Huge thanks to today's sponsor Quidd! I don't usually cover non-video game IPs, but having a sponsor like this makes me feel safer doing one. So big thanks! You can get Quidd here ►►► bit.ly/2gST0Xp Feel free to add me, my username is Lockstin2
Lockstin & Gnoggin last
Lockstin & Gnoggin lol I've had quod for a long time now
Do you think it would be possible to do a 3-second sponsor announcement in the beginning and move the detailed ad to the end of the videos? Or do they not particularly welcome that? I prefer to see whether the video has enough "meat" on it to justify the advertisement.
Lockstin & Gnoggin
YES!!! MORE!!!
Rick and Morty
I've been professionally diagnosed with depression, so that wasn't a shocker for me, but you naming all symptoms at 02:04 and all them 100% applying to me just hit me like a brick
How’s it going buddy?

Oooh! Personal space!
Are we talking about personal space?
Let me guess before watching the video: this is sponsored by Quidd and he's going to mention that you can trade Rick and Morty stickers with him.
YOYO 22 I didn't
I must be an edgy repubscent teen I'm not even trying
Everyones Sassing Pelican but almost everyone MAKING Rick and Morty videos lately have been going on about Quidd, It's like lootcrate you can't escape it so there is a good chance they they didn't watch it.
What if the reason Rick wasn't in Beth's life for 20 years was because he had a misfunctioning portal gun that made him think he was in the right universe when he wasn't and he helped raise Beth in a different universe. As well as saw the birth of his grandson but not his grandson
Reece Nix Or he wasn't from that dimension to begin with and the real Rick from the main series' dimension has been long dead. It has never been stated as far as I know that the dimension we are seeing the main series take place is C-137
Mazera DeVille well after season 2 we know it's not his Beth since they cronenberg up that world
After the season 3 premiere were not even sure if that beth was his beth at all.
Darkmastergrey Nah. It's confirmed that the chronenburg dimension is C-137
There is a theory that all the Ricks are from C-137, since they all are from 3rd dimension
I don't know about Rick, but I often hide my inferiority complex by making people think I have superiority complex. I always say things that make me sound like a narcissist so that no one can tell how much I hate myself; maybe Ricks doing that to?
this is actually common in grandiose narcissism, people with npd often struggle with that.
narcissistic people walk on the fine line between an almost god-like sense of self and self hatred. as seen in the show, rick calls himself a god, even defeating other godlike specimen (for example season 4. episode 9.) while simultaneously not living up to their own perfectionist views of how they're supposed to be ("oh god, I'm a horrible father" season 4. episode 10.)
the mentioned episode also underlines the narcissism seen in rick in various ways.
his inability to better himself in therapy, setting traps and weapons up that trigger when he expresses a reflective view, thinking he's the one the galactic government actually wants, not his daughter, not living with the responsibility of knowing which version of his daughter is a clone etc.
this is by far not the only episode where his narcissistic traits are shown, so it's more than likely he qualifies for a diagnosis.
@@gratedTate True. That was very interesting to read, thank you.
Mannnnnn you should make more of these videos. Ever since you've evolved your video style something has felt different. But Mann these videos are great
"Brand new app called Quidd."
Released in September
I love the psychology analysis in this one and would love to see more. Thank you for making it.
Question: if there are infinitely many versions of Rick (and by extension, Morty), why haven't we seen any that aren't named Rick? (Or if we have, why so few?) They'd be the same person, just not named Rick. Or is it something about the name Rick that makes them who they are?
MayorPear they did said there was a linear dimentional thing that only allows them to only go through a few dimentions insted of infinate, bc if it was infinate rick could accidentally destroy every planet without any peoblems but idk
+Jose Galvan Did they? That makes a lot of sense in the context of the show, but I don't remember anything like that.

The game is fun
The game, is a battle
If it's not fun, why bother?
If it's not a battle, where's the fun?
Starts at 1:05 for whoever wants to skip the "hey download or go to this site" thing.
When you were describing the symptoms of Depression I had to pause and realize that I had all of these symptoms. I say this unjokingly
DAMN, quid better be shelling out some fat bux for all these minute long sponcerships in all these youtuber's feeds as of late...
I like the psych perspective in this! Just one, not really important, note: Rick's age has been referenced as first being in his 80s and, most recently, 70 years old.
Great video!
♥
Pickle Rick is my spirit animal
new language has been discovered 7:06
10:39 shits hard thats for sure
The footage that is supposedly from S1E8 "Rixty Minutes" is actually from S2E8 "Iterdimensional Cable II."
My favourite videos of yours are about psychology
Every time i watch one of your vids i always find a little piece of myself
Sir Phil I'm just gonna guess that you're trying to diagnose yourself: If so, go see a therapist if you want a real diagnosis.
Rick and Morty were described as the two halves of the human brain. Rick is the nihilistic, cruel, merciless side of it. The logical, the reason, the science brain. Morty is the creative, childlike, innocent brain. Together, they cancel each other out.
