I just got the 101A rollerbones wheels and i love skating in the rink but i was worried i wouldn’t be able to skate outdoors. so glad you made this review so now i am more confident!
Thanks again for another great video. I do love my 78A wheels, 65mm, for long distance trail skating. Mostly because I’m old and lazy and don’t want to work too hard 🤭. I love the Rollerbones for rink skating. I think as long as you are comfortable with it you can ride almost any wheel you want outdoors/indoors just depends on the surface (more for outdoors).
I realize this is an older video but I’m going to try my luck at a response anyway. When I was a teen I went skating every weekend. I bought my own skates but my friend told me the wheels were crap so he gave me a set he wasn’t using. They were on the smaller side and white. I used them and never had any issues. Fast forward 30 years and I am now taking my kids skating and getting back into it. I’m going to get myself a set of skates as I don’t have the ones I had as a teen. After some research I believe the white wheels I had as a teen were sure-grip all American plus. I remember my friend making a big deal about them being made of vanathane. I’m currently looking at some rollerbones nitro 97a. If I was on the all Americans as a teen would these nitro’s feel too soft to me? The rental skates I have been using seem too soft and make me work too hard. It seems that the all Americans rate around 101a is there that much difference between a 97a and a 101a? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Just bought the 101 rollerbones turbo for my 395s riedells . Mind you iam 230 lbs 6.2 . Haven’t seen any review on them on you tube but I will doing a review on them . Some say they are to hard and some say they are fast and grippy l guess weight is a major factor at times and also the surfaces . But this was a great review. To me l think it all breaks down to the style of skating and preferences of skaters .
Luv my 78-84 for outdoors, trails and beginner park. I got 103's by accident and it was super hard, super bumpy outdoors (zero shock absorption) and not grippy at all, so on slopes i had a hard time using 103's to hold as it was a slippery slide down during T-stop like positions... so i switched back to 82 and am about to invest in 92-98. Luv yer insights though. And i am sold on yer hockey stop ♡
How would you rate these compared to the Sure-Grip Velvets or American Dream wheels? Really enjoying your down to earth content. Thank you!! My Daughter really likes her Roller Bones Super Elite 101a wheels, but they discontinued them. Looking for a similar replacement. Supposedly they were having problems with the nylon hubs on the Super Elites, but we never encountered a problem other than wearing them out. I just bought her some regular Roller Bones Elite 101a but I don't know how good they will skate without the hubs of the Supers.
Velvets and American dreams have way more roll than the 101s, but at the expense of top speed (due to smaller size, so they'll need a little more effort to keep going at high speed) and grip.
Hi i hope you see this seeing this is an old video but I have some sure grip fame wheels 95a they are perfect indoors but once I get outside I lose my ability to be as smooth as I am indoors like everything takes so much more effort so I’m wondering since they are grippy as u can get for indoor wheels are they just too grippy for outdoor since obviously using them outdoor on unpolished concrete will be more grippy than using them inside so should I just get a harder wheel to combat the grip because I’ve tried skating in soft wheels to see if it’s the fsct the small rocks are slowing me down because it’s one of those concretes that are just made up of lots of small rocks but I hated skating in them so maybe I should get harder wheels
Where did you find the set of Blue 101A wheels? I've been looking for a blue set 98A or 101A for quite some time. Also why did Rollerbones discontinue that wheel color?
@@rollerskateuniverse6763 Thanks for the update. So someone for Rollerbones actually replied to my inquiry. This is the response: We discontinued blue to lower the amount of colors so we could increase production and catch up to the demand on the wheels. We had to so we could keep stock in the colors we offer now. We are still trying to keep up with the demand. If we can get our production caught up we can look at introducing colors like blue back. Sorry i checked and we don’t have any left. Thanks

All depends on your surface. If it's a tennis court or skatepark, they will absolutely thrive

If you get the nitros, just get the hardest ones ( they make them in different hardnesses) and you'll be ok!
Thank you so much. I appreciate the response.

@Devon1_ absolutely get another set in a different hardness to adjust for different surfaces
I have like 4 sets of these wheels. I love them for the rink
They work SO well!

Not sure why they discontinued the color, it's beautiful!
Found at a rink that was closing down

I like the team roller bones 101 A's very good
I don't Park Skate eitherv but when I do go out I use 78A Zen
You'll definitely keep more speed with less fatigue with a harder wheel
So my carport should be fine
If the pavement is smooth let it rip!
Roughly how much do these sets go for new and used?
Around $60USD new
Terrible wheels mine got a flat spot the first day
