I suppose that yes, because SIM cards are compatible, I am from the Czech republic and I was able to call via roaming from Tunisia or Egypt just 15 or 20 years ago, with much much older button phones. The question is whether it is possible buy the phone in your country. If yes, it should be OK. And the second question is the language support, if the phone does not know your native language, if you are able to work with it in English...

Is there an Alexa app in the applications store? I'd like to pair this for my mom with her Echo device so that she can make and answer calls using her voice (without having to touch the phone). She has this phone and is having difficulty answering calls sometimes.
You can change it in Contacts / Calling by one button, there it is possible to assign phone numbers to SOS button and for long pressed number buttons. :-)
Purchased this phone but found out that it is not as easy to use as they make it out to be. I have very very limited eyesight and find trying to navigate the use of this phone to be EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING with little to no good information for actually using it, SO SO VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH IT! Even the sites suggested for tutorials all give glowing reviews on the features but very little info on actually getting the features to function! There is very little information on programing the damn thing. COULD NOT FIND any information for the side button or how to use it , which was not very helpful ! Had to hunt through MANY sites to find out how to turn phone on. The " app catalog" is pretty much useless with NO INFORMATION for getting other apps even some of those mentioned. There are two manuals, one on the phone which is totally useless and one included in the box which is about 1.5 inches vy 2.5 inches and the print is so small that anyone with visual problems would need A SIGHTED person to read it to them. The phone and idea is good but for being the best for blind or visually impaired i WOULD RATE IT 3.5 out of 5 ! Wanted to love this pone but was very disappointing with documentation/tutorials/ user information .

UPDATE 7-20-22 to last post, Still EXTREMELY disappointed with this phone after about two months! For one, try to find a video that tells you how to turn the phone on or off! Think the round green button will do that WRONG! To use this phone you could use the voice commands right? not so simple first you need to learn what to tell it or you can memorize what all the multitude of numbers for each of the many many choices of functions. Each choice requires you to push the OK button before you can move to the next step. Of course to learn how to do this you need the help of a very very patient SIGHT assistant. THERE ARE NO VIDEOS THAT TELL YOU HOW TO DO MOST OF THE FUNCTIONS (ONLY THE "WOW" ONES) AND EVEN THEN THEY ARE VERY BASIC. THERE IS NO, MADA, NONE, ZIP, USABLE DOCUMENTATION OR INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOUND AND DON'T LOOK FOR A HELP LINE,CUSTOMER HELP SIT OR WEBSITE FOR ASSISTANCE BECAUSR THERE IS NONE. FOR THE MOST PART BUY THIS AND YOU ARE ON YOUR ON LEAARNING HOW TO USE IT. WASTE OF MONEY DO NOT BUY!
I successfully started the phone without a guide by testing long pressing of various buttons, i succeeded with the End call button above number three. :-) Then i tested the upper part of keyboard, found the arrows up and down, explored the main menu, connected to WiFi, through the item Applications i successfully installed and updated some apps, and finally, through the last item About the phone i successfully updated the operating system, all during the first evening, when I unpacked the phone and my friend helped me with inserting battery. Of course, I detected by touch that in one corner it is wider space to begin with removing the back cover of the phone, I get whole cover away, inserted the battery and set the cover back to the phone. Before i changed my old SIM card to newer and smaller, compatible with new BlindShell, I worked with a phone without back cover. :D Just no problem, battery holds solid and does not fall away. :-) The feature that you must much actions confirm by pressing Start call button (above number one) makes the phone safer for experimenting and exploring menus, apps and what happens when you press certain key on the keyboard. :-) I am a little bit advanced user and BlindShell phone is much much better choice for me than a more powerful phone with a touch display. I tested touch display, it is possible for me to work with that, but it is slow and uncomfortable, therefore i decided for BlindShell Classic 2. :-) Controlling the phone by voice is also much pretty, the quality of speech recognition is similar level like in phones with touch displays. From the main screen, by long pressing the button on the right side of the phone (on the left side is the volume swing/dual button), you can start an application in the language, which is set as active in the phone language settings. I am Czech, when i say "počasí", it calls the app for the weather forecast, when i say "prohlížeč" (browser), it calls the Internet browser. In the case of players, it opens a menu with three players - for music, for videos and for podcasts. If you have for example some John in your contacts, you can say "SMS John" and it opens writing SMS. Of course it is needed confirmation by pressing the small circle buttond (Start call, above number one), because in some cases the phone can understand incorrectly, it is only a machine, not a live person... :-) And finally, You can say by voice the text of an SMS, internet address, phrase to Google search page in the browser, etc., etc., even you can say a Facebook post or a RUclips comment by voice. In this cases, after the speech, it returns to the text mode where you can repair possible errors or missing signs as comma, star, parentheses, etc. :-) Now the E-mail app just supports more than one account, i have two adresses in the phone. Via browser it is even possible listen / watch videos from services like Odysee or Facebook, it is possible to log in to Facebook + RUclips and the browser remembers your subscription when you close it and later open again. Phone BlindShell Classic 2 has also very loud speaker and high quality microphone, I was strongly surprised when i heard my first audio record by the phone. Notice: This is my personal activity, I have the phone about 10 days, I am not paid by BlindShell company. :-)
I am disappointed with a lot of bugs (including USBC incompatibility and problem to accept the call when writing E-mail or browsing internet because the same button has also function "OK"), very primitive keyboard above numbers in comparison with Nokia E52 with screen reader Mobile Speak, which had also the text clipboard for copying and pasting pieces of text from SMS or E-mail, BlindShell Classic 2 does not have clipboard function. Technical support is terrible, the trade policy of the producer do not allow direct E-mail communication between a customer and a real technician or developer with technical knowledges of the phone. I wanted to help, i have a bachellor diploma from informatics, but the operators kicked me out. They sold me spoilt phone and they wants, when I am blind, to go to post office, send the phone to the Prague city and to be without a phone for unspicified time, maybe a week, maybe a half of year. :-( My previous TRUTH comment about lacks with BlindShell was deleted, such that there is hard censorship of the channel owner. 😞 I am Czech and Prague is the capital of my country, but if I was for example Portuguese or American, i cannot imagine the torture with solving hardware problems with BlindShell, when they have only one service place in the Prague. :-( Warning: if the channel owner removes this comment, I am going to start my own uncensored RUclips videos in English and Czech. I am blind, but I have good experience with recording and streaming videos over an amazing free software called OBS studio, 75% accessible for blind people using FREE screen reader NVDA for Windows. the amazon alexa ap is now available to download to install now. as of august 8th 2022.
