      Claudia Starr Can’t blame you. I hope eventually a rep from Thor sees these comments and figures out how to get their collective shit together. I imagine this video alone has cost them a few dozen sales or more.

      I would doubt it cost too much in sales at all and the reason being is anybody who thinks they're going to get a RV of any sort that's turn key perfect is crazy. Quite honestly most all of this stuff is built in the same place. It's got different badging. It's kind of like the trailer industry is only a couple companies that really own all this stuff and they throw a bunch of different names on it. It's all made over in Elkhart Indiana

      In spite of that they are the only ones that have the garage.. I saw one that had a back door and the raised bed but it was not made for a bike no tie downs .. more like for kiyaks u could make it would to have a ramp to load on and off is just great as the models get newer the garage gets smaller and it is still 30 feet long

    Thor isn't terrible, many RV has their own issues, if you listen to the end, you hear him say how much he actually enjoys it. They are the only maker of this style, so hoping and praying. That Thor watches this and fix the issues. Just like Matt's RV reviews, they usually do listen to our gripes. The only thing I saw here would be two things, the roof, walk and inspect it, and the hapijac, which is in all toy haulers... I think this is a great RV, just wished they make them all wheel drive or 4x4.
    Have you taken it in snow? Wondering about that.

    Really appreciate the review. We were about to pull the plug on this at the 2019 California RV Show. Of course the sales people were convinced that the water leaks (which have been an issue on other Thor models) have all been addressed. Thor claims the Gold standard 200 point inspection and road test but just the poor quality control is very concerning. The seals are horrific and the bubbling on the outside and inside just leads to significant issues down the road. I've had water damage on my motorcycle trailer and that's my primary concern. I agree with the gentleman on the roof to apply sealant yourself so you can have peace of mind. Issues with your bed are also very concerning as we would be unloading our harley and lowering/raising the bed daily. Thanks again for the honest and detailed review. We will be n standby on this model or keep looking for now. I hope Thor watches this video and are able to fully address all your concerns.

    • @xCRO3x
      @xCRO3x  4 года назад +8

      The bed has been a constant PITA for for exactly the reason you said. There is a manual release on it, it takes a while to lower, however I have not been able to raise it manually. Im not a small guy, with both myself and my wife trying to raise it with 1/2 ratchet wrenches I could budge the thing. I have it in for warranty now and am waiting to see what will be done about the bubbling. I can tell you they told me I was SOL with the garbage sealing job so I had my guy seal it. Something to think about. It was obviously sealed like trash from the factory but Thor said it was on us, not them. I left out the part about all the loose screws that were stuck to the roof by excess sealent. This would be an absolutely fantastic rig if it were not for the bad QC.

    • @crawl994
      @crawl994 4 года назад +4

      @@xCRO3x I am sorry to hear that Thor would not stand behind the lack of proper sealing. Its hard to believe Thor's Quality control would release such a unit to a dealer, especially when the seal is a rather easy fix and prevents major issues. We are seeing a trend with RV companies building as quickly as possible to support sales. Even with the high end motorhomes I saw shoddy workmanship at the RV show. Thanks again, your review helped a lot.

      Ridiculous that they would not stand behind the poor sealing on the roof. That is not only to wear out in a year or two. The rear bed mechanism has a bad relay or something. Or the bed gets jammed/cocked when it moves. Too bad no one else offers a toy hauler in a Class C.

    Same problems on a 2016 model. You can buy the drawer locks on Amazon, I buy several because they continue to break. Make sure you buy the same ones. Also check your window blinds Thor only puts two hanger clips and you need four as per the blind manufacturer. I did have a blind come down. The blind manufacturer sent me 8 clips free. I was told chalking is maintenance and they wouldnt warranty it. I bought a tube and fixed it myself. Like you said its cheaply made but I love it.

  • @ginnyk50

    As one whose roof peeled wide open on the interstate in the middle of Kansas, I learned not to trust the dealership or rv repair companies when they say the roof is fine. Our roof had been inspected and “serviced”right before a cross country trip, and we discovered old cracked caulking had been covered over with new, and just as sloppy as you showed. Insurance wouldn’t pay because it had been improperly sealed. Had to park it and buy a new one in the middle of our trip. Don’t buy an rv if you’re not physically able or knowledgeable in basic maintenance of your rig. 👵 Your review is exceptional.

