- Carburetor rebuilds are obviously easier than engine rebuilds. Just consider the time involved: three minutes rather than five. What? We are of course talking about Redline Rebuild time lapses. In this go round, Davin Reckow rebuilds a Holley 4346, which can be found on Camaros, Chevelles, and Novas equipped with a 396-cid V-8 L78. This four-barrel helps the engine produce 375 hp and is a 780 cfm dual-vacuum-secondary carb, for those keeping score at home.

Hundreds of carburetor rebuilds under my belt and I have never used the method of standing it on bolts that you are. That's genius and I will use this method from now on.
+Koshunae Thanks! We wouldn't have thought of it if we hadn't been shooting time lapses. We wanted the carb to stay in one place as much as possible while Davin was working on it. Ended up being quite convenient!
Yeah, saw that and that’s what I’m using now on my rebuilds. Genius!
Wow all those builds and never did it that way lol Tearing down and Rebuilding is a lost true talent nowadays. Your Good

Yes, we’ve become a wasteful nation, and for some buying new is the better option. Rebuilding is the heart and soul of makes car builds fun and rewarding. Whatever the project may be, do it with soul! 👍🇺🇸🙏
Hi, I have seen that done for decades though have never done it.
I have 3 or 4 to rebuild, I may try it.
Do not stop making these videos, they are excellent
In my experience when rebuilding a Holley carburetor, 10% of the time is disassembly, 80% is gasket scraping, and the remaining 10% is reassembly. I hate scraping gaskets.
Looks like they used the blue reusables on the assembly. Smart move.
I get the worse off with a razor scraper [carefully] then use the wire brush on the bench grinder for the rest. Not so bad then.
Having used cheap kits and all the gaskets stick I have used genuine Holley now for a long time. They do not stick near as bad and can generally take several removals of bowls and block before needing replacement.
Cost more but cheaper in the long run.
i guess im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account??
I somehow forgot my password. I love any help you can give me
@Leandro Gatlin instablaster :)
@Emmanuel Alexzander I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
The one who disliked this video his name is Fuel-Injected.
Or her?
It was Vic...
I haven't disliked the video yet, but I do enjoy the fact that I've never had to rebuild a fuel injection system... Probably swapping to tbi, carburetor power valves will be the death of me
i met that guy and he was totally fool-injected
Who doesn't like a controlled fuel leak?
awesome video. love these time lapses.
Always a pleasure to watch the videos you guys post, please keep the time lapse videos coming, they are very magnificent to watch! Thumbs up!
These have become my favorite videos on RUclips. God KNOWS how many times i've watched the Flathead Ford rebuild. How do you all film those gorgeous time lapse panning shots?
Thousands of photos put together
@Hagerty love the time lapse rebuilds, I've watched the sbc multiple times. Keep them coming. Thank you
Mooooooaaaaar, pleaseeeeeee!
These are unexpectedly soothing videos. I love them. Despite that my cuter half prefers "Barn find hunters" (as she's not into "die hard engineering"), we both love classic American cars (and some modern, too) and all that unique spirit encompassing them.
Thanks for allowing us to witness all this, at least from the rear seat.
This is awesome. It looks so much simpler when it’s organized.
All of the time lapse videos are awesome, his name is DAVIN the best ever. Thanks guys
Love these! Ford Flattie is still my favorite one.
These videos are sweet. Keep on doing them. They are fun to watch
I love these videos, keep them up!
Can't get enough of these time lapses! also great background tunes as always
That music. I watch one video of yours before I go to sleep. Its calming.😊
another amazing video. This Channel just blows me away.
So many parts coming together to help make magic 🔥
Este canal es uno de los mejores, en presentar gente que sabe de verdad como armar partes mecánicas!!!!!!!!! FELICITACIONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Muchachos lo hacen bien!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love these vids. They are sooo soothing as strange as that sounds
Y'all are hitting it out of the park with these videos.
very nice.
Thanks for the inspiration
Keep on trucking (from France) !
My late husband used to do this, amazing to see it on the Tube
thank you for reliving those ol relics... i like 'em ol school.
As a mechanical Muppet these videos are brilliant , they're an education . Keep it up . Thank you .
I really love your time lapse videos, moar please!
Thank you so much. I learned a lot about Holley carburetors.
I'm not crying....because of all the fond memories of rebuilding carburators...I just got gumout in my eyes...
cool thanks for the technical info in the description, looks like an old crusty from back in the day. great stuff again guys! thanks. love this channel! ▪☆☆☆▪
Other girls give me weird looks in class when they find out what I’m watching.

Be a leader cutie pie.

