GIVING BIRTH TO MY 6TH BABY | Positive Hospital Birth Vlog

- What it’s like to give birth! Come with me as I deliver my 6th baby!👶🤰
When I was pregnat I had no idea what to expect when giving birth. I wish I had someone to walk me through how long labor could potentially be, the interventions that are used, and what my options were. So I decided to document and share my entire birthing experience from start to finish in hopes that it can be helpful to others!
I begin recording as my first serious contractions took place. I had been experiencing Braxton Hicks for several weeks at this point, but on this day the contractions were different. They were more frequent and progressively getting stronger.
Once I realized they were happening every 3 to 5 minutes, I decided it was time to go to the hospital. Given this was my 6th kid I knew things could go more quickly than ever before.
They say you know it’s time to leave for the hospital when your contractions are happening at least every 5 minutes, last for one minute each, and have been happening consistently for 1 hour. It’s called the 5-1-1 rule.
I birth big babies, I am talking over 10 lbs, and never once was a c-section mentioned to me just because of their size.
I chose to get an epidural as soon as possible due to what happened at my last birth. With baby number 5 I tried to go unmedicated. Unfortunately I didn’t make it. I was close, but I knew I would lack the strength to push if I continued to suffer and fight the pain. I have actually enjoyed my epidural births! They allowed me to relax and be more present for the experience. Being able to relax is key too. Each time I tried to birth unmedicated labor wouldn’t progress. So for this time around I decided to not fight it and just get the epidural as soon as it was available.
Please note, this is just my personal experience. Everyone is going to have a different birth story 🤗❤️
If you’re new here, hello, and thanks for reading this far! My name is Chrissy Horton and I am you big sis through pregnancy and motherhood where I like to keep it real yet encouraging! ❤️

I see so many horror stories about birth complications and it is honestly so relieving to see these very real, intimate, positive birth stories
And the positive occurances are alot more common that you would think :)
@@Mink_Tracks I've heard that at least 9 times out of 10, everything is 100% normal!
Since covid jab it’s been way intense in labor wards. Way more issues! Yay to jab affecting everything even Breastfeeding
@@lorelwebber6435oh god stop! Don’t bring that bs here! You gonna say that then provide sources for your stupid claim! Your dumb anecdotes ain’t it!
@@lorelwebber6435 ahahhahahahah
Your nurse was AMAZING! I loved how she told you everyone that was going to be in the room, gave you options and advocated for you!
Agreed. Very respectful.
Yes!!! Especially when she said you didn’t want to be on your back! I’m glad she advocated that for you since so many are forced into their back and it’s so poor for the mother and process. 💜💜💜
@rochelleanderson882 yes this! That was my favorite part. This birth team was spectacular. They were gentle, respectful, encouraging and so very helpful.
Yesss she let her patient take the lead. Absolutely love that ❤
@@melissalaw6634yesssss!! Very much!!! I was soooo happy to see that!! And they respected and were kind when she did and did not want you to push. It was very sweet!
The difference between epidural births and unmediated is so hilarious to me. I screamed like a wild banshee when mine was coming out 😂. The male residents eyes got so big but it’s something primal and you just can’t help it. Yours is just so calm and talkative.
Girl same!! My last birth (which is posted here too) the epidural didn’t work and I felt everything. Was screaming a lot in that birth vlog 😂
I work in labor and delivery and I've seen women with epidurals scream the baby out and women without them not make more than a groan. I think it just depends on the woman and their tolerance.
I can honestly say I had no pain during labor but pushing was a whole different story 😂. It also didn’t help the new female resident freaked out because my child was coming out too fast and nobody was there so she PUSHED her back up and held her……
Hi! I hope your feeling okay! Can I ask how much the baby weighs?@@chrissyhorton
Before I got my epidural with my second, I started retching so hard and uncontrollably. After I got it, I apologized to the staff for and I quote “summoning demons” 😂 they all giggled some and told me it was perfectly normal to make otherworldly sounds. Your body is doing something insane so it’s natural to make some insane sounds lol
Chrissy!!! I started sobbing uncontrollably when I saw your face change right after you saw her 😭 that is such an incredible moment and it made me instantly go back to seeing my two little girls ❤ I love your channel so much. Congrats on your precious baby girl! I’m so happy for you! And I will be thinking of you and praying for you in your first several weeks while you adjust to her arrival.