To me, Morty represents childhood and Rick represents adulthood. Morty sometimes has learned to be mature and Rick sometimes has learned to embrace the inner child.
You should do the psychology of Steven Universe. I know it gets deep with a different issue for each character.
at 3:15 to 3:20 my reaction is: "what is this? sonic adventure 2?!" XD
That's it, I'm joining the fandom right now.
I have many traits of psychopathy Diagnosed with Bipolar depreshion and Autsim. been fighting dark side of me since 15 years old.
8:42
Sorry if someone already this but the episode you mention here is not Rixty Minutes but I'm pretty sure Interdimensional Cable 2. I mean, it's the sequel so it's probably pretty easy to mix up but I still felt abliged to point that out. ;)
When all of the symptoms at 2:04 applied to me I freaked out.
And by freaked out I mean I still am freaking out.
No game no life season 3 comes out tomorrow
Season 3? 2 is not even out yet
+ExHappyFace season 2 is out
ExHappyFace 2 has been out for a long time
Wait what!
When did season 2 come out. How did I not know
ExHappyFace You may come from an dimension in which there was no 2nd season.
More psychology videos, cartoon videos, and Rick and Morty also (if there's anything that you can find)
Super glad those red circles were there. Would've been lost otherwise.
Psychology is one of the most interesting topics for me, so I'd love it if you made more videos similar to this. :P
I KNEW SOMEWHERE A CHANNEL LIKE THAT EXISTED !
In Morty's defense over the killing in 'Look who's Purging Now', he ate candy that induced the homicidal rage.
Holammer
The candy was Purgenol free.
Glad you had very similar perspectives.
Did a decent job analyzing Rick but glossed over Morty a lot. You listed why Rick spends time with and travels with Morty but didn't really go into Morty's side. It's pretty obvious that the kid, as innocent as he is, considers himself Rick's chaperone. He goes along with him out of fear for his safety. His house being a warzone where anything could set off a fight between his parents, his sister's general disinterest and the only person who really spends time with him being his grandpa, have forced him to mature and grow up quicker than his peers and he basically carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, trying to keep the family together and his grandpa from being thrown out on the street, and going off on some other adventure and disappearing for who-knows-how-long. This contributes to (and possibly causes) his anxiety. It's up to him to protect his grandpa, and his grandpa is so unpredictable that Morty is constantly on edge. Also it might not be RIck's worldview rubbing off, but rather depression hitting Morty. He's not exactly the happiest kid, and like you mentioned, he is extremely traumatised.
Please make another crossover video about lego. I mean with all the franchises and those franchises that they crossover with. It's insane, please lockstin make this. Hell anybody make this
Psychology of Doom Guy.
What goes on in that head while bloodsplosions happen all around and high energy music plays to killing sprees?

Finn the human To avoid copyright strikes
Very good video, actually made me think about watching the show
Ps I love those phocalogy of videos pleas make more
Love these psychological vids
Nice intro. Please keep it. Or make it your evil team's jingle. Whatever works.
You are wrong about Rick being a psychopath. While the traits you mention apply for psychopaths and to Ricks character, psychopaths have other traits that are distinct to them, but do NOT apply to Rick. Psychopaths are wired differently in their brain similar to autistic people, but with very different consequences. They have only shallow emotions, thus they often are unable to feel fear, disgust or embarrassment. They are absolutely *unable to fall in love, or have a passion.* Most notably, though: *psychopaths are unable to ever develop depression, burn-out or PTSD!* Furthermore, psychopaths will never ever think of themselves as failures or otherwise as lowly.
Now, back to Rick: Rick is clearly depressed, has ow self-worth and cares to some extent about others. IMHO, the most defining mental illness in him is *bipolar disorder coupled with alcoholism.* He has moments, where he's hyperactive, feels god-like and acts impulsively. However, these moments are always followed by lows with regret, lethargy and numbing pain in drug-abuse. His mood swings also explain why he cares at times and sometimes not.
If you insist, you could call him a sociopath, which is a less defined term than psychopath. There are ruthless and manipulative people, which still care about others or struggle with low self-esteem etc. His callous nature comes from his nihilism and depression. Depression can manifest in the absence of fear, disgust and compassion akin to psychopaths, however in that case it's about that nothing matters and everything is worthless themselves included. If you want to know how it feels: it's like you're slowly dying bit by bit and rotting from the inside and becoming hollow like a tree. That's not the happy lack of emotion psychopaths have.
Not Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder.
Rick has no end goal besides McNugget sauce
Ok Ben ikr
Amazing video as always
4:00 hey, that's my profile pic
I have missed those Videos.
Season three tonight woooo
Worst reasons to stay married:
3) for the taxes, to save money on them
2) for your parents
1) for your children.
Really, à toxic relationship is the worst thing you can put onto your children.
Thank you.
Rick is a Sociopath, not a Psychopath.
