- Everyone who enjoys the fun and thrills of riding a roller coaster will want to experience Mystic Timbers, voted “Best New Ride” in 2017 by Amusement Today. Themed to an abandoned lumber company, riders experience 16 airtime moments as they weave along 3,265 feet of track through wooded terrain, over water and through a mid-course tunnel at speeds up to 53 mph. The coaster is naturally exciting because of its setting in a densely wooded area. The natural rugged terrain and tunnel ensures a unique and memorable ride experience. Mystic Timbers was custom designed and built for the topography of Kings Island by Great Coasters International, Inc. (GCI) of Sunbury, Pa. The ride’s layout interacts with both the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon attractions during its two-minute ride cycle. As the train climbs the 109-foot lift hill, a voice is heard saying, “Hey! Hey! I see up there! What do you think you’re doing? This is security. Seriously, guys, you need to take that truck and go home to your video games. This place is not safe. Whatever you do, don’t go in the shed!” And then an adventure into the unknown begins. #KingsIsland #MysticTimbers #rollercoasters

Can’t believe people say this is a rough ride. I rode it in the back row and it was an unbelievable ride. Thrill after thrill after thrill. Do people just not ride older wooden coasters and expect these to be B&M smooth? This is EXACTLY how a wooden coaster should sound like, feel like, ride like… Absolutely amazing ride.
You know how it is. Some roller coaster enthusiasts are so jaded. They'll say anything is rough unless they're on the very first train to ever leave the station when it opens to public. Second train ever after opening to public, "Its worn out"
Went back of the beast today never again, never again
Ive heard people call banshee rough so
Most roller coasters are going to be rough, not much to that. But this ride is definitely rougher than most at the park along with the beast for sure.
@@NosticGames That's just not true at all. Hell I'd argue the only ride in the park smother than it is Orion. It's not the roughness you are feeling but the laterals
The speed of this ride was unexpected as hell. Actually pretty fun besides i thought i was getting a speed boost after the shed opened. That was super wack
I thought the ride was a water ride on my first viewing then it turned out to be a roller coaster, my sister set me up lol.
The rollercoaster was crazy, but pretty smooth.
It was super fast. I even came out of my seat. This up there with the beast for me.
Imagine if after the shed it just turned into son of beast rmc
I swear literally everybody's complaining about the shed and don't realize its an amazing idea for a brake run
I lowkey don’t mind that stop at all it gives you time to chill 😂
Nah I hate it bruh 😭 went yesterday and it took 5 min to get off
@@tyharris9157 I’ve been on Mistic Timbers tens of times and never have I waited more than 2 minutes. You are either exaggerating or something on the ride broke down
@@ootheboss9307 nope 5 min exact . And I timed it . Nothing broke though
@@tyharris9157 first off “broke” could be just the computer system having an error and you would have 0 clue if the tide broke down. 2 another explanation is a problem with a rider/riders in the station which you also could not see. If you would have rode it more than once you would find it averages around a minute and I’ve gotten as low as 30 seconds with good operations
It's all fun and games until you actully go on it 😂 The adrenaline rush of this ride is amazing!
That is true
Bruh this was my first ever talk coaster it was a thrill of the day lol
I passed out 6 times on this ride when I was 9
Was first ride at Kings Island. I thought hey it is going to be easy. I squealed before the first drop ... could not help it.
@@HaileyOrLin lol im around the age u went on it and i LOVED THIS RIDE SO MUCH LIKE NO JOKE
I know many people complain about the shed, but it’s honestly an underrated idea. I applaud Kings Island for, instead of having it be a single monster or something that you know is coming every time you ride, there’s multiple monsters that are randomized, giving re-ride ability.
It definitely shows that when they meant, “What’s in the Shed?” They were aiming for the fact that it was random whatever was in the shed every time, and wasn’t a set monster.
This is one of those rides that the POV doesnt do its justice. You FLY through this twisted layout and almost every turn has you pinned to the seat!
Don't be too fooled by the lack of size of this coaster, it's actually quite intense, especially at night. Ride it during October during their Halloween themed nights and there are no lights, can't see where you're going.
That's when I had my first night ride. Mystic Timbers on a full moon Octobers night. They even had fog running, and it was my first time on Mystic. One hell of a a ride to say the least.
