Why do the audio controls not sync across devices? And why are my moderators with full access not able to pause and adjust the volume of my songs so that I don't have to keep constantly minimizing the game I'm playing because a requested song is way too loud? All my moderators can do is skip to the next song. I've tried having streamelements logged in on a separate PC and adjust the volume from the other PC so I don't have to keep minimizing the game, but sometimes it causes the song to stop completely...
It's a logistical nightmare if everyone on the dashboard can adjust everything, there's also no accountability with who does what, it also allows mods to adjust their local volume to moderate videos without it affecting the stream. Mods can still change the volume with the volume chat commands, and that way they're also able to be held accountable.

@@StreamElements oh, I think I explained it wrong. My VOD's are mute because the music playlist are not non copywrite music. I am trying to make a non copywrite music playlist just in case the url is not recoverable through Stream Elements.
Don't have the overlay manager or any other tabs with the overlay open while you stream and if you have other overlays in other scenes in OBS tick 'shutdown source when not visible' in the properties of those browser sources.
But if you only want to broadcast songs, how do you get that to play? Crazy they explained the video on option but not the song/sound only one. :( They also didn't say where to get the widget from ... or did I miss something?

i put the media share widget in a blank overlay then copied the url and put it in a browsersource on OBS and click launch and had that browser tab open and even with requesting and clicking showing on stream it doesnt show up.
If it's in a browser source in OBS you don't need to click launch or have a browser tab open, because it's open in OBS via the browser source. You do however need to make sure the song is a requested song and not a song from your backup playlist though.

I think if the music itself is copyright protected, you are putting yourself at risk, but there are copyright-free music out there. Though you have the option to moderate music users request, there isn't a system to automatically check whether a requested media is copyrighted.

how do I get this to work with the SE store? how can people request songs and pay with their loyalty (currency)? do I set it up through media request or through the store or both?
Media request is separate from the Stream Store. Requesting songs with loyalty points is done through the bot in your chat with the !songrequest command, which should be enabled when Media request is.
If it's overlapping then you likely have multiple overlays in OBS with the MediaShare widget which don't have the option 'shutdown source when not visible' ticked in their properties.
So, setting this up for my streamer. how would the streamer be able to listen to the music too without having to listen to stream. (Im guessing they just listen to the overlay through obs) but idk, just a moderator that has no experience with obs

If you're playing copyrighted music you're always likely going to get copyright flags, that's one of the risks you take when you play copyrighted music.

It sounds like your audio settings in OBS are not set to listen to the device that is playing back your media request audio, which usually goes through your default audio device. Double check your audio settings in OBS.

Yes, you'd add a Sound Item to your store called wtf and then you'd make a command !wtf with the response as: ${redeem wtf} - then when people type !wtf it'll redeem the wtf Sound Item and that will play over the Store Redemption widget if you add it to your active overlay
When I click show on stream on media request, it plays both on the stream and on the media request screen thus producing double (like an echo) sound. How do i fix this?
How can I play music for my stream and not have to hear it for myself. I play a lot of games where it character character interaction and need to hear it? or do i just play with the volume?
i need help. i wonder. even tho i set a loyality price as a request price, the amount of points still dont get withdrawn from the users loyality bank. any tipps?
So just to clarify @StreamElements - Other than !sr or !sr or !sr are there any other ways for viewers to request media? It seems there's only a chat command but no GUI option like streamlabs media request.
Is there anyway for your backup playlist to play in random order? Or will it always play in sequential order. Would be great if you had a large library of songs that you wouldn't have to start with the same songs every stream. Chances are you will not even make it to the bottom of the playlist.
Hey, we used to have this and then it was taken out, I do recall it being mentioned as something we'll be bringing back but I haven't heard any ETA for this yet
What's the diffrence between the !sr-costs and the costs you can change in the settings? If you have the "settings-cost" at 0 but the "!sr-costs" at 30 you will pay 30 loyalty points. What if i set the settings-costs to 30. Do they add up to a sum of 60 points or what happens?
Can you make a video for idiots like me that don't understand why what you're doing is working? I'm following every instruction given in this video and it doesn't work I have downloaded the things you said to and I have no idea what to do with them
Hey, if you have facing any issues even after watching the video, I would suggest to join our Discord here: discord.gg/se and ask in the helpdesk channels.
Hey - I'm not sure what setting you are referring to, but if you ban a user from using Media Request, there isn't a list to see them currently. Its something requested and we plan on adding it, but no ETA on when.
I didn't remember what account I logged into, twitch or youtube. I realized I used the twitch part. Now I can't delete the youtube one too link it to my twitch account. Please Help
Great video! Although, I'm curious how my viewers can pay with loyal points? Is there a certain command that they have to type in order to request songs?
Hey, if you've enabled the viewer requests from the media request page (top left above the video player), viewers can then use !sr or !songrequest to request songs.

