Thanks Doug, I spent a lot of time in front of a 10 hp buffer when I was a young man so I guess the skills stuck with me. This reminded me just how filthy I would be at the end of those long days, don't want to do that for a living again... Mark
Thanks Rodney. Now that the valve covers look so good they make the top of the radiator look bad. It is always something... The owner can hand polish that though.
Yes you can but getting it clean is the hard part since polishing leaves an oily residue. I would recommend an adhesion promoter be sprayed on first followed by the clear coats.
@@FoothillPaintandFabrication Thank you for advice.I have a pair of aluminum Weiand valve covers, could send them to you to be polished they are painted right now.I live up in Victorville.what the cost be.Thanks again
@@Dino6961 I am sorry but I am not taking on any work as I am focused on my GTO and 2 other projects at the moment. There should be a few chrome shops or custom polishing shops near you that can do it nicely.
Yes it is. Been waiting so long I don't know how to feel about it frankly. It is going to be a very cool project as I have a lot of plans for the GTO. Mark
Beautiful work Mark! You can see your pride in what you do!!

Nice work Mark. There are no shortcuts in polishing. My friends make fun of me for polishing racecar parts. I call it micro aerodynamics.
Thank you
Hey even if it is in your head as long as it makes you go faster then why not. Besides everyone knows shiny vehicles go faster 🤪
Can you clear coat polished aluminum.
Yes you can but getting it clean is the hard part since polishing leaves an oily residue. I would recommend an adhesion promoter be sprayed on first followed by the clear coats.

Is it getting close to GTO time?
Yes it is. Been waiting so long I don't know how to feel about it frankly. It is going to be a very cool project as I have a lot of plans for the GTO.