      Hopefully your wall AC unit doesn’t leak every time it rains. I have had mine “fixed” at least 7 times now and they have never been able to fix it. Then ac cabinet is warped and water damaged now and still has not been replaced due to incompetence by Camping World

    • @TheBandit7613

      @@xCRO3x I live 30 minutes from Death Valley and I keep my RV in a big garage. (it doesn't rain here) I would never let a Camping World "technician" touch my RV! I already found a fault with the rear AC drainage yesterday. The water has nowhere to go. I drilled two small holes at the bottom of that raised trim to let the water drain. Water immediately drained out. Thor had no drainage, it was sealed all the way around! This is my 2nd Outlaw. I just downsized to the smaller 29J from the 37MD. I will be inspecting every window for proper drainage too. My big Outlaw came from Camping World. While it was sitting there for weeks without being worked on, it was broken into and all the TV's (and other stuff) was stolen. Camping World said "it's not our problem" If you read the small print, it was my problem. I learned a lesson.
      Take a look at that rectangular frame, outside around the AC. It has no low point drains. it's sealed at the bottom. As soon as I drilled the holes, water came out and it hasn't seen moisture since it was in Austin Texas. That water has been sitting in there. You seem like a smart guy. I think you can solve a majority of these problems without going back to C.W.

    • @xCRO3x
      @xCRO3x  3 года назад +1

      @@TheBandit7613 Lazy Days has attempted to fix it 5 times, got tired of thier ineptness so Camping World was the only other option. I’d say they were equally as worthless but in fact were worse. When I went to pickup the rv every battery was dead including the chassis battery. Now I have to replace the house batteries. I would love to see how you remedied the leak around the AC. Would you mind sending a photo of that or two to my facebook? There shouldn’t be water intrusion to begin with. This isn’t condensation from running the ac, it leaks every single time it rains. It is a stupid fn design. I didn’t realize how poorly designed it was at firt, but now I question why didnt they just use a smaller roof mounted ac instead?

      InvertedMike Make absolutely sure you get a good inspection. I would hire a third party inspector like you would with buying a home if I do this again. I went over the interior as well as I could but had no clue About the roof. You buy a vehicle with a 120k(msrp) and assume something like that would be good to go. To be fair, most of my issues don’t seem to be to out of the ordinary save for the bed glitches and that horrible seal job on the roof. You are right, there is nothing else that compares in this range that has a garage. I looked at the class A outlaw also, but that floorplan I didnt care for nor did I care for the extra weight. V10 in this chassis works well.

    Just bought a new 2023 29T. Haha, the trailer I have for my 3rd Gen 4runner is heavier than your Fiat. Still, it pulled the trailer and the T4R from Ormond Beach back to Tampa with no issues and I didn't even use the tow/haul mode (though I might need to once I have the thing loaded up with all my gear). By any measure, the T4R was much less happy towing the empty trailer from Tampa to Ormond. Even though the empty trailer is only about half the T4R's towing capacity, I still had tow have the ETC in power mode and the overdrive locked out, where as the trailer with the T4R on it is bumping the upper limit if the RV's rated towing capacity.
    At any rate, hopefully they fixed all the issues you pointed out by 2023, but now I'm afraid to go look on the roof. 😅

Our storage compartments leak. We have not had issues with the baed thank goodness. Outr stickers started discoloring, peeling bubbling in just about a year. They look terrible.
    Question about the tv's...When we plug into cable at a site none of the tv's pick it up. Do you have an inverter somewhere where all the tv cables come in and you can get cable? We can't seem to find it anywhere. The only thing we have in the cabinet by the bunk is a DVD player. We were wondering if they didn't give us one? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

      Thor does a great job. All rv's need some attention for maintenance but the good thing is most is preventative. I have had more issues with a Fourwinds and Winnebago. I love my Outlaw. Only a couple issues that I've experienced where I've been able to google a solution or adjust my self.

