    Titan Skid Steer Flail Mower | Is It Any Good? | Setup and Test Review
    69" HYDRAULIC SKID STEER FLAIL MOWER
    The 69-inch Skid Steer Flail Mower is not driven by a PTO, but instead by the hydraulic remotes equipped on skid steers such as Case, Bobcat, Cat, Yanmar, and more. The Flail Mower is equipped with a heavy-duty gearbox that has a 1:3 ratio that turns the knife shaft. This allows the forged flail hammers to cut down the thick undergrow and brush with ease and allowing it to decompose quicker. Skid steer flail mowers can be connected quickly and easily with the universal skid steer quick tach system so you can start maintaining your fields, orchards, vineyards, or farmland faster. The heavy roller in the back assists in smooth performance even in rough terrain. Besides cutting the tall grass and tough brush, flail mowers cut the material vertically allowing the cut grass and brush to fall to the ground rather than to the sides giving you a finer finish. An adjustable roller allows you to dial in the perfect cutting height for your application.
    - Universal Skid Steer Style Quick Tach Connection
    - Adjustable roller bar for precise cutting height
    - Ability to mulch up to 3-inch diameter material
    - Hydraulic hoses and Flat-Faced Couplers included
    - Bolt-on skid shoes

    Don't forget the gear lube if you buy this skid steer flail mower: amzn.to/3BXLrE7.

    A big bottle of blue lock tight and a few hours might be a good idea. Wouldn't want anything coming apart that close.

    That is basically a tractor 3 point flail mower with a hydraulic motor attached to the PTO shaft on the gear box. Then they replaced the 3 point hookup with a universal skid steer plate. Seems to work ok. Quality issues are because China pretty much makes everything now.

      Why yes it is. I think it's pretty much exactly that. It's light duty but seems to be working ok after I fixed it.

    That seems to fit your John Deere 317 fine, but if you put that skid steer flail mower on a big skid steer I bet it would not last long. You can see it's a light duty mower. Probably will work well for what you are using it for.

      I think a John Deere 333 would be way too much machine for this mower. But a smaller unit like mine fits it well.

    Does pretty good on brush. Have you hit a rock yet? Like a soccer ball sized rock? I'm wondering how it holds up to a situation like that. Good video.

      Those kind of rocks only grow at your place. All I get is lumps of clay out here. But, I bet a big rock like that would probably break off a blade.

    It's sad, but it seems that Titan Attachments removes reviews on their products that are not 5 stars. If a company lets you review products but only accepts 5 star reviews then you can't trust the reviews. I gave it 4 stars, but apparently that is not good enough for them. Just be safe out there.

    How does the 317 handle it? Enough power? How are the hydraulic temps?

    • @SeidelRanch
      @SeidelRanch  5 месяцев назад

      It does well. I have not really seen any temp issues, but I am pretty sure this one is made for lower flow.

    Can you do me a huge favour? 🤞 I can't zoom in enough to see what it says on that hydraulic motor they used. I was thinking of making something like this my self...replacing a PTO implement with hydraulic drive. And when you look for hydraulic motors on Google you open a whole can of worms. Plus they mostly seem to be the 2 hose low speed motors for an auger, for example. What brand and model number etc etc does that say on that hydraulic motor there? 👀 At least it'd give me a staring point. I'd really appreciate it 👌...p.s. you never made that case drain video you promised everyone 😂

      Email me at the address on the About page and I will take a picture of the motor for you. I still have that case drain setup on the list, but I have not done the video. Maybe I can get that done this Easter weekend. Thanks for the reminder. I have a long list of videos I want to make but sadly run out of time.

    Good video, thanks for showing us that this thing is a piece of junk. I won't bother purchasing one for sure.

      You get what you pay for on these. Luckily I did not need a heavy duty one, so this is filling my needs. If I used it commercially or had much more to clear, I would have bought a higher end model from another company. With that said, I am still using this one and it's doing fine.

    Rule number one, slow and steady, you move to fast! Number two NEVER back drag with chains or skirts! I think you have been educated!

    • @SeidelRanch
      @SeidelRanch  Год назад +1

      I have. Thank you. I do find if I move faster it of course cuts worse. Same as with my shredder. The back drag ripping off the skirt I think really means the skit was not designed well to keep it from getting sucked in. Thanks for the info.
