every tear an orphan, widow/er, poor child spilled, is wrath upon those who cause it. just remembered these words from a wise woman. this is so tormenting to a child.

People who are working with these unfortunate children have to be nice, warm hearted, fully off love , treating them with a special care instead treated them like animals! It’s a heart broken when watching this movie.

Precisely on places like this is where evil concentrates, they're children, they're defenseless...and the human evil knows it.
Hospitals are another kind of place where this happens...confused,debilitated patients,they're easy victims...evil and deviance prevails there and witnesses must keep silent for the sake of the institution (?!), evil is active and it keeps looking for victims, it knows where to find them..schools, hospitals, orphanages, mental institutions, senior facilities,...

@@funkytekno correct but it is surely also happening in the time and age we're in. My mum would always tell us as kids how horrible the nuns were in her school. They would beat and be overly strict causing the kids to fear school.
Her comment is just. You just need to understand it outside of the box. It could be happening and that is heartbreaking.

There should be a lot more of Judy in this world, especially in fields dealing with orphans. One with the passion to help, not just 'fix' someone they think is broken. 😪😪

Orphanages in Aust were closed when the 'abuse' was discovered. Their names were changed, visitors turned away, contact with other orphans dissuaded, no love or compassion. The were free labour doing laundry morning til night for hospitals etc. They recently received a pay out. There is more, much more

This was a horror movie. Not gore but psychological horror. It was difficult to watch but written carefully and well acted. These poor kids would need loving patient homes after all this. No spoilers, just know that justice wins, not the villains. Cheers.

I can't believe the kids in ward B were subjted to a lobotomy, that's a permanent treatment that turns you into a zombie. That's why the boy in Nathan's room had black circles around his eyes. :'(

I thought it's gonna be a traditional horror movie with ghosts and dark backgrounds. But this was more horror with real time experience. Well done. Kid's acting was fantastic

It's definitely a movie I wouldn't watch before bed ,because of how they treat those children but the ending was brilliant! Justice was definitely served for a low budget movie it was well worth the watch

The whole staff was so toxic which made me realize the way they treat kids in orphanages especially those who are nothing & hopeless in this world .My special thanks goes to mrs judy for the love & care given to nathan 🙏🙏 😍.
This is one of the most horrendous films I have ever seen. If I hadn't read the comments first, I don't think I could have sat through it. I too was brought up in an orphanage and I don't know what is worse, to start off life in an institution or be placed later like Nathan, when you have already tasted some happiness. I think it is probably worse to be placed later maybe. It's like a never-ending nightmare. I think this film should be shown to all social workers, educators, institution staff, school teachers, to help us stay strong in our priorities, i.e. the welfare and best interests of the child.
Good job Judy and Nathan, you saved 100s of children's life.

I watched this cause I thought it was a scary ghost movie but stayed with it because it had me intrigued. Excellent ending!!! Thanks for uploading. Great acting and all around good psychological thriller.
I am blind and have no descriptions, so did not understand the ending. Was Nathan’s guidance lady in on this? Did she know he couldn’t get proof so she made sure he got into trouble? When he said we will get you out of here did she mean they would shoot him or take him to jail? I have watched this movie about three times and the more I watch the ending the more little things are coming too ligh, when this movie is very dark… Pun intended. What happened to the kid Nathan found in the basement?
Lol also, it got me good when I found out that it was just little flashbacks of Nathan not paying attention in class. I really couldn’t watch this movie for weeks and weeks because I actually thought that the parents would graphically get into a car accident and the whole movie would be a drama About how we don’t appreciate what we have and about kids who just lose their parents tragically. But there is so much more to this movie and I like the movie now.

It's good to know that the evil monsters got what they deserved.
From the first day that student Nathan came to this school, the teachers kept abusing this poor child and also tried to drive him crazy, like the other children.
And as for the teacher, well done to her - she saved him and got him out of this damn school.

I think I've tried to tired to watch this movie about 5 times but I couldn't get to the end due to the abuse to Nathan, I couldn't stand it. But today I got courage enough to complete it, truly it's a such a good story and perfect acting especially Nathan.

Good movie! I had never seen this before. It made me count my blessings that I so longer work in a psychiatric hospital. I’m telling you, I have seen things that I really wish I hadn’t.
Was there anything you enjoyed about working there?
It is a horrifying thought that, no matter what, there are always fellow students (victims) who are ready to help the abusers!
Thank goodness for Nathan! He saved the other children from the sickos in this horrible facility. I believe some of the staff were sexually assulting the boys. Remember the scene when Nathan went to the bathroom and looked the under the stall, there was a male adult hiding quietly listening to him use the toilet. Then during a flashback scene Nathan recorded an assult taking place in the gym. The boy who played the character Nathan is a very good actor. I actually cried watching parts of this. This was a really good movie!

