There is mystery in your mind and magic in your hands. How composed you must be while doing this simple but intricate work. Watching your work gives me so much peace and desire. I am gaining a lot from you Peter and am thankful to you.
It's great to run into one of your treasured tutorials again, Peter! I've always come away having learned something new from watching you work here on YT, using your no frills materials---keeping it old school. Nice to see you're still the master of those sketchy lines So many appreciate you sharing your wonderful talent!
Love watching these scenes come to life ! Best part for me is the line work as it sharpens all of the hidden details into view ! Thanks Peter ! It’s time I look to purchase one of these gems !
Thanks for sharing. I took up watercolour 2 years ago to do line and wash then forgot the line aspect. I must dig out my pens. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hello.. I have recently found your channel and found every paint so beautiful .. I learned through your paintings a lot ..it is so peaceful .. thanks for your beautiful demonstrations
Thank you so much for all the videos and your marvellous paintings ! I'm a beginner but with your help I progress day after day. I say to my best friends I fell in love with Peter Sheller... I'm joking of course😁😁. I'm French and my English language isn't perfect. I hope you can understand easily, I spend a marvellous time watching and trying to paint. Have a good day and tanks a lot.
This has been very relaxing watching you paint this lovely winter birch tree scene. I have to thank you for inspiring me to continue with my water colour journey as you were one of the first tutorials I came across back in 2020 at the beginning of lockdown and I did one of your other winter birch tree scenes. I will attempt to try this one too. Love birch trees very much. All seasons they are lovely specimens. Thanks again.
This is a great New Years Day treat, thank you so much Peter. One question, are there any tips you could share about the edge masking. How to remove the tapes without damaging the paper at the end? I've tried five or six different masking tapes on wet or dry paper, unfortunately just couldn't get it right. 🤔
Happy new year! Here in Canada I purchase a masking tape designed for house painters. It is made to be removed soon after applying without damage. Also, when I remove it I pull it slowly and from a very close angle. I'll include this in the next video.
What I sometimes do with paper I’m not sure about is use a heat gun (hair dryer would work) and heat up the tape as I’m pulling. It almost slides off. I use cheap beige coloured masking tape designed for wall painting. Home Depot also sells a purple less tacky tape for that purpose but I found it to be not sticky enough if using a very wet wash.
Love your videos. Great technique. Super talented. But you paint so small that it doesn't necessarily translate to a larger image as far as technique is concerned.
Thanks Pete! Painting with you is so fun!

Micropore works for me.

Loved watching you paint this beautiful scene. I have one question. What is it that you use to pull up the trees in the background in the beginning?
Thank you! The end of the brush handle. Cheers!

Love your videos. Great technique. Super talented. But you paint so small that it doesn't necessarily translate to a larger image as far as technique is concerned.
Thanks Ray. Actually, my methods are exactly the same I just use bigger brushes.
