had to be ready for all 5 endings each night.
You absolutely have to watch Spies Are Forever! It's from Tin Can Bros but it has maaaaany Starkids in it
When dysentery world is your favorite song but amy says she doesn't like it
YOUR WAGON IS ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Sabrina Crippen your wagon is on fire
I’m not sure if anyone’s said something about the deaths yet, but each night, before the show, they had the audience members vote for who they wanted to die at the end (I’m not entirely sure about this but I remember hearing that the audience didn’t know the characters before they voted on who was going to die). I believe they filmed all of the deaths over the course of two nights. One night, they ended up having the Ox die, and apparently it was filmed but the video probably won’t be released at this point unfortunately :( I hope this helps for anyone wondering!!
omg they actually had the ox dying? that sound soo funny ngl (although this sentence sounds pretty weird out of context lmao)
2:20 Amy: “Hmmm Jeff Blim has such a lovely voice ☺️”
Jeff Blim: “...AND SPREAD OUR FAMILY SEAD!” 🤣
Most people seem to hate Trail To Oregon but it is one of my absolute faves, Its one of their productions that I only don't like about 2 of the songs in it, the rest I love
The whole dysentery thing is a big meme from the game so it’d be kinda weird if they didn’t have that be a part of the show tbh
ahhhhh! we don't have the game in the uk so I didn't know that! makes sense!
Hi Amy! I noticed that you were having trouble understanding some of the backstory of this show, so perhaps I can help:
The Oregon Trail was a popular early computer game in the late 1980's and early 1990's.
This is the basis for the interactive parts of the show, as well as Jeff's joke about the family being Farmers because " ...I wrote the show... and that's just how this one goes."
The game was notoriously difficult and few people ever successfully made it to Oregon due to the many dangers along the way.
Ooh thank you - that was super helpful!!!

6:35- Interesting bit of trivia, that line was supposed to be 'blood', not 'mud', basically referring to tea bagging a corpse. Supposedly, that long pause was the actor realizing he got the line wrong and someone in the back just signaled him to keep going.
ahhh haha that makes a LOT more sense!!!!

Omg you are so right about Lauren looking like Amanda Bynes in She's the Man!
Feel free to disagree but I think the order to watch the last 4 should be:
Ani next (it was done the same time as TTTO so it makes sense). And then obviously move on to the Tin Can Bros shows!
thats probably how i would do it 👌
If you want to add the TCB I think you should put SAF before Black Friday. Idk about Solve It Squad or Flopstoppers (is she gonna react to those too??)
yeah because of all of the saf vibes in made in America
STARSHIP! It's such an underrated gem
Wagon on Fire is a BOP

1. One night, instead of saying “Mike’s Hard Lemonade” Joey said “Mook’s Hard Lemonade”
2. The piano player in the background is Clark Baxtresser, the Adonis from Firebringer
3. Joey’s line at 12:02 was improved every night which is why they started laughing
4. For the filming night they did all of the endings but normally they’d have some kind of poll that the audience members would vote on before the show started
5. Joey did the fart noises with his mouth, they weren’t prerecorded
6. In an early draft of the show, Jack Bauer was going to be a character which is why Jeff was so happy when someone said that name
7. Apparently Joe Walker was the one who yelled Mouthface
I don’t have a whole lot of trivia for this show so that’s all for now! I will say that you have GOT to watch Spies Are Forever, it’s from Tin Can Bros which was created by Joey Richter, Brian Rosenthal and another Starkid member, Corey Lubowich. It’s just amazing! Please, please watch it!!