Last night I was re-living my daughters’ births. My baby is 7mo old now and I feel like it was yesterday-but also like a light year away at the same time?! How is that even possible. It’s giving me baby fever all over again
Congratulations and may God hold you both in the palm of his hand! 22 weeks with twin boys as we speak ❤❤
I hope everything goes well and I am praying for you❤️
My twins boy just turned 10 months I pray for a safe delivery for you I’m expecting my 5th this March
23 weeks with b/g twins myself!
Congrats momma!!!
I don’t know why this made me cry! I have 2 children already and I want a third but I was horrified that with my second I was in labor for 50 hours and she came out not breathing with the cord wrapped around her 2 times. But thankfully I everything turned okay and she’s healthy. I was afraid to try for a third but this video gave me hope. ❤❤❤
Omg same. My baby girl was born in May, I was in labor for something like 39 hours or more. I pushed for 4 hours and then her heart rate went down and we had to move to an emergency C-section, turns out the cord was around her neck 2 times. She was born just fine and is a strong and healthy baby, thank God. I cried so much when I was told we had to change to a c-section (this is my first baby) and I was scared of so many things. Now I worry about having another difficult labor, but I want her to have a sibling. I'm so happy your baby and mine were born okay! They will grow to be strong women one day! ♥️
@@kalenalexisbeauty9102 I’m so glad everything turned out well for your baby girl as well. ❤️❤️
Cord around neck 2 times is pretty common. I gave birth at how without assistance with cord around the neck and it was no problem, so the 50 hours was probably due to all the interventions you received.
I had a traumatic 1 birth, labored for 30+ hours and didn’t get to hold my baby when he came out, he had to be taken to nicu. I prayed for a redeeming second birth when I was pregnant with my second and the Lord gave it to me! It was hard because I had so much fluid and was massive with a 9.7 lb baby but it was so redeeming! Pray for a healing birth if you decide to take the leap of faith and have another! And have others praying over you as well! 🩷🩷
I was also told I had to have a c-section but I said no I’m not done trying to get baby in the right position and I had a great nurse that helped me and got to deliver naturally! (It wasn’t an emergency so that’s why I had the option to say no even tho the dr really pressured me to just get the c-section anyway)
I was pregnant with my rainbow baby when her last birth vid was posted and here I am pregnant again while I watch this one! I watched Chrissy's videos all throughout my last pregnancy and I intend to do the same with this one. I love your content, Chrissy and the awesome community you've built♡
Chrissy has some great advice for new moms and for moms-to-be, that's for sure!
Over 10 pounds baby and you still have a normal delivery. That’s incredible, I can’t believe how it was possible 😳
That’s because women are pressured so hard for unnecessary interventions… they never get to hear stories of women who just give birth to big babies naturally because it’s barely allowed to happen any more. It’s totally possible. It’s (mostly) just scaremongering. If you and baby are healthy you shouldn’t need any interventions (except maybe pain relief).
She has a large pelvis and is quite tall.
Your body won’t make a baby you can’t push out
@@amandasoliz-contreras8226you do know sometimes babies do get stuck and moms have to have a C-section or other intervention to get them out and birth injuries do happen because of getting stuck? My 5 ft tall sister in law had a 10 lb 2 oz baby (first pregnancy) and she wasn't contracting or showing any signs of labor when she was full term. She had also been told she has a narrow pelvis. She didn't even try to push that dude out.
@@mrsmack5808did she try different positions to push the baby out that where not on her back?
Thank you for the POSITIVE birth story. Women love to talk about their horror stories and it terrified it. It didnt set me up for success. But i had a very positive and easy birthing experience. I wish more people shared both sides.
Wait you had an easy birth and therefore feel resentful towards women who talk about not having an easy birth? Seems counterintuitive. In any case talking about a traumatic experience is what helps you process it. Please don’t mischaracterize (ahem shame) people doing this as having some perverse “love” of their trauma experience.