An excellent film showing how the people in the orphanage mistreat young boys. Glad they were found out in the end. The boy who played nathan was excellent. This type of thing must still go on even today. PC. 12. 09. 2021.

The actor that played Mr. Clemens (Jimmy Scanlon) is the Writer, Director, Producer and Actor in this movie. I thought the movie had very good story content and for a budget movie was well made. It's refreshing to watch a horror movie that doesn't have tons of violence in it. This was very decent and told the dark secrets of what goes on in some institutions. So many of these asylums, orphanages and Juvenile boot camps you see closed down were due to abuse cases. Not all are bad but some have had extreme cases of abuse in them and need to be exposed.
Health department should stay there in order to see how those children being treated. kids going against Nathan to get him in trouble. I would have call the news to report that place.
Unfortunately the health department, CDC, and other children’s agencies are full of child predators, that’s why they gravitate to jobs dealing with children

out of all the movies i could've come across and chose to watch tonight, i picked this one...and coincidentally the opening scene is a mansion that's located in my hometown, which is only at most 5minutes away from me.🤯🤯🤯
for anyone wondering, it's one of the ames estates in borderland easton massachusetts. the family basically built this whole town and had several large estates in my town. nobody lives in this one and you can go there and explore the grounds whenever. the whole property is beautiful and there's always other people. on special occasions you can actually pay for a tour of the inside. i got to do it once but don't remember a whole-lot because i was probably only 12 at the time (currently 30) so i'd love to have a tour again sometime soon.
edit: just another fun little fact. they also filmed some of shutter island (leonardo decaprio) at borderland also. the flashbacks they show at the little shack on the pond where they lived and where the wife drowned their kid's is by the mansion in borderland as well.🙂🙃

What a brilliant film and amazing ending for the evil human beings
Not a Horror movie but a MUST SEE movie ..
Having been in the New Brunswick Orphanage Home which used to be on Manawagonish Road, Saint John, New Brunswick, before being forced to shut down in the late 1970s, due to heavy scrutiny of various abuses and complaints, made by the too old to be there, past survivors of the horrendous abuse we kids suffered and endured for years!
I resided there from 1964-1973!
The emotional rollercoaster was relentless!
By the time my living nightmare of residing there was over, and I was removed from the Orphanage? I was a very bitter/angry/confused/violent messed up twelve year old, with no understanding of what living a proper life in society was!
The Orphanage left a lot of us kids physically/mentally/sexually scarred, and seriously violent.
Unfortunately, a fair number of us could not function in a normal socially balanced type of life, being so bitter and angry, carrying around in our minds all of the different issues of abuse we had to endure for years, based on a then belief that we were the misfits of society, and not worth the time or effort! We Orphanage kids were shunned by society as being nothing more than the base opinion that we were just *Orphanage Bastards* ! Some of us took the extreme measure to just no longer exist! I made the attempt to no longer exist, but due to an associate was discovered in time! F****d up thing about my wanting to end my mental anguish? Only *then* did I receive help! Until then? I was ignored as simply being a problematic juvenile! Some of us ended up in juvenile custody and then later on in either jail or prison! For those who were lucky enough to be relocated into a home environment? There were the older late teens/pre adults, who were simply put out onto the streets! Alcohol and drugs became their choice(s) and inevitably caused their downfall and/or death!
Eventually over time? Those of us who became, and are survivors of the Orphanage, eventually sought out and found legal ways to have those who were responsible for the abuses already described, charged and jailed.
Back in the day? Sentences were very lenient as to what they are today. And that is a good thing, because it shows and proves how serious of an issue child abuse is, and has been for many many decades! Yet it continues on a much larger platform, such as the internet!
Yes, we the ones who were out of control were drugged up when there was an outburst!
Yes, there were fights breaking out constantly, resulting in major bloodshed where another Orphanage resident killed their opponent, using a knife, bat, crowbar, etc,etc,!
Yes, you were forced to learn to fight at a very early age, which for me was six years of age the moment/day I was transferred to the ward that accomadated my age group, or have your ass handed to you on a daily basis.
Yes, there were smaller sized kids targeted by large groups of older bigger kids, just for the hell of it!
Yes, there were those same smaller sized kids hung him/herself from the cast iron pipes in the basement, only to be discovered by other young kids, myself included, when we kids would take the large laundry bins through the tunnel system leading to the laundry/boiler room!
The living nightmares of daily life in that damn Orphanage, are and have been my sleeping nightmares for the past 48 years of my life!
Many of us past residents/survivors of the Orphanage, are forever cursed with the memories, which will only die when the last of us survivors have passed away! If there was any one reason I could state when it comes my time to die, is that I am accepting of it so as to stop the nightmares! It is the only thing I see as a positive with my passing away!
The lobotomy aspect of this video is attributed to the old "Dr. Roberts Psychiatric Hospital" also in Saint John, New Brunswick, which was also closed down, but due to illegal experimentation/practices, involving primarily those who were born with downs syndrome!
My situation was bad enough, but as for those born with downs syndrome and then became victims of the horrendous medical practices of the Dr. Roberts Hospital?
My oldest brother (R.I.P big brother) was put in there! And for what went on in that damn place, not only concerning what they did to my big brother, but what the Drs did to the others in there, far outweighs my situation, and yes my heart is filled with sadness and I feel that mentioning the Dr. Roberts Hospital is the respectful thing to do!
The innocent victims of the Dr. Roberts Hospital deserve for their story to be told!
Here is where I can honestly draw a comparison, based on personal experience between that Orphanage as a kid, and Prison as an adult!

