After you play a few hundred hours you can almost instantly tell how good a connection is, and adjusting to lag is such a huge part of pvp. Sadly the good connections are so much rarer than trash dialup, Brazilian WiFi or the dreaded Chinese vpns. I know in many cases it’s not their fault but god damn if it doesn’t suck dealing with it.

By raw skill you mean “I must utilize every single cheap tactic to win including glitches.” Which isnt a bad thing necessarily as an invader but chase does just as well and rarely if ever uses quickstep, and I’ve never seen him resort to glitches.

Just personal opinion, I've fought both chase and G9 and while it was clear that Chase was better than me and the outcome proved that, fighting G9 was just different. Its like hes inside your head making you do exactly what he wants at all times. While they're both fantastic players, fighting G9 is just terrifying

If anything I want to see G9 take Chase on a ride to kill meta, shitters and gankers togheter again.
I'm seeing a lot of people comparing the two and (understandably so) favoring their prefered content creator or classifying being better as a subjective thing. Comparison are inevitable, it's like a sport, in this case depending on things like net, latency and such but the principle is the same, without using gamebreaking methods, someone one is going to be better than someone else at the game, given the possibility to use the same tools, that's just true, but don't confuse things.
The type of content they both make is directed at different sectors that play dark souls 3, Chase's being more oriented to the average player and casual pvper, in a way that shows him off in his skillset for the biggest amount of people to easily enjoy. G9's being more heavily focus on... let's call it heavy or hardcore aspects of pvp, fighting shitter, ganks *purposely* at the cancer that is Pontiff, bowglitchers, other more than fairly skilled ramdos pvpers. A type of content that most people who are deeply into DS3 pvp watch. Comparing their type of content is stupid because it does depends on your preferences.
But one is better than the other on a skill based level, Chase is undeniably better than the great majority of people, but he does have a more casual aproach and playstyle, he knows how to weapon swat quite competently, pivot backstabing and spacing with whiff punish, but he mostly fights against pvers, and casual pvpers. Whereas G9 lives and breathes pvp, has near perfect weapn swap with intricate arrangement that benefits him, does embraces the meta and althought you may argue that it limits him, not in possibility of honing his skills with the better tools for the job, wich does make him better when using them.
Now, that you prefer one's playstyle to the other's doesn't make them better or worse, it just means you like Chase or G9 more, wich is perfect. At the end, you watch Chase for the easy to consume entertainment that is hunting pvers and casuals and you watch G9 because he is just so damn good, like you would enjoy the craft of any pro of a sport you are a fan of, both make the DS3 pvp community stay alive for the time being in their respective ways.

I don't understand why people try to compare different content creators. Both Chase and G9 are great people and excellent players in their own right. They both invade in different ways and enjoy playing using their own methods, so it's not really fair to compare them based on skill
The reason we talk about it is because g9 is better than chase and he doesn't get the credit he deserves from the masses

One could say that G9 is a more skilled player because he regularly defeats tryhard ganks at Irithyll and the Ringed City, and is better at utilizing the meta. One could also say that Chase is a better player because he plays honest and doesn't use murky hand scythe or glitches on a regular basis, is also able to pull off more flashy and cool looking techniques, and is often seen defeating organized ganks of his viewers who are also experienced in the game. Both players excel in different respects of the pvp experience, so it's not definitive.
Chase's videos make me smile and G9's videos make me despair
They are both over 50 times more skilled than me, and I am far impressed by virtually every fight either of them do

I feel like people like to say chase isn’t good because he invades noobs and doesn’t go to pontiff etc. Which is true. He does invade noobs and doesn’t really like the meta playstyle, but he is still a very good player and is near top tier. He just prefers to play honest. If you want to see chase at his absolute best, watch the stream he did with jeenine where they get invaded by really good players like amish, holloweed, gabri and some of chase’s fans. If you look at gabri’s player tier list chase is near the top of c tier w ppl like amish and holloweed and you all know how good hollow is. Plus I’ve heard ppl say when it comes to duels he’s ab as good as pepp so that’s something right? But at the end of the day chase doesn’t do enough or hasn’t done enough to be compared to jeenine. They both have their own ways of playing and enjoying the game. Jee is a top tier meta duelist and invader and chase is a really good player that plays for fun and people should stop saying he’s bad. But I agree they should collab again.

