Whaddup Ian, deck is sweet. Just a quick 'umm actually' sort of comment 😓- You mentioned at 5:44 that you would only net mana with Mox Amber if you had your commander out, but as a reminder Mox Amber actually can tap for mana from Planeswalkers as well.
As a compliment to Alter of the Brood, Have you thought about using the Initiative? White Plume Adventurer or Sarevok's Tome could work. With infinite ETBs, you can infinitely go into the undercity and go down the path of dealing 5 damage to target opponent. This doesn't get around one ring protection, but could be helpful to actually close games out.
I saw this card and thought it was amazing and all my friends thought I was insane. Needless to say I feel validated and I’m thrilled to see what you did with it :)
I am so stoked about this deck tech!!! I had a Yorion, Sky Nomad light-stax list which I retired because I was having trouble closing out games. It was so good at controlling the table and setting up outrageous value engines with Yorion + Felidar drawing cards on everyone's turns and resetting all of your mana. I wasn't on Naru Meha or Altar and I think those lines will be just what I need to close out games. Thanks so much! Yorion back on the menu! Love your beach of a deck
any thoughts on acrobatic maneuver or scrollshift against blur? I feel being a nonblue spell is often pure upside and TECHNICALLY scrollshift can do extra
so funny thing is I was doing altar of the brood lines in derevi because of the entire basis of this deck which is flickering infinitely! I really enjoy the idea of this deck and will probably be looking into doing a little more with some ideas from this list because quite honestly, really cool deck tech!
NGL, I almost would've put money on you showcasing a Rev, Tithe Extractor Cedh deck. I just finished my list a day ago & played a few games. It is actually really viable if you can get her out quickly & she sticks. I know mono-colored decks aren't usually that strong but my reasoning behind it was, she can create treasures each turn & grab spells not normally in her colors to cast. The amount of redundency within the Cedh decks at my LGS means I theoretically could combo out using two exiled spells from two different opponents.
so do you basically keep drawing until you get altar of the brood? i see the infinite blink effects but it doesnt really end with damage or mill without brood.
Or extorting via blind obedience. In playing this so far Altar of the Brood scares people, but they'll generally let Blind Obedience sit on the table because they're only thinking about the entering tapped part and not the possibility of infinite mana + infinite extorts.
Hey why play archivist of oghma over faerie mastermind? With you playing smothering tithe it seems like mastermind has more upside plus it’s a way to dump excess mana into it if need be. Do you find archivist tends to draw more cards or it is just because it’s more bowmasters proof
I've been toying with a jank CEDH around Volo, Itinerant Scholar and Folk Hero and this list actually gave me ideas to fill in my last 8 slots I just couldn't fill
While there are a number of specific inclusions that are looking to exploit the P/T clause of the commander, it's nice just how often Plagon reads "ETB: draw a card for each good creature you control."
Been testing it and I agree with comparisons to Nadu and how you storm starving for mana. You said that Hullbreacher may be cut, how about Valley Floodcaller or Isochron for mana combos? Also is there a discord for Plagon?
Floodcaller doesn't win here unfortunately as plagon won't trigger the caller. Infinite mana combos without an outlet in the zone are usually pretty problematically bad
Plagon is a great piece in Brago, but I’ve been convinced to make the jump to this deck. Loved Raff in testing and managed to pull off a combat win with him.
This video inspired me to actually play Arena for the first time in months and make the deck there for Brawl. Have you ever considered Azure Beastbinder? It's a card that put in work when I played Derevi, and there's a use case for it sniping opposing stax pieces to let you combo off second main phase.
Dude this is so spicy, I need to put this together. Any thoughts/opinions on potential flex slots or weak points you think are more cuttable than others, perhaps? I saw GAAIV in the sideboard and I stan that card way too hard lol but I'd love to run it
Ever thought about doing a build of this deck with persistent petitioners? They're all 1/3, and Plagon could help you find the pieces to win like Bruvac or Intruder Alarm.
I started playing something similar in brawl on Arena last week, and had also been looking to dip my toes into CEDH for awhile now. Seems like this might be a good entry point. Thanks!
Is merchant scroll something you would consider in this deck since it doesn’t have the issue of mystical tutor of giving up the draw step and still grabs blur and ghostly flicker?
Lots of overlap with current "bant" builds. But love the spin and people will love the star fish before the sponge Bob drop. Good timing on this list. Respect
You've probably seen it, but Relic of Legends is a new take on an old classic: Honor-Worn Shaku. For our intents and purposes, it's the same card except only creates colorless mana.
It feels like Trinket Mage can have a very good place in this deck….. 🤔🤔 It can search for altar of the brood, any of the zero drop artifact creatures, any of the mana positive rocks, grafdigger’s cage, and is blinkable…. 😇
I'm just starting to dip my toes in CEDH, but why is Plagon a better choice than other blink commanders? Is it mostly because card draw is stapled on it?
I initally thought that Naru Meha was Naban, but would you consider Naban in the deck too because a lot of the impactful creatures aree wizards and it is another way to double etb triggers. Great deck tech!
My original thought with Plagon was more artifact leaning, was one of your earlier iterations explore that already since you’re already playing with the three 0drop creatures & Urza/Sai/Emry all have big butts?
@@ivanjoseph2224 haven’t thought about until now, good call! I think it’s probably a bit worse by a considerable margin but I could see a world where it is still worth testing
@ Thanks for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate your thinking process and approach to the game. Honor worn shaku probably dosen’t make the cut do to the 3 cmc and only tapping for colorless. Either way keep innovating and creating awesome content.
I saw your original list from your top16 and i took it and changed it for me and have been doing fairly well and enjoyed most games with plagon. However i did add Thassa/Lab Maniac for the odd cases you can win with them.
It should go down in history that Mox Amber and Teferi were made for each other because with Kitty you have infinite blue and white mana with no commander needed to win….. it’s GG because of the mox/2 color planeswalker and you will have the whole deck in your hand already
Btw gilded drake is fr busted in yhis sort of deck. Play og flicker alongside phelia if you arent already. Ive played a lot of abdel adrian. Never had money to go out and do a bunch of tourneys but a lot of this decks layering reminds me of abdel. Heavy air on moxfield if you wanna see the too short history of my noted edits to it.
With Scheming Fence you want to barter with the Necro player. Tell them you will let it resolve if they are chill and only draw like 3 cards for the first activation. Step 2: LOL
Ive been tinkering with patrick star I would suggest adding aethervial and or scrollshift Vials help you out casting random creatures and since your curve tops out at 4 it wouldnt be that bad Scroll shift isa redundant copy of blur that isnt that bad
The Patrick secret lair is gonna be baller

It always confuses me, when you're wearing sleeves.
Is mayonnaise a cEDH viable commander?
Abdel Adrian and candlekeep sage has been reborn as a meta deck.
This is one of the most (high-power) casual EDH cEDH lists I've seen you play. I love it.
