ONCE MORE is a humble attempt to rediscover the fabled glory of Ghazals which had once taken the sub continent by storm during the 80s and 90s.
With the onslaught of fast, hip shaking numbers and changing taste of the the modern generation, Ghazals are gradually taking the backseat. Worse, the pathetic plight of Urdu language and insistence of the Urdu poets to write as catchy couplets as possible to please the masses also has contributed to the sorry plight of ghazal writing and singing. It is therefore thought that instead of lamenting over what has happened and merely resting on the past laurels of glory, once a humble beginning should be made to choose meaningful Ghazals with new similes and symbols so that the general allegation that ghazals are becoming repetitive with predictable lines can be avoided.
The Singer & Composer, Shishir Parkhie is a very talented emerging Ghazal singer who has been performing live Ghazal concerts regularly all over India and abroad. Shishir's earlier Ghazal album Ahteraam also released by T- Series was very well appreciated all over.
Heart touching, mellifluous compositions by Shishir Parkhie are a marked departure from the cliched style of ghazal singing.