Coming to a G9 stream from Chase, fighter, hollow, like I compared G9 to them. At first I thought chase was better but now going back it's pretty obvious the player level each streamer faces. Chase has improved a ton, but I still dont know if he'd survive a G9 gank.
He wouldn't, but chase doesnt follow the meta as piously as g9, he fucks around and doesnt focus alot either.

It's not really that one player is better than the other (Because they're not. Cockiness is dumb.) They both have different play styles. If you were to optimize them to be fitting, Jee less try hardy and Chase less fun.

5:56 G9 got about 494k souls from that one kill. I believe when invaders kills a host or phantom, they get 4% of their most recent levelup soul cost. so 494k souls will put that shitter at pretty much exactly 802.

That's funny as hell but if anything it makes me sad because G9 and other top tier players deserve just as much recognition and reward. But the people who play/consume this game's content would rather watch someone memeing on pve players.

If G9 had been a god at Overwatch or Siege, there's a market there for professional players. But Dark Souls is much less entertaining to the majority of gamers.

Actually yes, you cannot compare two different dudes who fight in different areas against different people(if shitters are considered as people, of course) on different platforms. Jee is killing tryhard shitters in pontiff, ringed city and duels, while Chase is using Wex Dust mod on pc to invade in all other areas. Also Chase avoids pontiff and duels. So both Chase and Jee are cool guys with good skills, but they are very different. The only thing that they have in common is that they both play DS3, that is all

Anyways covenant spirits can invade up to 138 sl on sl 90. And being sl 92 or something like that enables you to do it as a mound maker too!

Chase is a good player and has better fundamentals than many tryhards actually, and even longtime players from what I've seen. With that said, you cannot become top at this game without fighting top players in 1v1s consistently. It's as simple as that.
A lot of us do the comparison because we watch you and Chase pull off some amazing things on stream. It’s not meant to insult or anything, most of us can only wish we could be in the same realm. I only got into pvp after COVID lockdowns and you two putting out so much content has kept me sane. Thank you.

Chase and G9 are both great players, but honestly, Chase isn't as good as G9. Most of the times chase is fighting casual players going through the game or just trying to go through the Ringed City, while G9 is pretty much always Killing shitters, over leveled and unscaled people. G9 is a tournament champion btw.
I don't even think Chase knows how to estus Refill, he's too much of a nice guy to get tactics like these just to win, he's mostly out there for the fun. He even let some people heal in the Ganks just so he can have more time playing against blender gankers.
He does know how to do most glitches but refuses to use them at all, even estus cancel.

I’ve said it before - if you’ve never fought one of the top players you don’t understand how much better they are than you or me. JeeNiNe is arguably the best player in the game.
That said, Chase is much better than a lot of people give him credit for. I’ve fought Jee and Chase both a number of times and they’re both a lot better than I am. Jee however is pretty clearly the best and I like both players, so I have no axe to grind.
I can't say for sure he's better, but he's certainly more humble.
pvp-wise in elden ring though.. you do have to account that Jeenine limits himself not to use bhs, moonveil, RoB and whatnot while Chase is "meh... cancer v cancer"

Them dueling wouldn’t prove anything. It would simply give chase experience but crush the beliefs of the more casual community seeing not being the best. The two have enough respect for each other and know it wouldn’t help either of their channels. I believe Jeenine said this before when people wanted them to duel. But yeah that stream is prob of my fav ds3 vids; two worlds/communities coming together.

