Still have my lid, (steel), C.S.P.E.P, SLR and M16 cleaning kits, (spare gas plug inc. ;-) ), S6, smock and the "laundry bag" to chuck your 'chute into. Always remember how bloody quiet it was after the exit. Except for the occasional, "Steer away", and various other expletives. Best job I ever had.

We in South Africa have had the exact same training, as our founders members came to England in 1960 to be trained and become instructors who founded 1 Parachute Batalion in South Africa . We were 60 years old this year on 1st of April and we still train the same today.

This is EXACTLY how I remember lobs back in the day. Until now, I've only seen stuff videoed before or after my time.
Nice to see the despatchers wrestling with the static lines afterwards - never seen that before.

Gaz, we're you on the jump with Pickey, where he puked so much when we were going low level through Wales, that they stopped him jumping? He was proper green! Port stick. I can remember the puke flowing past my feet, thinking this isn't going to end well. 🤣

Despite the “rivalry”we loved him & his Working Dog which was a Spaniel at the time & looked after them both on the ground as they went about their business .