    My question would be. If it is just this unit and maybe the person that didn't know how to caulk. But typically Thoro does a better job? I love all of it exc ept the water issues. I for sure will climb on the roof to ensure the unit does not have the problems you have noted. Thanks for sharing

    This unit could have been built on a Monday or a Friday and you know the old saying that anything built on Monday, everyone is hungover, and if it was built on Friday everyone was wanting to go out and get drunk, so they just slapped it together to get it done. It's no excuse for poor workmanship and they should be taking the unit back and fixing everything for free, or replacing the unit. This is the poorest built rv I have ever seen. I would be writing a letter to the president of the company and informing him/her of what has happened and demanding that they take care of this issue. The power of the Internet is a powerful thing. If they stand behind their product and take care of all the issues or replace the unit it would go a long way for the company to show what kind of a company they are. Skip the rv dealer ship that you bought it from. Go directly to the manufacturer. They should be the one to stand behind their products. Good luck, and I hope that it all works out for you.

    I been RV'ing 45 years, and Thor has always had a bad reputation for workmanship. I would seal that roof up right away. You really need to inspect the roof of any rig your going to buy. I was looking at a high end Tiffin, and even it had some defects in the roof. Can't take anything for granted these days.

    Thanks for posting this. I want to travel solo with some motorcycles and bicycles when I retire next year and this model was the only Class C toy hauler out there (under/around 30 feet). I have saved it and will refer to it when shopping.

      sportbiker2000 The class A has 2 more feet of garage space. I had to downsize one of my bikes to get it to fit in this one. The Victory I had would not have fit without taking things off or maybe parking it diagonal. That is the unit I intended to get. It was a little heavier though, slower and I don’t think could pull as much. The layout of the class c I like better. It would be nice to have another foot or so of garage space

Wish you would check them out. Can't find one of these units used. The cost has increased considerably.

    Thanks for the review on your rig. I’m in the market for a Class C toy hauler myself, to venture into boon-docking off-grid while being able to lug around my HD Road Glide. Was curious if the that was enough power to lug around the weight, but I guess it’s fine since you lug around 3 bikes and a tow car. We’ll see what other reviewers say, and if they help me stay clear of this rig and find a better alternative for my needs.

    • @xCRO3x
      @xCRO3x  3 года назад

      I only have one bike at a time in mine. There is room and tie downs for 2. I don’t know how long the Road Glide is, remember the overall length of the garage is exactly 8 ft. You lose about two inches with the deck railing though. You could position it so the front wheel is in the doorway maybe. If you want a class c, this is pretty much the only option unless you step up to a custom super C. New mar has a really nice class a that is a big step ip from the Class A outlaw.

    Saw the video I agree those are bad cosmetic things but ! .. Like you I have two bikes and would love taking them with me as the things that need fixing I’m very mechanically inclined so those things would be nothing to fix 😀 the roof I will ask you to help me with that 🙂🙂 .. the market is very limited to class C toy haulers so I definitely still plan on getting one at least a 2015 up to 2018 I would consider a 2019 or 20 .. but it would be mean to leave it to the grand kids to pay it off when I’m gone 🤔.. new ones are $90,000 so a little older one is not so bad besides you can get a older one for almost halfway price .. don’t buy one from Alaska you know the road salt and rust that’s like a cancer that spreads .. again good informative video ... thanks

    Wow, totally unacceptable issues! For what these units cost, this is atrocious. Especially the roof, one of the most important areas of the RV.
    Those storage bays? Doors ate installed upside down. Weird construction lending to the leaks.

    I had a Coachman Concord 300TS it was total garbage, the front cap became disconnected from the main coach body, you could see daylight driving down the road. I find 90% of the American made RV's are just terrible. Considering in Canada we pay a $1:30 on the U$ they are even more expensive than before. I was so glad to sell it 3 years later even though it depreciated $12.5K i was glad to offload it to another RV dealer and let them deal with it. I always said if it was a submarine it would have sunk with all aboard in 5 minutes.

    • @xCRO3x
      @xCRO3x  4 года назад +2

      Colin Goldthorpe At some point there needs to be some legislation passed bringing RV manufacturing at least inline with the auto industry. How these shady companies have skirted by without major lawsuits is confounding. A year warranty on the living quarters is just not ample time to work everything out. Should be 3y minimum standard. I think that would maybe at least help raise build quality.
