I read Joby Warrick's book 'Triple Agent' about this event in Khost, Afghanistan. It was a good book, but horrible how everything turned out.
I visited Chapman while in Khost a few months after this incident and their security was insane. Not like any other base I've ever been to. They required a manifest with ID's before even making it through the gate.

I wish I had done something with my life like these men here. Granted I probably wouldn’t have passed many of the aptitude or physical exams. I always want to find a peaceful solution to conflicts. However, it is really comforting to know there are elite men and women ready to hunt down our enemies when we are attacked.
You can still do shit now! Thats the whole point of the “mindset” going regardless of how you feel. In your case go do something that benefits you that is a challenge. Dont think about it at all. Just go. Anyways stay strong and safe❤️💪
You know a challenge that is attainable but something that is mentally very difficult to go out and actually do. Maybe its simple like going on a 30 minute walk. Or not eating fast food for 10 weeks. Go out to a weird social event just because!
@@Elk-_- I get what you are saying. However, I had multiple sections of my body cut open in order to install electronic stimulation devices. The injuries prior to surgery would’ve disqualified me.

We made a human mistake. We WANTED ol Bin Drinkin so BADD that we let our guard down when we THOUGHT we'd made a new ally .Our Security Protocol was to SEARCH ALL PERSONS AND ALL VEHICLES BEFORE ALLOWING ACCESS TO OUR COMPOUND. We didn't do that as we wanted to show our new recruit our belief in him. To show him respect and trust.. Thus we lost a lot of DAMN GOOD men and women. In conclusion we were woefully reminded that there IS,A REASON we have security protocols with NOOOOO EXCEPTIONS. HARD LESSON
God Bless the victims, their family and friends and those who place themselves in harms way to secure our way of life...