I have a bad feeling about the dean and the frumpy teacher . The young woman and the cook are alright people . Not sure how creepy or scary this movie will be , but Iam willing to give it a shot and sit on the edge of my seat ! Wow ! They are some sick people ! This was so good I just skipped to the end to see the outcome . They were turning these boys into robots to have control of them . Good movie , thanks !

I cant believe an orphanage can hire someone like Mr Clements who doesnt try to understand the hardships of being an orphan, adjusting in a new environment for a child who has just lost his parents and surviving class bullies. Its not rocket science to figure that out. He is just finding the easy way out to deal with orphans with "problems" like Nathan by punishing him unfairly. People like Mr Clements and that History teacher are incompetant and it is them who should be assessed all the time. In fact, all staff in an orphanage should be assessed by the state and always be on their watch

We had a revelation of a woman in hell with her kids and her kids were accusing her forcefully while they were burning in the fire saying to her : this is all your fault,you never took us to church,you never told us anything about God,you never cared about our souls and now we are being tormented because of you,and these reproaches they were making to their mother were more painful for her than the fire that was burning her. It is something very sad to see or hear kids being afflicted that way,so take them to Jesus and save their souls,don't blame God for anything ,He is holy.

Thousands of kids every year live nightmarish lives because of people like these-mental, emotional, physical and sexual abuse from staff and even other residents-some who have been experiencing it themselves for years both in and out of the facility. CPS is overwhelmed and overworked and some just don't care...and the kids suffer. We have to do better...all of us.
I am not surprised why so many killers in the USA, the way children has been treated.

Once your an orphan there's no Love, Care, no one Values you no one notice you 😭they mistreat you knowing you have no one to protect you or defend you... I'm a perfect example of double orphan 😭I know how it feels to be an Orphan raised with other people..
Recommend this🙋 it's good story line, but these things happen in places and it's sad.

4th of July is memorable date to me as a mother. My first born child born that day.. Last year 24th day of July 2020 he had been a hit & run victim. He died. He just turned 12 yrs old last July 4 2020.but after 20 days he died also..💔 So 4th of July is hapinness & 24th of July is a nightmare to us.

i was grown up in my own house like that. i had two younger brothers to look after, hell hell! all the beatings and going without food! all the beatings we got. my mother was ill i think! i thought all children were treated like that. it seems they werent!!! she used to brag about all the beatings she gave us. i was too scared to tell anyone, there wasnt anyone to tell. if i had she would have killed us. not kidding!
Excellent film and so true but worse in these actual institutions. Anywhere there are children evil people will be there with them under the guise of helping these vulnerable children.

I like characters such as the young female teacher, who reminds me of Olivia Benson from Law and Order: SVU. These two characters are so understanding and patient with people. They actually inspire me to be like that. :-)

Well done 👍 never seen this one but oh lord he look so like my son and behave like him except my son act out. And my son tell straight away if someone do something but some time’s he starts with his brother for example and so then we don’t believe him. But the poor boy in this has nobody else so sad. This was a very good movie; superb cast and the kids were amazing actors. The plot/storyline was very interesting, but it was very sad and tragic at the same time. This movie should actually be under the drama category, because it definitely wasn't a thriller or a horror movie. I liked it, as I've said, but if you're looking for scary/blood/jump scares/gore, this isn't the movie. The ending was really good except for the part with the poor kid with the red curly hair and what they did to him (I forget his name, sorry). That was so awful; I almost couldn't watch that part. It was atrocious what they did and how they treated those children. Good drama movie though. They should move this movie out of the horror genre section though and put it with the drama movies!

I started my foster care journey at 8mos. A number of placements due to bad ppl. I was officially an "orphan" by 5/6 (dad) and 15/16. I wrote a few books to work it out. I read a few comments before giving this a try and I don't think I will continue with it.
