It was made by N-Space who made the James bond and cod games on ds. It was a internal pitch that didn't go very far but had some work done on it
That's wild, I've seen some stories of employees working on it to pitch it to Bungie but Bungie is denying that a studio worked on it. Weird contradictions to all these stories

It was absolutely made by N-Space using their engine they made for Goldeneye DS with the approval of Electronic Arts at the time. They presented it to Microsoft and it was immediately rejected.
I cannot tell you how excited I was as a child waiting for Halo to come to Nintendo DS. I figured it'd happen eventually considering the Modern Warfare and Black Ops games were ported over.

Looks like it could be the original Halo on PC that had modding. People made tons of maps for it back in the day and the PC version had more vehicles. Back when Gearbox just ported games, before being tied to Borderlands.

Wow, that’s shocking. Funny how the guy Ryan McCaffrey who made the notoriously bad Alien Isolation review still has a job there, and I rarely hear of him unless he’s trashing Xbox or making another bad review, like his rating for the Last of Us Part II. Please, that wasn’t very good, 6/10. But ranks Alien Isolation low cause it was too hard and the AI was too smart. Bro, it could just be it’s not your taste. We’re so used to horror games that are easy af and not scary. It’s shocking and actually terrifying when you’re being hunted by something that has intelligence comparable to a human being, and you’re never sure if you're done or not. Games like Slender the Arrival were scary to me, but a predictable kind of scared cause while the AI is aggressive, you can kinda predict where they’re coming from, and the game tells you right off the bat how to stun the proxy chasing you in the mine. He probably only liked LoU Part 2 cause they catered to reviewers like him and implemented an ultra easy difficulty option so they could just speed through the game and say it was good because they’re garbage at the game, or don’t want to put in the effort to get better.

I remember before the release of Halo 2 I saw a screenshot in a gaming magazine where master cheif was holding a combat knife weapon. Now Im wondering if that was some kind of mod that the magazine somehow got or was submitted to them.

The Halo ds game made me wonder why 343 never released a ported version of Halo 1 for smartphones. It would be similar to how Rockstar ported most of the original GTA games over.

Glad to see Halo never saw any cross plat. There's very few unique and excellent games solely playable on the xbox platform. I'd hate to see the most notable one be passed around for simple financial gain.

The most likely scenario on Halo DS, given that it's a modification of GoldenEye Rogue Agent, is that the studio behind GoldenEye spent some time making a Halo DS prototype of their own volition to pitch it to Microsoft as a product. This happens frequently in the gaming world but in this case they weren't interested in funding the product.
Bungie stated that no one at Bungie put IGN's Halo DS prototype together and that Microsoft was never working on a Halo DS with anyone else in an official capacity. There were rumors that Microsoft contacted multiple studios to each put playable Halo DS demos together and they'd pick the creator of the best demo to create a full Halo DS game but those rumors aren't backed by anything I've ever found.
Modding tools for Nintendo DS games were nonexistent at the time IGN's Matt Cassamassina posted the footage and the story. On top of that, the means to play modified DS games on real hardware barely existed either. It was much more likely to be a legit Nintendo DS development cart with a game installed on it than it is to be anything fanmade.
I could be wrong but all signs point to a demo made in-house to pitch to Microsoft. Whether it was ever pitched or was just abandoned is still unknown but obviously the game never happened.

I owned a copy of this for PS2 it wasn't even a full game was just a demo version but now that history has taken it away I regret it more than the prophet of regret.

According to Marty in a recent interview, Halo was gonna first be a PC and Mac game, followed by ports to console, likely the PS2 and whatever Microsoft was cooking up.
Then MS bought them after E3 2000

Bottom line is after Microsoft baught Bungie they had absolutely no plans to make Halo crossplatform. Before Microsoft the game was going to by Macintosh so it wouldv'e been a PC game. That's the only footage of anything outside of Xbox halo ever.

The sad reality was that Halo was supposed to launch on the Mac computer. I saw the demo, years earlier on a Power Mac. Steve Jobs was pretty choked when Microsoft bought the rights for Xbox instead.

Actually yeah, halo one had the model for master chief made because it was originally going to be a PlayStation game. It was originally gonna be a third person shooter. Halo became the flagship for the Xbox after development began.

PlayStation port is ALL FAKE: HALO WAS DESIGNED TO RUN ON A GEFORCE VIDEO CARD FROM THE BEGINNING 🤦♂️ this footage is from early MAC version... Halo was developer in collabiration of Nvidia af that level that actually BUNGIE helped Microsoft to convince Nvidia do the entire Xbox console, as the DirectX Team actually worked with Nvidia too. Halo needs to run technology that at that time only a nvidia card had....there were even nvidia commercials with Halo graphics before halo was released for Xbox.
