My Dad died 23 years ago but I'm old and now my kids give me cards. Leo Kottke said it best in the song "Jack Gets Up" - _"...if you look in the mirror it's your Father's face..."_ I still see it after all this time. Have a great Father's day.

Hi Tom. Hey, just wanted to thank you for the talk with Mr. Mote that you shared, yesterday. I was talking with my wife about it, later in the evening, and surprised myself by getting choked up. It took me a bit to figure out why it had affected me in that way. Forgive me, for getting a little flowery here, but there's something so magical about the ease in which elite musicians can communicate with one another. Wynton Marsalis put a book out 25 years ago (Swing Sweet Blues On The Road) that included a long section where he simply laid out the thoughts that would typically go through his head while the band would be playing through a tune, different taking solos, and how they would all try to build their lines by incorporating part of a melody another had used, or reference another tune that may have been tangentially related in theme or lyrics, how they'd try to challenge, encourage, and nudge one another on... Man, if someone had handed me that book when I was a teenager? I'd probably never have come out of the shed/lol. I think part of the reason that seeing the unguarded affection and care that Gordon and yourself have for one another is extra-moving these days is that, if we're to judge anything by the news that surrounds us, everyone is itching to fight. Tom, this is an important body of work you're compiling, video-by-video, as much for the humanity you're sharing, as the incredible musicianship. Thanks, buddy.

Hey Tom. I'm having trouble. I've watched all your videos. I now drink Rolling Rock in the dark with my eyes closed. I've disconnected all the LED lights in my garage. I've legally added "Little" to the beginning of my name and thrown out all my Eric Johnson picks. I'm still not improving. Should I vacuum the house more? haha. Just kidding. Love the channel and what you have done for us.

With your comment comes the suggestion that I vacuum more, don't make it so I can't watch when my wife is home. Or at least suggest I smoke more, that's a better idea.

Echoing the Happy Father’s Day wishes to Tom and all dads out there in Homeskoolin’ world. Lost my dad 16 years ago. As a young kid and a teenager, I didn’t always follow his advice. My dad left home at the age of 17 to join the Army during World War II. As a parent, he was very strict-which frustrated my siblings and me to no end-but in time I came to realize my pop always had my well-being and best interest at heart. I miss him greatly. Thank you, Tom, for your videos. You may never know the impact you have made for us viewers and guitar geeks in these unprecedented times. Yours is a gift beyond measure.

M C I miss our World War II guys. The last one I knew died just a few months ago. I’m 63 and the guys I used to have pre-COVID coffee with in the morning were often in their late Eighties and nineties. They had some fascinating stories.

@MC - I lost my dad 12 years ago. He was also super strict, not because of military, but having worked so hard to become self-made, raising 7 kids. He knew he was too tough on us, but that was his way to teach us how to be decent people. Like you, I came to understand him later and miss him dearly. True story, the last time we spoke we were saying goodbye at the airport after a big family Christmas. We're not really the type of family that tells each other we love each other, despite the fact we're very close. As I hugged him, for the first time ever, I told him I loved him. Tears swelled in his eyes, which made mine tear up. He said it back. Those were our last words to each other, and I am so grateful.

P90s are ferocious pick ups! I could understand why you'd lay back on pick attack. I'd love here an example of playing aggressive and soft at the same time. I always imagined that was the all powerful, Paul Kossoff's approach. I'm speaking a little out of school about Kos though I only know of him from what I have heard in his music. Also the Todd Rungren is a genius. Tom Bukovak, your a national treasure!

Great loop intro! We’ve all played D-A-C-G but super cool sounding the way you voiced it.

Hey Tom, you have a proper guitar mind! You think so differently about what to say when you play. It is refreshing and inspiring to watch. Thanks!
