The instruction booklet was really inadequate for explaining banding. Wise to at least include an ability like banding, so you can simulate a little D&D Party on the field.
Wow. That first strike from the tundra wolves is sooo good. killing Serra Angel's with it. Plus adding the banding from the benalish heros, really won both of those games.
9:09 where Tundra Wolves and Benalish Hero band and are blocked by Su-Chi, so you can Bloodlust the Tundra Wolves and they will 5/1 First Strike down the 4/4 Su-Chi. But in this play he instead turns Su-Chi from 4/4 to 8/1 and First Strike down via the 1/1 Wolves.
White weenie/banding is very strong and much stronger than it should be because Tabernacle is so expensive. That is a fundamental tool that just isn’t available to most people and makes the meta a bit unbalanced… people would board in 3 of them just for that deck
@@Leroyantithesisww isn't a very common deck in OS anymore. Not sure boarding tabernacle would make sense in most tournaments. Gloom can be much more versatile against white. Green stompie is more common, but then green stompie has 4 ice storms, which reduces the effectiveness of Tabernacle.
I always ran 3 Armageddon in my white weenie. I feel like I'd rather have those instead of the single fireball and perhaps the 2 blood lust (though those are nice with the first strikers I admit.) So actually I might pull the single Fireball, Serra, and possibly even the Wheel for 3 Geddons... like, if I'm committing hard to the board, do I really want to refill my opponent's hand more often than I want to wipe the lands?
@@JK-dd5im If you stay pink with 8 bolts, sure. But mono white when properly built is actually stronger than pink. The problem is mono white is stronger with Fallen Empires.
@@JK-dd5im Upon more reflection I could see keeping the Wheel to try to recover after a board wipe. But still, if it had been a Geddon, maybe you could have prevented the board wipe. But Pegasi and maybe Preacher are other cards that could stand some scrutiny. Or maybe simply back off a bit on the changes, and pull the single Fireball and Serra for 2 Geddons in maindeck.
Geddon is high variance. It's good when you're ahead as a closer but is a terrible topdeck much more often than the cards you suggest cutting. Serra, Fireball, and Wheel are all effectively reach which is what your game plan wants.
I miss my red white "jank sligh" deck. Here's the list as best I can recall: 4 swords 4 shock 4 savannah lion 4 jackal pup 4 mogg fanatic 3 ball lightning 2 serra angel 1 shivan 4 fireball 3 Armageddon 2 wrath of god 2 disenchant 4 mox diamond 4 r/w dual 10 mountain 6 plains Probably had some other nonbasics. Then, apocalypse came out and I started collecting goblin legionnaires kind of as a joke, and trying to put them in everything, including this, and it made the deck worse because the mana base was more complex. Deck sucked anyway but I still had fun with it.

Loved the white weenie+ deck - well piloted too
🍻
Fun match to watch. Great to see banding in action. It took me about 3 years of playing Magic before I understood banding. 😂
I remember discovering that you can block in one big band with just one bander when blocking, I was like 🤯

Such a fantastic game, it really could've gone either way and that's what Magic, especially Old School Magic, is all about.

Agreed, great to see the Wolves shine in this one 👌
Pink weeney was the deck i played at my first old school tournament. Really fun to see it do so well here.
I really like the inclusion of Blood Lust 🔥

I enjoyed this.
🙌
Both decks have Ancestral Recall and Time Walk. What a *surprise*.
Amazing White Weenie build. Perfect balance and still couldn't come back. Such bad draws on a good deck. I'd enjoy watching more games of these decks.

Totally agree. I would also move all of the Swords to the sideboard and bring in some Army Of Allah.
Wheel let you win games you are losing.

Does this cube play out of the Dallas area? Looking for a group to play with that have 'old stocks' like me
You should ask around on Reddit and Discord. They have os groups there and there are lots of players from the States, I’m sure there’s a Dallas group.

3 Armageddon
2 wrath of god

4 mox diamond
4 r/w dual
10 mountain
6 plains

how many copies of balance are allowed in this format ?
Uno, you can find more rules info here, oldschool-mtg.blogspot.com/p/banrestriction.html?m=1
Who’s playing the Ting Tings in the background 😂 one of my favourite music acts
As always, we were playing in a pub 😂
Gideon doesn’t seem like he’s piloting very well in game two. Anyone else?
Balance > Ancestral Recall, and it's not close.
Timmy!!!!!!
🙌
White + Red + Blue = Purple. This is clearly a Purple Weenie deck. 😂
Love it!
Banding is a terrible ability. When the goal is damage, being able to block 2 creatures with one is pretty good.
I actually find it a pretty good ability. Unfortunately combat isn’t as important as it once was, but still it can be powerful.
taping 45 degrees hits my OCD level so bad it should prohibited by law... so annoying.
