I never had Palusami till the late 90s. My Samoan BF Masui Allen family's one. Then he moved to Cali. Back in 2018 I went to Cali to visit him. He was dying of cancer. For the 3 days I was there visiting, Palusami was all i ate.
Been thinking about him lately. And craving his family's Palusami. 😞 I don't want to bother them.
So I've been looking for a recipe that looks identical to their's. I think I've found it. Thank you, I appreciate this video. Can't wait to make it sometime this week.
Mahalo 🤙🏽

😋 Yum! Make these whenever I can get hold of taro leaves! A not so easy commodity in US. Steaming is more succulent then baking! Nostalgic for a real luau😪
OMG I'm in Perth and drewling. The palusami with pesupu looks amazing.
I use silverbeet because there is no luau here.
I'm so loving your videos but so homesick for Samoan ai.

Talofa Pauline. I like that very much. Good to know ♥️♥️
Faye Vids it was absolutely yummy, I do night shift , so took it for my dinner , love watching your videos, didn’t know you could use the larger taro leaves , my neighbour always said NO you use the smaller leaves 😬😬 either way still yummmm
The neighbour is right. My dad never used the big leaves. But if cooked right, nothing wrong with using big leaves. I’m glad your Palusami turned out good, Pauline 🥰👌🏼
Loving the kai aunty very mouth watering ❤
Hi Faye, wow I must say I have never ever seen this being made before, it looks fantastic and I throughly enjoyed watching and listening to you make them. Could you possible make Fa’ausi one day? I saw this on Pinterest and it looks so delicious.
I think she just made it not long ago. Just look it up on her videos 😍
Hi Angie, hope you’re well.
Yes, as Sami has said, I have already made Fa’ausi. It’s 6 or 7 videos before this one.
I hope you find it. And Angie, nice to see you back on YT & showing support to everyone like you do. 💖💖💖
@Sami, Thank you for that. High 5 👋🏼💕💕

That's why I gave up making this, the oven burnt the leaves. But thanks for the tip I'll try steaming next time.
I love lu’au but I usually make it in a pot. I never thought of your idea. It looks so easy the way you demonstrate it. Looks so delicious too and I’m going to make it today. Thank you Faye. Oh by the way, with all the yummy food you make so rich but how come you don’t put on weight? What’s your secret? I love your daughter’s kitchen too. So well organized. Ia manuia pea au Kuka manaia.❤️🌺
My uncle just 2day shipped some palusami/ahi poke/pork laulau from Hawaii to Texas, and we ate that for xmas dinner with some baked Taro. We watched this video while we ate our food. =)
Buggah look ono, mean!
Mama Faye your palusami looks better than some of the men's palusami🤣
I've tasted a few palusami that some of the men made (it was Kaka🤣🤣🤣🤣)
Yours looks straight legit & professional lol💞
P.s.
Love the haircut💞
Hi Florence.. I like the “professional” bit 😂🤣 Yeah boii Lol 😂
Thank you for the vote of confidence (♥️)
Aww yummo my fav🤤 Can I ask where do you get a steam pot like that from?
I liked the way you prepared and cooked it in such a relaxed way. Wish you could come to our home and cook it for me and my wife.
Kia ora kei te reka ..nga mihi ki a koe
Instead of placing the foil and leaves on your left hand you can also place it in a bowl. That way you have both hands free to work with
