- Apple's WWDC is a great time to preview what Apple has coming for the next year of software updates. While it might not seem like a big year for Apple Home, you might have missed a lot more buried in press releases and footnotes. This year also has some interesting signs pointing to the new smart home hardware we will discuss.

The water in the Bora Bora environment doesn’t look fake, it looks like the water in Bora Bora, and the water in Bora Bora looks fake.
Great video. Adding on to the information in the keynote, I appreciate your additional insights.
awesome video Eric. Thank you so much! 👏👏👏
Good call on the Apple TV beta hold off…I appreciate the warning!
Apple TV beta is working fine for me. No issues
One other thing I like is now in Shortcuts you have the ability to just create an accessory or scene toggle without having to do the whole If statement to create the toggle. About time…
I am more interested in a fix for Homekit not detecting when everybody has left the house.
Siri with apple intelligence is not coming to the HomePod. It needs a faster chip like the A17 pro and the HomePod uses an Apple Watch chip. So the question is, are we stuck using the current Siri? They never mentioned any Siri improvements for devices that can’t support Apple intelligence (i.e. homepods, iPhones below iPhone 15)
HomePods don’t need a more powerful chip to use Apple Intelligence, it can simply reach Apple servers for replies. Not all devices need to process Apple Intelligence on the device itself.
I faced the same issue with the Apple TV beta. It looks like we're missing the Get State of Home Accessory. We have two new options, but both are "Unknown Action"s.
It’s odd you had trouble I wonder what caused it I’ve installed the betas and my Apple home has been solid so far
So the new, upgraded Siri will be available on the existing Homepods too, or will I have to buy a new one that supports IOS 18 in the future?
I’d be shocked if upgraded Siri will be on the current gen Home stuff. Continued conversation isn’t even available on the HomePod and it’s been on the iPhone for probably a year now
Apple states that AI will be available on the A17 pro and M series processors (Mac’s and iPads), so looking highly for unlikely that Siri on the HomePod will change, which is disappointing as it’s probably the device that you’re most likely to use it on. I guess we’ll be seeing a HomePod Mini 2 and HomePod 3 or Pro later this year / next year.
So no updates whatsoever to HKSV or even any other security updates huh… well I feel confident I made the right choice setting up my Ring security.
AND THE BIG QUESTION IS? Has HomeKit secure video been increased from the pathetically low 1080p??
Keep dreaming. I doubt we will ever see that change
My fanciest equipment isnt ever over 1080p.
1080p isn’t good enough for home security video??
Hello Eric, I have a question not related to this but when I saw your video about accessories not responding. I have a huge problem regarding automations, Something happened when I upgraded the aqara M3 hubs, after that all my automations are not being completed in the apple home kit app, It is so weird. I have done everything in my power to try to figure it out. I reached apple support and they don't have a clue. They have forwarded my case and logs to the engineering team. Again tried to reset my router, all the home pods, restart my phone many times and so on and so forth. I not know what else to do . I Make the automation and it doesn't matter , once I am in the process of creating it, it seems to work, for example a light turn on but then when I click done for saving the automation, It says that operations couldn't be completed. So weird,
Do you have any ideas ?. Thanks a lot for your time.
All cosmetic trivia !
If they improve Siri and I can’t make fun of it, what will I do for entertainment?
A vacuum cleaner app with no interior map? No thanks, Apple.
Matter spec doesn’t support it I think
The point of HomeKit isn’t to replace a device’s dedicated app. Just to offer controls for most of the primary features to be used harmoniously with your existing devices, scenes, automations, etc. You still need to set up complex things like interior mapping inside the dedicated app obviously.
You get lost in that big house? 😂
People that install “Developer Betas” to their home devices or daily driver phones are the closest thing to Children that open up their Christmas gifts behind their parent’s back to get a sneak peak of what they’re getting. 😅😂
If you aren’t a developer updating apps for compatibility, u have no business installing developer betas on your smart home devices or iPhones and expecting seamless 😂xperiwnces.