There's three key differences:
A) A Psychopath is born while a Sociopath is made,
B) While Sociopaths lack Sympathy (caring about the suffering of others despite not having had a similar experience), they fo have have Empathy (the ability to understand another's pain based one's own experience.) Psychopaths, on the other hand, feel neither.
C) Because of a lack of Empathy, Psychopaths enjoy hurting others, while a Sociopath will generally avoid directly hurting others. Both are generally more than happy to manipulate, lie to, and control others, but because of this a Sociopath will try harder to avoid getting caught, as they don't want to feel bad for causing the person pain.
Ok what the heck RUclips unclicked the bell so I didn't get notified to this. Thank god I check RUclips
I think rick has Asperger's and alcoholism. I believe that the intelligence that can be coupled with Asperger's can cause cynicism. Some aspies deal with their problems with drinking as well.
Look into borderline personality disorder
The start of this video reminded me of my depression
In the purge episode he did eat power bars that make you a ruthless killer sso it couldn't all be because of the previously experienced traumas
Cubic Studios At the end of the episode it is shown that the power bar was purginol free, meaning it caused no violent tendencies.
According to this video I'm a psychopath, except for the fact that I'm not and either Lockstin doesn't know, or ignored the fact that psychopathy is not a disorder itself
that got super real.....AND IT WAS AWESOME!!
as I've so often said "hope for the best, expect the worst"
The music at the beginning was a bit too loud and distracting. I could focus on your voice but i can imagine others having problems, especially with very "zappy" music for the lack of a better description.
i love hentai, but i love your videos more.
senpai-Chan desu kun sensei
Sugoi desu ga
Your profile pic makes that obvious
and the name too
I too love hentai and his videos, but i love goats even more.
Goats are Great Me 2 bud
Rick is my spirit animal
I loved this video and the format of information, but it hurt my brain to see the images from the show reversed. I literally had to flip my phone upside down so that my brain could stop trying to process why things were on the wrong side of the screen, and why things looked weird.
I agree
thats was a good video :)
do more cartoon like steven universe try what happened to pink diamond plz!
We need more videos that discussing based. Especially come psychology videos that would be amazing
How about the psychological of the Simpson's family?
4:00
STOP DISCRIBING ME.
The new episode really did a number on me
I didn't know about that channel [Miws Tluba] that streams inverted Rick and Morty, is that from interdimensional cable??
Huh... Either the Subs are off, or there was a mistake in the editing: 8:40
Heck, I'd say there's something... Off about this video, i can't quite put my finger on what tho...
Stuttering also can imply whatever I have
Everything?
I think most things
Note on 7:32 this is not our original morty and Rick those guys are different rich and morty
From Justin Roiland's Twitter, Rick did get hiss McNuggets Dippin sauce
Spoiler free... until the 0:01 mark which spoils a Season 3 episode. For *&^%(&^*'s sake.
8:43 Not to be rude, but that is "Interdimensional Cable II: Tempting Fate" Not Rixty Minutes.
I still feel like rick and morty are just the same person in two different times in his life. rick is turning morty into him and then when morty gets older he realizes he's rick and then goes back to start teaching morty what he needs to know to turn into rick.
why are all your R&M clips backwards??? Drives me insane watching... AHH!!!
Yayy i fit every one of the depression signs :D :D :D :'D
There is a theory that evil Morty is Rick C-137 his original Morty. What if the Morty that nearly gets eaten by those frog people in the intro is evil Morty
I loved when Morty said that to summer it was like a love letter to all those sensitive crybabies that are filling our world with their complexes and insecurity.
Basically, Morty is an innocuous version of Rick. Despite Rick's nihilistic views on life, Morty is that sort of side that Rick lost...? Hmm... I would consider your theory clearly well-thought out and very convincing. I think your theory is plausible, especially the thesis of your video, that a combination or optimism and nihilism creates a sort of perception on life that is potentially beneficial to the person as a whole, like Harmon and Roiland intended the views of their optimistic nihilism to be considered as a balanced result of being realistic and aware of the stupidest facets of the world, and, at once, innocent and just naive enough to consider the world beautiful and worth living for.
You failed to acknowledge one of the most prominent traits of the psychopath which is "inability to feel love or regret". I would have believed your claim if only you could prove that second part, but, until then, I'm much more certain that Rick is more of a sociopath than a psychopath.
What does that concept say about 'evil morty'?
This was great
Remember Rick was also part of The galactic war against the federation
I am actually scared about how many of the symptoms of psychopathy I have
Connor Denholm This youtuber can't diagnose you.
Go see a therapist.
that's very philosophical
but, where whe can include Summer in all of this?
Rick had too much klatchian coffee as a kid.
9:15 FIRST GAME THEORY AND NOW EVEN YOU DONT REALISE HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC???????
Nope, I'm not a fan of Rick and Morty, I'm just a fan of you. XD
Also, the end message of this video is why Maxill exists and is so important. :)
Rick was compared to Sans recently. Therefore, Sans is Ness