@@breitfart5285Nope I totally agree with OP. As someone who had basically the only positive birth in my mum’s group, believe me those mums loved the drama of their traumatic births. And it definitely made me feel guilty that I had barely any problems with mine. I’m not saying they enjoyed suffering through their births, but I’m saying they absolutely made sure everyone heard all the details, slammed every doctor and nurse, complained about everything, etc etc. They were actually trying to one-up each for who had the worst birth.
@@breitfart5285exactly!!! As if those women wanted to have a traumatic birth 🙄 talking about it helps to process like you said, and it’s the truth of what births are often like
I love the part where you are nursing baby while dad feeds you. It's perfect. Congratulations and happy birthday.
Just delivered my first baby a few days ago via emergency c-section. He came 6 weeks early, and it was about as bad a birth experience as it can get. I’ll spare you all the details - pretty sure it was listeria - but not pretty. So I’m watching this with a twinge of sadness, wishing it could have been more like this. But it also gives me hope and reduces my fear for baby #2 (in a few years…lol) seeing how beautiful and peaceful a birth can be. Thank you so much for sharing this!! Praising God for your happy birth and beautiful girl!!
I had the same experience with my first. Not only a hard traumatic emergency c-section but an awful pregnancy. Every bad symptom you can get I had. 24/7 morning sickness for 7 straight months, anemia, baby on my sciatic nerve, had to be hospitalized several times. Just an awful experience. My 2nd son was a perfect pregnancy no symptoms at all, felt amazing and super easy delivery. Don’t let the birth trauma stop you from having another if you want to. Just know they aren’t all traumatizing.
Literally crying. I'm about to have my fourth. Thank you for having a positive epidural birth, too. I got an epidural with my third and I can't wait to have another. I feel bad admitting it sometimes.
Yes girl I have tried unmedicated so many times and just realized it’s not for me. I am sure if I was forced to go unmedicated I could but I don’t want to 🙈 once I let go and just realized the epidural is the route for me, my birth was so much more peaceful!
@chrissyhorton thank you for being honest. I feel the same way. I did it unmedicated twice and it was so chaotic and I was so overwhelmed. It has taken me a lot to accept that my birth with the epidural was the best I had.
No need to feel bad about it -- giving birth to a child is always a great accomplishment, epidural or not!
I loved my epidurals, they made birth so much better!
@@chrissyhortonhave you researched the affects an epidural does not only mothers but babies too. They are part of the reason why autism is rising within children today. Though there is more crazy affect it has.
This labor video was so healing for me to see. I’m a mom to a 1 year old and his birth was extremely traumatic for me. I’ve always wanted a big family and was hoping to be pregnant again by now until I saw how horrible giving birth can be and I’ve been terrified to get pregnant again. Hearing you say that you’ve had very rough birth experiences and very easy ones like this one is so motivating to me. If I had another birth like the last one I don’t think I could do it again but knowing that it could be easier is such a relief! Thank you for sharing all of your mama tips and tricks and just your journey every step of the way. And CONGRATULATIONS on a BEAUTIFUL baby girl ❤️ you did so amazing! I’m so proud of you and excited for your family to grow! Would love to see a video of your other kids meeting their newest addition! Much love & healing sent your way!
I’m due with my sixth baby in the fall! Congratulations and high five! You are such a cute mom 😊.
6 th ??????😭😭😭😭 How do y'all do that ? get pregnant 6 times. I HATE been pregnant. Nausea , fatigue etc. I seriously hate been pregnant. 3 and I am already calling it quit. Can't imagine having the strength to birth 6 kids !!!! I am human not super woman 😭.
Congratulations y’all!! I’m not gonna lie having just done this myself three whole months ago I was kinda shaking watching this and remembering that feeling 😭
Its so encouraging that you post such intimate moments, currently cuddling my 12 week old and remembering how perfect and sweet that feeling is ❤
I’m a postpartum nurse and I’ve had 4 babies and that was an amazing birth wow congrats to you and your family!
Due any minute with my second! Thank you for sharing such a vulnerable time with us and congratulations!
Best of luck to you!
