He had an ego and was a bit of eccentric person as well (as was his music). It is not secret. He may have been great with fans, but sometimes mocked journalists or was aloof. And he was very private to the very end.
Somehow, this band escaped my attention though I do recall the name when talk talk made the charts in the 80's. Now after Mark's passing, I'm listening to more and more of them, and realizing that I missed out on a great band. A sad loss for all. R.I.P Mark.
This band is absolutely amazing one of the greatest bands to come out of the '80s they're early stuff are all hits they've got over 20 hits in my mind and I wore out two sets of cassettes and on my second set of CDs they are just amazing
Neil Worroll. Had the pleasure of talking to mark before the Colour of Spring Concert in Birmingham. He was delightful and generous with his time. The boys signed my album. It still holds pride of place in my collection. They say don’t meet your heroes. He didn’t disappoint. Thank you Mark.
Matthew Hodges Not everybody ‘gets’ him Matt. I’ve come to the conclusion that you need to have a soul connect with Mark in order to appreciate his absolute genius. ❤️
stunning, incredible.. not live but hey how can a song that deep can go on TV.. genius ! before the music industry started to really stop those kind of things..
zuFussist schnelleralsüberdenberg Yes totally agree, along with Radiohead. I would really love to have seen them collaborate. Mark Hollis and Thom Yorke, both genius’s and way ahead of their time. RIP gentle soul, always in my heart and prayers. Godbless you. ❤️
Le amare por siempre mi her Oso inglés talentoso pero muy triste como yo siempre en este todabia lastimado corazon por siempre mark hollis atractivo rubio e isito ingles❤❤❤❤❤
anyone who has followed Mark Hollis and TalkTalk knows this is lip sync and there hate of it., but it dosnt stop it being one of there most emotional songs, he never wanted to release another single but had no choice you can see it in his face. Love this band so much.
Talk Talk est, de loin, mon groupe préféré de tout temps. Mark Hollis... QUEL ARTISTE !!! Et ce morceaux, I believe in you, est le meilleur de toute leur discographie, c'est pour dire... Désolé pour mon anglais (Google Trad...) Talk Talk is by far my favorite band of all time. Mark Hollis ... WHAT ARTIST !!! And this tracks, I believe in you, is the best of all their discography, that is to say ...
Émue , profondement émue par cette voix qui me traverse, qui touche le coeur et façonne l' Âme. Mark Hollis tu adoucis ma vie. Que des compliments, merci toujours.

THANK YOU
Maybe not a live track, but he's clearly singing it. Don't know what to make of that. Perhaps they used some of the isolated master tracks from the album for the instrumentation that wasn't on stage (I think they would have had access to them). Still a beautiful song.
Is it Shopenhauer who said that music is the essence of humanity ? Whenever I hear this music, from the very start, I fall short in words and I shed a tear.
He did not want to go . He did not want to sing . He was crying his brother's death but those fuckin men of E.M.I obliged him . It seems to be a pleasure for E.M.I to be rude with Marck's soul and brain . He was so delicate as a man . A true poet has disapeared but for us, real fan , he's still there . He will always be until the day we also go behind the next door to join him again ....
So amazingly touching and great . Does someone understand the words from the choir at the end ??? Very hard for me to understand and i'm sure there is a nice meaning in it . Thanks
Me ilumino kuando eskuxo este tema me siento tan triste auke no devieraporke el mark hollis me transporta a donde ke yo kiera te amo dulce amor platonico❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Talk talk and The Smiths were the best bands of the eighties that had the guts to play real music amongst the overabandance of shit mod music of that decade.
My favorite Talk Talk track and one of my favorite tracks I’ve ever listened to. Absolute masterpiece
I met him in 1984 and he was the nicest guy, down to earth, no ego. RIP Mark Hollis
He had an ego and was a bit of eccentric person as well (as was his music). It is not secret. He may have been great with fans, but sometimes mocked journalists or was aloof. And he was very private to the very end.
