Hi Patrick, my girls and I have been following Ksenia Efremova since we saw her and her Mum in "Raising a Champion…". She has grown and demonstrates superb control, excellent foot work and power. She has a bright future. My girls will watch this video this evening before their tennis training.
What’s amazing is how much she wants to win. I watched all her matches in her AO debut and she was practicing with top players like Vekic and beating them. She doesn’t fear playing anyone and you can see she wants it more than everyone else.
Hi Patrick, really enjoy your videos! A question please. Am I wrong to try to keep my 14 year old daughter hitting with a more atp with more topspin/less errors forehand than the WTa flatter one? I understand that the girls can't chase down as many balls maybe as the guys, but still, the high topspin bounce and less errors seem worth it.
Ksenia plays well, she is very quick. Please tell her to protect her skin from long term damage from UV rays. I have trouble spinning the backhand too. Lol I am not that good though.
She is ranked 85th in the junior world rankings. This is not bad but not really good either! And whether she'll even be in the top 100 for women (WTA)... is anyone's guess!
I honestly don't see the point of tossing balls with no pace for practice, as the most difficult part of groundstrokes is getting the timing and contact point consistently right. But what do I know?
Backswing on both sides is too long. This becomes a problem as the balls come faster and deeper. Backswing on return of serve is a good deal shorter, and more like what it should be on all the strokes. Those shots, hit against hard serves, are much more effective than her regular ground strokes against hard, deep balls. Best to get rid of technical imperfections now rather than later on. Ask Coco, Iga, etc.
@@blakebrothers3984 You're right, most of them do have bigger swings, and this is what explains why most of their forehands break down under pressure. Rybakina has one of the technically best and most reliable forehands in the WTA, and she is not at all a "physical beast." Patrick tries to get his players to prepare early and begin the swing when the ball hits the ground (which goes hand in hand with a shorter backswing), but old habits are hard to break.
@@andrewash9318 As long as the preparation is early it doesn’t matter, even in men’s Gonzalez had a big swing compared to Fed however he was rarely late Ha e a look at Emerson Jones Number 1 in the world in Junior girls Big swings but good legs and preparation
@@blakebrothers3984 It is very rare in men’s tennis to see a forehand with such a big backswing, because in most cases they are at such a disadvantage. Gasquet has a big loopy forehand, and that prevented him from achieving the greatness that his backhand could have given him. Not sure what you see in Jones. I watched the AO 24 final highlights, and her forehand was consistently late when challenged.
Which part of Ksenia’s game do you think improved the most in this session?
Killer instinct
Does she play well under pressure?

She have a talent.
le plus beau sport qu'il existe🤠
vraiment très solide pour son âge.
She's definitely going to become very famous
Already is
Hoping to see sooner or later Patrick in a session with Angelica Sara.
Очень интересная тренировка. Ксюша и Юля - вы невероятные красотки и большие трудяги. Успехов)))
That young lady is very solid. You also have to notice how impressive is that coach 👏
Quick question: When the player moves towards the ball, does she bend her knees while approaching or just before hitting the ball? Thanks!
Cool !

Everyone knows why she’s getting as much attention as she is.
Her groundstrokes kind of remind me of Sharapova... except Ksenia is quieter... 😂

YOU ARE GOOD BUT IT IS YOUR PERSONALITY AND HOW YOU RELATE........PERSONALITY GOES ALONG WAY!!!!!
She will be a star
ay first!

I wonder the same thing but these hand fed ball drills seem to be very common with good players.
Needs to recover quicker after hitting instead of watching the ball for 4 seconds after the hit, gotta be ready for the opponents next shot good luck
Future top 5 WTA prospect.
We can only pray she doesn't end up like Sofya Zhuk ;(
How the hell is that related??
Feature the mom more.
is she the girl with a super demanding mother who has a Wimbledon dream of her own.
Most tennis mums are super demanding and have wimbledon in their sites.
@@higgsboson2280 You should watch the old documentary of her mom......

I personally think she could do with slowing her trajectory. Add rest into the routine.
Do you know how much rest she’s getting now? How do you know it’s not enough?

Most of the girls and woman have bigger swings excluding the physical beasts like Sabalenka