I cried tears of joy because everything went so smoothly for you. From you being at the hospital on time, to the staff respecting your preference to have the cord cut when it stops pulsating...
My experience was horrible with my twins and it convinced me that I don't want to go through that again, so no more babies for me, unfortunately.
This was the most peaceful birth!!! I'm so impressed with how well you did in your labor. 🎉❤🎉 Great Job Mama!
I just had my first baby today! And I love the coincidence of this ulpload!! I had been watching all of your videos during my pregnancy and you were the first to tell me about the shakes, I knew to expect them thanks to you!!
Dang girl, you got me in the feels, wish I knew about you when I was having my kids, sharing with all my friends and family as a positive resource for real women warriors, way to know your body and advocate for yourself this is amazing! Congratulations, she is so cute!
Congrats Chrissy!!❤ I’m 39 weeks and misty eyed watching this. Thanks for being such a positive light.
Man, that made me cry! And I’m a grandmother!! I don’t know why this one got me. Maybe how kind the hospital staff were to you. That really makes a difference.
Congrats Chrissy and Tim! This birth seemd so peaceful. I hope everything is going well!
Congratulations ❤️ I'm 36 weeks and 4 days pregant with my first baby and so nervous for giving birth your video has helped me calm down so much
Thank you for sharing such an intimate part of your life! Birth is incredible and nothing compares to that first moment when that little piece of heaven joins the room!
Congratulations to your entire family! 🤍
I cried. That was so beautiful. And such a supportive nurse and husband seems like a game changer. Congratulations mama, great job!
I love how you weave in the tiniest bits of Catholicism in your videos! Such a powerful testimony. Congrats on the beautiful birth!
Aw, congrats Chrissy. What a beautiful memory this is for your family of your sweet baby’s birth! ❤
You have no idea how much you have helped me since I've been so scared of pregnancy
Congrats on that beautiful baby. You sound like you had really good nurses. I am nursing my 3 wks.old rainbow baby and I feel ya on being scared right before birth, but you're right, we were made to do this!!
Love how kind the nurses and doctors are! 🎉🎉🎉
Chrissy!! I can’t believe I stumbled upon your channel! I love it so much! When we were teaching preschool together you had no babies yet and now you have 6! So incredible and so happy for you! Congratulations on baby #6 ❤ this was so beautiful to watch.
This was just like my first birth 1.5 years ago, I am now 38 weeks pregnant waiting and hoping to have the exact same amazing experience with baby #2! Epidural is amazing and I am so thankful for this pain reliever. Congratulations mama ❤
This made me want to have another. You go girl
I had my baby on the same day! Congrats Momma!!
So happy for you!!! Enjoy your little bundle!!! Can't wait to see little baby girl grow up!!!
What amazing nurses. It was so encouraging to see them advocating for you and encouraging you to do what feels right. Congratulations!
So glad to hear you finally had your baby! Love your videos, your influence is refreshing!
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you and your family. You did such an amazing job! I love how honest you are about everything. I gave birth to my son last year and it was completely different from my daughter’s 10 years ago. Thank you so much for keeping it real and helping me through my journey with my family.
Most laid back birth I’ve ever seen. Nicely done!
Congrats on baby number 6 Crissy!!! And a little girl? How precious!! Praying for all the prosperity in your life❤❤❤
Congratulations! Your medical team is amazing. They are nice and encouraging the whole time.
Congratulations Chrissy and Tim!! 🤩 Praise the Lord!
Congratulations!!!! What a beautiful birth - I’m literally crying over here ❤ I’ve been following you since you were pregnant with your 5th - I was pregnant with my double rainbow baby during that time - now you’re having your 6th and I’m pregnant with another little blessing. Thank you for your content and sharing about your life and family with us - it’s encouraging, uplifting, fun, and still very real.
You just gave me so much hope and courage. After first horrible birth experience I was terrified for second time but after watching this video I’m so relaxed, happy, emotional and feeling strong. Lots of emotions going on after watching this. Thanks for sharing this beautiful experience here❤ May you and your family live healthy and happily❤
I have two both through c-section and it's so joyful to see other women get the birth experiences like this. My doctor said for sure my birth canal couldn't handle v*ginal delivery, so we never even tried. I'm grateful they're healthy and it was a special experience, but I don't think I'll ever get over the loss of not having the chance to push.
