I have a medical condition called spina bifida I've had over 20 surgeries in my life I've been under anethishia a few times in my life I'm thankful I never said anything stupid under it I was just chilling most of the time lol

We got patients before we sent the surgery they are the sweetest people , than after surgery they go to PACU , they woke up , vitals are in normal range, PACU nurse calls gives us report before they sent them to unit for recovery and our sweet patient now is violent , trying to take his/her IV lines off , taking his/her gown off , cursing , hitting , not know where he /she is , trying to get off the bed etc General anesthesia effect everyone differently , especially elderly peoples. So he is not remembering his wife , using curse words are totally normal . That’s why after surgery , anesthesiologist team staff will come check the patients and talk to patients face to face if they placed as an inpatient status at the hospital.

For example i once went through a surgery and i received one thing into my bloodstream and after an hour or so i was put on the table and the received another one. I was wondering at the time. Why i wasnt scared or felt pain someone was putting needle in my spinal cord wherebouts. So its not only or always used to erase pain.
