Thanks for the teardown info, much appreciated. Helping my mother in law w fixing hers.... I found an inop motor, dropped/bent main motor drive gear (smallest of the gears), and stretched belt. I have zero volts feeding the motor, at the motor and from the board. What's the voltage specs going to the motor? (older until, running a output 12vac/ 700ma adapter) Any kind of tests that u have to condemn/not condemn the control board??
Motor should be at the 12vac. Inspect the board, tracing the tracks and look at the components to see if you can see a bad one. Message me if you can get it, I may have a spare board.
Where do you or did you get that bag of plastic sprockets? I don't see that the gear is split like yours was, however the pin of the same gear spins inside of the sprocket, thinking it needs to be tighter. Great video and very helpful.
Check the capacitor on the motor, if cracks or fails if puts noise in the sound circuit. Check the solder joints on the speaker, board, volume switch, so on. Solder can crack causing arcing and noise within the circuit. This is where I would start.
Thanks for another very informative and interesting video. By the way, it's not a bad idea to check the electrolytic capacitors in any Lemax or Mr Christmas product, particularly those manufactured during the mid 1990s. There were problems with capacitor manufacture around this time. Here in the UK, we purchased a Mr Christmas "Santas Marching Band" in 1995. The ALL the capacitors had to be replaced after just three years of reasonable usage. Hope this helps. Wayne & Nina (Ipswich, Suffolk, UK). 🫡🫡🫡👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊

@@RandomJunkChannel thank you sir. I will recheck the board tomorrow. Appreciate the advice.

I used two kits and mixed them together, linked them below; 58pcs Plastic Gears - amzn.to/3sIHPUB
AUKUYEE Plastic Gear Set, 75Pcs - amzn.to/34d2dmD
mine works but the music is crackling , looks like grounded, humming sound, humming goes louder when i turn volume higher.. what should i do?