I rode this during Winterfest and OMG it was intense. Riding coasters with icy wind biting your cheeks between your scarf whipping about, in total darkness that only winter can provide... Is something surreal and intense as hell.
Rough ride? The back of The Beast is a rough ride. I love this ride. My friend and I walked on twice in a row about 2 weeks ago. We tried to predict what monster we would see each time. This thing FLIES. And I love the part that says “don’t go. Don’t go in the. Go in the shed. Go in the shed. Go in the shed.” This ride is fantastic!
I rode Mystic Timbers for the first time this weekend and it is now my favorite wooden rollercoaster! Such a great ride if you want prolonged intensity!
best ride in the park
@@sirgerito I'd argue beast is better but everyone has their own opinion so who am I to judge?
@@thebluepineapple684 after the retrack the beast is pretty good but nothing can swing my opinion lol
@@sirgerito I never rode the beast before the retrack so I wouldn't know anyway
My favorite ride in the whole park,, the sheer speed and airtime is just relentless, and it gives the best night ride of any coaster I've ridden
This is the best ride in the park, I only wish it ran little longer but it’s so awesome.
Awesome! Thanks. Haven't been to the park in about 5 years. Definitely hitting Mystic Timbers and the re-tracked Beast!
This coaster surprised me. A ride doesn’t have to be large to be great like Maverick at Cedar Point.
You have a good point, but people say the same thing about maverick which is kind of ironic. People are like “it’s awesome that cedar point built a smaller and more aggressive instead of going for something big and expensive” cuz maverick isn’t a very large ride lol
@@martindipshit8673 I think that’s what he meant. He forgot the comma
Nice wooden coaster !!! I haven't been to K.I. since the bat was there...70's early 80's. The Beast is still the greatest coaster I've ever been on ....especially at night.
i waited in line for this coaster for 45 minutes right after it opened. worth it, it was such a cool ride.
Dude...KI has some of the smoothest woodies I have EVER been on. Maybe I’m jaded, cuz I cut my teeth on Hershey park woodies...A ride from the 40’s, GCI’s first and notoriously most rough woodie, and another GCI that’s rough for GCI standards.
Love how they always make you think you are breaking down on the lift hill
The speed was very unexpected on this coaster, and I was zooming through the course and flying out of my seat! My family and I loved it. And while I was vibing to the music in the shed, it could’ve used a jumpscare, I was already getting anxious from the ambiance!
I rode this as my first Cedar Fair woodie this past week, omg what a fantastic ride. Smooth, intense laterals, fast pacing, great airtime, and some of the best night rides imaginable. I would call this Maverick's wooden brother. I live over 2k miles from KI and will fly back every year just for Mystic.
Underrated coaster. I throughly enjoy the ride
This is my FAVORITE ROLLER COASTER EVER!!!!
I love this ride, one of the best in the park. Wish the shed was the mid course brake run
It’s better than sitting on a normal brake run
This ride has some of the best pacing ever. I’m glad it doesn’t have an MCBR.
@@HiCaballo i honestly agree......it still has soo much speed going into it
I’m glad there is not a mid course lol
@@sirgeritoit’s because the ride slowly goes down a slight elevation change. This means in gains speed first and hardly loses any on the return run.
MY FAVORITE RIDE THERE! shed was a nice touch
The drop on this coaster in the back row is legendary. The laterals are insane and it has some floater airtime every now and then.
Best coaster at Kings Island IMO. Intense, super fun, but also family friendly
the horn at the beginning is terrifying
overall the coaster was really fast and smooth but i give it a 7/10 just because there was a lot of potential for the shed and I feel there couldve been a much better ending to the ride like having a live actor in a scary costume running up to the train or something of the such.
Finally got to ride this yesterday and let me just say, IT IS AMAZING! This vid, while awesome, does not adequately prepare you for the insanity of this ride. That trip through the woods is adrenaline-filled and amazing. Mystic Timbers is fantastic!!!
My favorite coaster at the park! As soon as you hit the woods the speed is relentless and out of control!
This was the first big ride in the park that I’ve ridden… AND IT WlAS GREAT!!! I was terrified at first, but then I thought it amazing! I rode it again a few hours after that and it was just as good!!! It was awesome! I’m not used to airtime so this was a little push towards getting used to it. 10/10 Coaster
I can feel the airtime through this video
I SAID THAT ON THE RACER POV😭
literally the best wooden roller coaster ever
Amazing coaster , was there the first day it opened , " The shed" over hyped and almost ruined the ride
It's the damn brea run... Would you rather speed into the station and hit your head? Ungrateful
@@famousseagull2249 they could of made it more themed but ok
I went on this a few days ago and we got the snake ending in the shed, the fact it played “Man Eater” was ironic and I loved it
My number 1 bucket list coaster.
