Matthew Goode portrayed Robert Evans phenomenally well in the series "The Offer" in my opinion. I just binge watched the series, pretty much watched all 10 episodes each one hour long back to back in one day. Yes it's that good. Every actor played each character so well. If anybody reading this has not yet watched The Offer which came out last year you need to watch it. You definitely won't regret it. It's one of the best series I've ever watched.

Thank you, I watched it, remarkable stuff. The scene where Evans has to convince all the studio execs to do the movie....WOW. Beautiful acting from Matthew Goode

Brilliant interview!….Hollywood today is missing Robert Evans…big time.
Now its all Marvel comics and Super Heroes (pure garbage).

Martin Short used to do a hilarious imitation of this interviewer on SCTV (in those skits, Lineman’s research was always factually wrong).
Shows like this were terrific though. When I was a kid, I probably watched way too much TV, but with so little choice back then, I also feel like I learned a lot from watching shows like this. Fascinating, open, smart discussion between two people. Does it still exist?

I have to disagree with Robert on one point: luck exists. Coppola was prepared for the opportunity given to him, but that alone wouldn't have granted him success. He was lucky Robert intervened on his behalf to keep him in the director's chair. That was outside Francis' control but was essential to his success.

Yeah seriously, it disgusts me when people try to say luck didn't play a part in their success. I just got done reading his bio and luck very much played a huge part of his life, from being born in NY and having it much easier in the Great Depression then practically anyone else to being noticed at the Beverly Hills hotel swimming pool by an actress and getting a part. I mean how many guys get to hang out at the Beverly Hills hotel at 26 when they're not even a big time actor. Plus his brother was a success and it sounds like they mutually benefited from each other. How can he say luck doesn't exist??????????????????????

My GOD, how the big corperate studios have destroyed the art of film making!!
Back then a guy like Evans cud still win + force his amazing creations onto the world! But 1 man w/ integrity + honor + loyalty to his craft above all else, didn't stand a chance!

Wish his mic didn’t cut at the end. I would love to hear what he was saying about being an actor as the lights went down.
