Compare Old Gaunt's speech here and Patrick Stewarts performance of it. It's night and day. This guy just reads the words out like memorizing them is all that needs to be done. There's no emotion or reality to it. Stewart really inhabits the role. FWIW.
Different times!! But so wonderful that we can see both performances. I hope we will have the BBC series that came in the late 80’s as a well at some stage.