Is it possible to have a media request for twitch clips? So viewers can show twitch clips
how do i increase the audio volume of media request its very low :(
Can you also add custom commands that trigger a media sound file? Like !wtf and then a sound is launched? Is that possible? and if so -> HOW?
Yes, you'd add a Sound Item to your store called wtf and then you'd make a command !wtf with the response as: ${redeem wtf} - then when people type !wtf it'll redeem the wtf Sound Item and that will play over the Store Redemption widget if you add it to your active overlay
@@StreamElements Awesome thanks!
No problem :)
Has there been any further ETA for a randomizing the backup playlist? It's a feature I'm heavily vying for!
Haven't heard anything about it recently but I know it's planned, not aware of an ETA
I'm not sure how to get it to work using twitch studio
this option dont even exist in the site , WTF????????
Yes it does, as long as you're streaming to Twitch
When I click show on stream on media request, it plays both on the stream and on the media request screen thus producing double (like an echo) sound. How do i fix this?
Nevermind. I fixed it by right clicking the overlay in OBS, selecting properties, and then ticking control audio using OBS. well done me!
How can I play music for my stream and not have to hear it for myself. I play a lot of games where it character character interaction and need to hear it? or do i just play with the volume?
You can use 3rd party software called a Virtual Audio Mixer, you'd have to do some research on how to get that to work.
StreamElements Thanks
i need help. i wonder. even tho i set a loyality price as a request price, the amount of points still dont get withdrawn from the users loyality bank. any tipps?
We'd have to test this, no other reports have been made of this yet.
could it be possible that the stream has to be online for it to register?
How are ppl able to request stuff tho
They do either !sr or !sr or !sr , either will work.
Thanks
So just to clarify @StreamElements - Other than !sr or !sr or !sr are there any other ways for viewers to request media? It seems there's only a chat command but no GUI option like streamlabs media request.
Do we have to use screen capture for media share? Isn't there an OBS plugin to make life a litte easier?
You use browser source, it's a widget for your overlay called MediaShare. You never need to use screen capture.
@@StreamElements Again a link would have been useful ... albeit it's now August 2022.
Can't I have the songs played just as audio files?
Is there anyway for your backup playlist to play in random order? Or will it always play in sequential order. Would be great if you had a large library of songs that you wouldn't have to start with the same songs every stream. Chances are you will not even make it to the bottom of the playlist.
Hey, we used to have this and then it was taken out, I do recall it being mentioned as something we'll be bringing back but I haven't heard any ETA for this yet
Thanks for the response!
Hey, you can do it from the youtube playlist. If you click the option to play in a random sequence.
Can the filter stop copyrighted content to be shared in your stream?
My volume is not coming through on any playing tracks.
Hey, I would suggest to join us over at our Discord here: discord.gg/se and let us troubleshoot this. :) ^KeiZar
is it compatible with lightstream? im a console streamer looking to add some music to my gaming.
What's the diffrence between the !sr-costs and the costs you can change in the settings? If you have the "settings-cost" at 0 but the "!sr-costs" at 30 you will pay 30 loyalty points. What if i set the settings-costs to 30. Do they add up to a sum of 60 points or what happens?
any updates on the shuffle option?
Haven't heard anything recently but it's definitely on the to-do list
cool cool
Can you make a video for idiots like me that don't understand why what you're doing is working? I'm following every instruction given in this video and it doesn't work I have downloaded the things you said to and I have no idea what to do with them
Hey, if you have facing any issues even after watching the video, I would suggest to join our Discord here: discord.gg/se and ask in the helpdesk channels.
Will it be possible to connect the channel points on my twitch to this? Instead of the loyalty points?
Is there also a free !songrequest system ?
Curious but what happened to the banned users advance setting? I don't see it anymore now
Hey - I'm not sure what setting you are referring to, but if you ban a user from using Media Request, there isn't a list to see them currently. Its something requested and we plan on adding it, but no ETA on when.
@@StreamElements Well if you skip ahead to 9:37 of this video then you'll see what I mean. But looking at the settings now I don't see that anymore
I see - I will poke our developers about this as to why its missing.
@@StreamElements Thank You
I didn't remember what account I logged into, twitch or youtube. I realized I used the twitch part. Now I can't delete the youtube one too link it to my twitch account.
Please Help
I need to link my twitch and youtube onto 1 account instead I have a login for each and when I attempt to link they say it's owned by another account.
This can be achieved very easily, simply grant yourself Full Control using dashboard access.
how do viewers requeset videos? what link do they go to??????
How do you stop ✋️ the music
why can i not find anywhere on the internet what the viewer command is to request??
!sr or !songrequest should do the trick
i now have media share. bad news: i now don't have eardrums
Great video! Although, I'm curious how my viewers can pay with loyal points? Is there a certain command that they have to type in order to request songs?
Yes, there is a !sr / !songrequest command
@@StreamElements It wont work for facebook :S
@@StreamElements and how does my chat choose the moment in the video for using the command?
how does chat request songs if i don't have affiliate or currency option?
If you use stream elements, they have their own currency you can use called loyalty. Check the loyalty tab on the dashboard (left side) and enable it
How do i veiwers request video?
You just showed my what happens and how to do it, but how do i allow them to do it?
Hey, if you've enabled the viewer requests from the media request page (top left above the video player), viewers can then use !sr or !songrequest to request songs.
StreamElements does it work with Facebook
so were can i get a playlist that is free and not get my stream muted for copyrights
IT's like watching a primate saw the branch they're sitting on. Beyond not user friendly.......mental yeast infection
So It only uses RUclips as a media source? I was hoping to use Spotify for music.
did someone know how to let the viewers redeem the video?
Can i use this because I don’t use OBS or Streamlabs and It says i need an overlay to continue the song playing on my stream.
how come i dont see the volume bar
How to prevent it for reseting the song?