I love Chase and he is definitely better than probably 99% of players, but he's not a top tier, arguably one of the best players in the world, like G9. There is still a pretty big difference there. Whatever tier of player is right below the top tier try hards, Chase would probably be at the higher end of that skill range. If Chase really wanted to I'm sure with some practice and coaching from someone like G9 he could probably get close to top tier level, but at this point in the game's life why would he tbh? He already seems more than sufficiently skilled for what he primarily does, it's working well for him, and honestly his invasions against mostly PvErs seems like a lot more fun than the invasions G9 does against the absolute bottom of the barrel biggest degen shitters this game has to offer lol. The real question is when is their next survival stream. That was really fun to watch. Chase still did really well in the survival stream I saw him do with G9.

Chase is making content that is closer to most of the playing styles of most of the players of the game, the casual player.
G9 is making content that using every edge of the game to fight.
Chase is doing the same thing a casual player does but better, G9 is doing a completely different thing compared to a casual player.
They are not even in the same playground.

He just plays against casuals and his fan base mostly, I watch his streams too and I can't even remember the last time he unblocked Pontiff in wex dust. It makes me kinda sad sometimes cause I feel like if he actually wanted to and stopped caring about what his fans wanted to see he could definitely become a top level player, I remember when these glitches were first being found he was using them all the time and improving quickly until his chat got whiny af and he stopped

I like them both too but G9 can 1v5 people that chase would lose a duel to. Its not even a question, G9 wins tournaments chase is just fun to watch, even if he's also good and can probably defend himself at meta most of G9's chat can destroy chase and anyone that has more than 200 hrs at the game should be able to realize that.
havent watched the video yet. Love both players. I have fought and beaten Chase in the past. I have fought G9 in fight club he hosted in PC in the past. I was absolutely disected. Never had a chance. Just saying, they are not even close!

Tbh I play on my own level, since Jopeymess Music is better than both of you and I was his mentor, but I'd say you and Chase are both great players. Chase obviously is purely dedicated to invasions and I'd say he's not on your level, after all, you are #3 duelist (Jopeymess and myself being #2 and #1) in the world. First invasion: The other player has to play on your Lapp to be able to parry murky :)
As a fan of both, I have to say that they r both great invaders but have different play styles. Chase’s play is clean because he never use any glitches like cancel or refill and he doesn’t use murky. Gee will do everything he can to win, that’s the difference between them, and it’s a concept thing you can’t simply say which is better.
See I feel if no one used glitches whatsoever and didn’t resort to cheap tactics like Murky, the comparison wouldnt be so far off but since chase hates that kind of stuff, it’s obvious g9 is “better,” but I feel as if it only because chase hasn’t put in the time to abuse the game to the max to be on par with shitter ganks who think they’re good because they estus cancel and bow glitch. However I will say I can see myself fighting chase and at least getting a hit in whilst g9? I cannot fight people that estus cancel and murky honestly and whenever I’ve come across certain players like g9 I get made their bitch. Like its a whole other level of ds3 pvp, which I respect. All I will say is I hope Elden Ring is more balanced so we dont have this conundrum of players that break the game to win and ones that dont, and thats what differentiates “casual pvp” from “serious try hard pvp.”

It's really hard to compare someone vs yourself being someone who has played the game for so long should know that everyone plays different and you can't determine that by just saying so, only way to prove that point is to do a fight and test that because you and chase are both great players but you really underestimate him it seems.
All I know is chase is a chill guy; he’s not really a sweat.
But I’m pretty sure people would see more potential in him if he was more tryhard and used more glitch-like tech.

Chase and G9 are good players but G9 is better for the tech's . I never saw chase do a estus cancel or change the rings or weapons quickly, cancel animations or the knowledge of weapon arts at level of G9.
Chase does weapon swaps but not when he's surrounded by a gank

I mean when you look at the videos the two make, the players they face, and how they fight them. Its reaally easy to tell if you have any idea what pvp in this game looks like. Like i used to think chase was the best too because he basically never looses and the moment i found about ab jee and other top players i could immediately tell they were better than chase or on his level. I mean look at his last video thumbnail, he’s parrying a yellow one handing a dragon slayer greataxe and jees last thumbail is him running around the map trying to survive vs three tryhards. But to newer players it would make sense why ppl see him as the best, i fell for it too, no hate to chase I enjoy his content
