Actually, Low Man’s Lyric gets talked about almost as much as Fuel, The Memory Remains and The Unforgiven II. Everything else barely gets talked about, aside from maybe Fixxxer, to an extent.
This is the best album they put out after Justice - and the best album to date. This is actually Metallica at their peak post-thrash era. The production, the lyrics and the songwriting on each song is simply superb and there are simply no fillers, unlike on the Black Album or Load or everything that came after. Absolutely underrated gem.
How can you say this album is better than Black Album and Load. This album is full of fillers. Load is an amazing album. The black album was and still is massive
I remember when Load came out... it kinda killed me a bit inside as I was hoping for something more cause around that time the other music was just not giving me the satisfaction I always get from metal/rock. I know times were transitioning but there were no definitive band or artist that stood out. I was in my early 20s then and was kinda sorting out my life still. the 5 earlier albums from Metallica shaped my teenage years so I was hoping when they released Load, it would be a life changer. I was wrong and felt a little heartbroken. Re-Load was a bit better but still my heart had swayed a bit... I had ventured onto a different avenue by then... I did revisit both Load and Re-Load years after their releases; it still didn't sound right to me. 😅
I know i could just look this up but I figure Ill just ask here as I like to talk. Is this album just leftover stuff from the load sessions which diddnt make it on load or is it a completely self actualized project on its own? If so, Why is it called reload? Because they are continuing the sound of load?
Those songs were not leftovers, in fact, the original plan was to release a double album but they rather split it into two, that's all there is to it. However the songs on Reload although they were already chosen, they were not finished yet as you can hear in the work-in-progress version of Fuel on the Cunning Stunts DVD.
Fuel 4:30 2 The Memory Remains 4:38 3 Devil’s Dance 5:19 4 The Unforgiven II 6:36 5 Better Than You 5:22 6 Slither 5:13 7 Carpe Diem Baby 6:12 8 Bad Seed 4:05 9 Where the Wild Things Are 6:54
After all these years Im giving this album a complete and open minded listen. I was out of metallica by the time of this release so i never did. I never talked shit either, I was just not interested.

Risk and Super Collider get the same bad rap among fans as Load and Reload. I love all those albums. To an extent I understand, but I've never had any problems with those albums. It seems as time goes on, these albums are gaining more acceptance than when they were first released. Naturally there will always be people who will never like the albums, and that's fine.
Ash to ash dust to dust fade to black..........in deed the memory remains
Thank the universe for putting Metallica together.
I just found out how load and reloads album art were made. I can never look at these albums the same way. :I
Love the Metallisabbath era! Gritty, down 'n dirty sludge.
Kirk kicks ass all over the place on this album.
Best sounding/produced Metallica album.
Low Man's Lyric is the most underrated song on this album
I feel like better than you or prince charming are the underrated ones. You really don't hear anyone talk about those 2.
@@venon4575devils dance never really gets much talk either and damn if it ain’t a banger.

Sounds like Metallica was having fun and feeling free on this album.

This album would be better if it had their current guitar tone. I just personally like heavier over bluesy.

Always the best band 🎸🎸🎸I love it 👍👏❤️
These guys flourished and grew so much under Bob Rock. He should be an honorary 5th member of Metallica.
For 13 years he was, till St Anger. At some he should make an album with them
@@thedancingguy828 In a way he was during that era, and did with St. Anger.
@@ZzbulletheadzZ i meant another one, i wasn't clear enough sorry
@@thedancingguy828 No problem and I agree. He did do mixing on Portals, Kirk Hammett's first release, which is something cool.

Along with Load Metallicas best produced album. Everything is clear and has breathing room. 🎉

Metallica rules
Can't get enough of "Where the Wild Things Are"
Still underrated and better than Megadeth's commonly named "duds", and I say that as someone who prefers Megadeth and their guitar skills
Risk and Super Collider get the same bad rap among fans as Load and Reload.

The first seven Metallica albums are perfect.
A happy album.