That was AMAZING. GOOD JOB MAMA! I was breathing right with you there at the end, you did so good! I was completely captivated by this video. 💕 love from a mama of 4 💕
You have no idea how much I need this! ❤😭 I’m giving birth next month and so scared. I don’t know what to expect and feel so lost and anxious. God bless you and your beautiful family! I hope I can handle my delivery as beautifully as you did yours. ❤
Both my kids have been half that size so my first thought was shes huge. You did awesome momma. Congratulations!
Ahhhh! Congratulations mama & daddy! She is precious! 🥰 🎀 Glad you both are healthy and well. Praying for a speedy recovery. ❤
Thank you for the comfort in encouraging positive future pregnancy & labor experience. ❤️
Congratulations Chrissy I’ve been watching you and your family like crazy during my pregnancy… I’m due in 24 days with my first and freaking out but you always give me an insane amount of confidence in tackling this new unknown. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.
Congratulations on your new baby! Wishing your baby good health! Hope you have a swift recovery!!❤❤
Congratulations!! I saw so many horror stories before giving birth to my baby but your experience shows that not every childbirth is terrible and horrifying. Honestly, couldn't believe how easy my childbirth was and was even afraid to tell anyone about my experience by the time I saw your video❤
Chrissy is would like to thank you im in my last month before i give birth this is my first baby and im beyond terrified pain and i dont mix well but you have given me so much courage and confidence thank god for my husband idk if i could do it with out him and thank god for you as well Chrissy you have relieved a lot of anxiety and stress
I just had my third on the 12th and watching this is making me want to have another lol. I hope I can be blessed with a big beautiful family like yours! Six kids sounds so fun :)
About to have my second baby after having a pretty scary/traumatic birth with my first. Thank you for calming my nerves by saying you always scared/nervous before because of the unknown. Each birth is different like you said and that gives me hope and clams my nerves.
THANK YOU for representing those of us who have hospital births and epidurals. I always feel like all I see online are at home, natural, water births and absolutely no shade at all but that is just not what I want for myself at all. Thank you also for showing me what a calm hospital birth can look like, cuz my first was a whirlwind and that led to a lot of fear which made the experience traumatic
Wow the nurses were amazing!! They were ok with what YOU wanted 🥰
So gracious, so beautiful. You are blessed Momma. Thank you for sharing this moment with us!❤
My last baby(our 4th) was 10lbs 14oz and his shoulder got stuck😢 so seeing you just effortlessly push a baby just as big out, girl!! You're nurses were right, you're strong!!! This was my last baby because I just had my tubes removed, because all my deliveries just seemed to be getting more intense and scary the older I got. You did amazing!!❤
Wow! Such a peaceful birth! Congratulations Mama. Reliving my first labor and I get scared to even have another. I get all kinds of chills. My trauma is still fresh 15 months later 😅
Your husband was soooo supportive. Bravo mama . Good job , she is precious
God I’m sobbing!! I’m due in two months and I REALLY hoping for a VBAC. I want to experience this so badly! I’m so happy for you lady! Congrats on your new sweet babe ❤❤❤
In tears. What a beautiful day. So happy for y'all!
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I am pregnant with my second baby, my first was 10lbs 5.5oz and had to be delivered via c-section after getting stuck in a sunny side up position. I have been so anxious about having another large baby because I didn’t believe it would be possible for me to have a vbac with a baby of the same size. You have truly given me so much hope and inspiration! Sending love to you and your beautiful family ❤
What an amazing birth Chrissy!! As an L&D nurse, we can all only hope we are as wonderful as the nurse you had! What a great advocate! ❤️❤️ congrats to you and your family!