Awesome video and feel relaxing while watch 😊
This is becoming a lost art.. awesome video
Keep going with these videos its awesome!
Love the work u guys do keep it up cool videos friends great work 👍
Guys you are made unbelievable videos in every way.
Skilled indeed! great vid thanks!
I could rebuild a Holley in my sleep. You never forget the smell of Berryman's chem dip (carburetor cleaner), the grief of blown power valves, leaking metering block gaskets, non-functional mixture screws, etc etc etc.
I love this channel so much, you guys put out some of the greatest content on youtube. Keep up the amazing videos!
u guys need to make more of these time lapse vids they are great
This editing is amazing
Great stuff guys.
Great! Thanks for sharing.
Great Work . Congrats .
Love it!
This video is so peaceful to watch... relaxing. Personally I can never get the float right on my 750... keeps dying over speed bumps
fukin love these time lapse rebuild fron hagerty. wish for more. especially those engine rebuilds.
More to come! 3 more engine rebuilds by the end of the year!
Just awesome! I do have a Holley 4 Barrel 750 CFM Double Pumper for my 57 Plymouth Belvedere Sport Coupe!
this video is amazing
Damn this is so satisfying.. if only engines could be sorted this effectively and fast in reality1!
This motor is mechanical art to the highest degree 👌
Beautiful !
awesome man doing awesome things :o
This is candy to my eyes!
Cool vid!
from saudi arabia ..
i like this channel , when i see video , i feel i want to be a car mecanic .
Learning about Saudi in school right now. Don't die my man 👌
Ra1ny
I wonder if i'm the only one that would want this slowed by about 25% so I can better see what he's doing.
Your right
RUclips let’s u choose a slower speed if u want
RUclips lets you slow it down 25%. It sounds like you're about to be possessed though.
Thanks for reminding me of that feature. What always becomes a problem for me is those small air passages which are sometimes blocked with something like a plug or small expansion type cap. I always wonder if I should really be drilling those out or not. Always end us with some extra parts left over that I probably should have used.
i love this kind of videos
makes you appreciate just how intricate cars are
Short and sweet
Love the vids! Definitely need more views and subs
nice work
and good job men😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Just amazing
this is amazing
amo estos videos de time lapse
Very cool man, I did the same with a motorcraft double barrel
Love the video.
im a weber man but i have great respect for holley carbs. just something i noticed.... i know u love your wife a lot but i suggest removing the ring. im afraid it might just hook and cause serious injury while working. keep up the good work. i like ur videos.👍
My metal shop teacher has the same fear, so he tattooed his ring on for when hes working
I wish Davin could rebuild my 1969 4150 marine carb in a video, it could use a good restoration. Excellent work.
A+ memory man = jealous:)
Amazing, dismantling is the easy part but assembling with no guide is confusing. Great video, from The Philippines.
espetacular video saludos desde Chile....
Recordé a mi papá y sus carburadores cuando yo era niño...
Loved it
iv watched this 121,634 times ))), gets better each time
that was perfect
thanks
He is a keeper Hagerty, do NOT let him go !! :- )
Clever dave, does engines, auto boxes , repairs peoples projects in there garages as well
Last carb rebuild was Qudraflush from the 70's. Love the idea of the bolts for a stand.
i love this videos
these*
Thanks for the super awesome video showing how it's done. I'm going to buy a new one......😂
I think that i love this video... :)
Nice!
I love your background music
Please enlighten us on the camera motion control equipment used. Fantastic results!
hey great video! hey just wondering did you use just a standard carb cleaner bath or a special parts solvent, or your own mixture? what did you use for washing/soaking the carb overnight?
Awesome
How can you find the suitable brand-new gaskets? That thing is so old, I am impressed that you can still find parts for it.
dope!!!
Steven V. Said it right. I used to cut a 4x8 wood block butterfly bit clearanced for... The Butterfly's. It would get soaked then make another for next carb.🤦 For years. I'm doing a double pumper today. On my day off :( the taste of B12. On a Sunday at the shop, also catching up on a taco 2.4l cyl-head timing set job. Parts back order sucks during this Covid B.S.
I rebuilt a Carter AFB on a 66 GTO as a youngster. First time but with a diagram. Took me a while but went OK. I was told a Holly was about the same but leave the Quadrajet to an expert. I learned rebuilding not to hard...tuneing correctly was above my skill.
Please, more time-lapse and more engine test!
Looks like some kind of Lunar lander as it spins on the four legs. 😉
I like towel system 👍
you are the best
Hey guys, excellent timelapse, good music too! I was wondering what was the liquid in the bucket to get the parts cleaned? And also to give a great brand new used look why not use vapour blasting? I hear it is growingly popular there. Thanks
Well you asked 5 years ago, I was wondering the same. After this time Im guessing they aint going to reveal answer. Not so good.
What dolly am are you using? Great video.
Hey im about to do my first carb rebuild. Any tips and tricks?? Also what is that chemical you sit the parts in?