Thank you so much for this video! I am pregnant with first at 41 and I’m extremely nervous at 31 weeks .. feel that the time is moving fast and thai helped some with my nerves.. congrats on your baby girl!❤
Congratulations mama! Let me just say, you were so calm and serene and together during birth. With my first, I got the epidural but still when it came time to pushing i felt like I had to get her out ASAP. Your team were so calm about it, like yes, take a break, its okay. I pushed for an hour with her. With my second, I progressed fast and I had no pain relief so I was outta control lol. I pushed for 10 minutes because I vaguely remember them yelling at me saying he had decelerations so we needed him out. First baby was 8lbs 13oz, second was 6lbs 2oz but he was a 36 weeker.
Man, after 2 unmedicated inductions I can't even imagine a birth like this. So beautiful, congratulations!
My 6th baby was soooo fast. Four hours. My seventh was literally painless until they decided to pump me with pitocin at 7cm and I still went natural but it took 9 hours. Labors so unpredictable. Congrats on your beautiful baby omg what a doll!
I’m not crying, youre crying! ❤
We will be having our baby 6 sometime soon (I’m almost 35 weeks). Thank you for sharing your journey. Congratulations!🎉
Thank you so much for sharing! I wish to be a mother one day. I’ve watched for videos for months now and it has taught me that my body will be strong enough during and after pregnancy because I AM built for it.
Thank you for posting. Beautiful birth. I'm currently 33 weeks, and this is my first, and I'm so nervous. Seeing this made me look forward to this wonderful experience. I know it could be different, but I now feel a sense of relief, esp seeing how awesome labor nurses can be.
I have followed you for years and as a mom of 7 I love your page.
So watching this video made me realize I still have some ptsd from my hospital birth (I’ve had two home births since). Does anyone have any suggestions how to heal from a traumatic birth experience?
Also big congrats on baby 6!! Praise God she seems happy and healthy!!
Congratulations!!! What a beautiful and peaceful experience! 🥰
Chrissy, I am so thankful for the content you post. It made me cry 💛 I breathed with you. I had traumatic birth because of the nurse. Your content is helping me in recovery 🥰
I’m infertile due to Turner Syndrome but I find birth videos to be very interesting. So great that you were empowered by all the medical staff. Thank you for sharing!
I love watching your channel and even though I don’t plan on ever having kids I adore watching you and your beautiful family. This was truly the most beautiful, calm, peaceful birth I’ve ever seen. I hear all the horror stories all over the internet and from my friends who’ve had kids and they all make it sound like it’s the most awful thing ever and you just made it look so beautiful
Congratulations on your new baby ❤️
🎉PRAISE GOD THIS WAS WONDERFUL ❤HEY BABY NUMBER 6🎉
Big ups to your pelvic floor girl- what a wonder women!! May you and your perfect family be ever blessed xx
lol ive been checking daily for this video! So beautiful! Congrats to you all!
That was one of the most peaceful births that I have ever watched. Good job Mama!!!🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations on the bundle of joy 💜
I just had my 3rd baby in February. She came so fast i didn't have time for an epidural. It was very primal! I couldn't take off my pants in triage. The robe was a good call. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy❤
I had my second a week ago. He was 9.9 pounds and was a shoulder dystocia he was stuck for 5 minutes. I wish my birth went this well. Congrats to you and you family mama!!!
I love how encouraging at the nurses were and how they respected the wishes
Congratulations mama, you did a great job! 💪🏻🎉❤
Watching this made me want an epidural if I have another baby. I’ve had a home birth, emergency c section and two induced VBACs with no epidural… after my 4th was born I was in so much pain I couldn’t even enjoy the time with him. You did amazing!!!
the whole team was so supportive and so sweet i love that!❤
“chunky but tall!” 😭congrats ❤️❤️
Aww what a nice birth experience! Congrats Chrissy and Tim
Great job mama! She is so beautiful! 😍 wish you lots of amazing, cuddly time with your little one! Soak it up 😁 watching your birth, I felt God was present blessings you with this calm birth 🙏❤️ Praise the Lord
So happy for you, I teared up 🥹 she's beautiful!
Seriously, every birth is a miracle, just beautiful. I’ve had 3 and yes, they were all so different! Congratulations on baby # 6 ❤🎉
Ahhhhh! Precious! Congratulations! 💛
Not me laying in bed at 31 + 4 completely blubbering with happy tears because this will be me so soon!
That's the dream birth I wished every mother could have. ❤