It deserves to be on your bucket list its an amazing coaster
I first experienced Mystic Timbers in 2018 and thought “oh that was a solid coaster”. I didn't remember it being anything super special. I have recently returned to my coaster fandom, after a 5 year hiatus, and have learned that this has become the most popular ride at the park among enthusiasts and can't, for the life of me, seem to figure out why. I just got to ride it again yesterday for the first time in 5 years; It’s a good ride, but for the hype it gets I was expecting something at least great. Might be the 8th best coaster I’ve ridden at this park. I've been going here since 2005 so I've been on just about everything the parks ever had. To each their own, and I'm aware I'm in the clear minority, but this is a forgettable coaster to me.
The best themed woodie ever
Themed to wood, made of wood; checks out
Online forums and at the park I keep hearing about three rides: Orion, diamond back, and mystic timbers, looks very fun and fast wish I would have rode it
Little story time, I was told this was an easy simple ride, so I got in the seat. Some 13 yo (ish) freaked up which made 11 yo me get nervous. I thought my face was going to fall off. When I got home, I felt like I was still on the coaster, I couldn’t sleep from how scared I was. Definitely going to ride it again! 👍
I absolutely love this ride and so does my mom. This ride often kinda reminds me of the Beast which is another one of my favorites.
No joke probably my favorite coster
I just moved to New Zealand recently, Kings island was my home park, I miss roller coasters so much
Hurt my leg last time I was on mystic timbers hurt for a day but besides that this ride is so fun.
I got stapled on it and it hurt. Then I rode it with some room and it was a very good ride
I went on this actually 2 days ago and I was NOT expecting it too go that fast whatsoever it’s honestly a little rougher than it looks the shed is majorly overhyped for it to be some projectors and some scary noises but overall ride is great
They did some upgrades! 3+ monsters, the wait in the shed is randomized, (15 sec-2 min) and a jukebox was added that plays music for the wait!
My boyfriend and I adore this ride! A very unexpected delight of a coaster!
Best coaster ive ever rode. 11/10 got the tree ending as well on my last day at the park.
this is my favorite ride by far. i love wooden coasters, i have a soft spot for the racer and i can respect the beast, but this one was absolutely just fun.
ive rode
-the racer
-the beast
-mystic timbers
-adventure express
-backlot stunt coaster
-orion
-diamondback
-the bat
as well as
-the maverick
-gemini
-steel vengeance
-cedar creek mine ride
-rougarou (was my favorite at cedar)
-magnum xl 200
-the corkscrew
-iron dragon
and this tops all of those, call it preference but it does everything i like specifically at its best. the intensity, the speed, and it doesn't NEED fancy loops or corkscrews to be an absolutely fun ride, THATS how impressive this ride is. 11/10 go in the shed
This is Kings island best roller coaster, nothing but constant speed and this things really hauls, love riding it at night. I was blown away the first time I rode this.
This ride was so fun and super fast the wood coasters also kind of tug alot too
I can tell it looks intense. I love that ride, old memories. I’m going to Kings Island! The Beast!!! It’s my favorite...
Epic ride shed was overhyped
Shed was overhyped but all in all very good theming, etc
My two only complaints was the shed and how rough the ride is
@@thesetwofloofs5397 All that does is kill time by giving riders something to look at while the train ahead is unloaded/loaded. I'd rather be in the open air watching the procedure in front of me.
@@j.r_drums6696 - the key to the best ride experience on this coaster is to try to grab the 1st row, sit up straight, hang on with your hands & lean before tbe curves. You in effect become part of the coaster, not fighting it. Definitely becomes a fun ride - and I'm in my 70's.
@@j.r_drums6696 rough?!?!? The hell
Most underrated night ride!
ENJOY YOUR RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!
Just rode this for the first time the other day and I have to admit it is pretty scarily fast for a wooden coaster, it definitely wants to just rip off the rails and fly away on those sideways parts lol
Such a good coaster. Best in the park.
Phenomenal GCI coaster.
The OG mystic Timbers, prowler, Is way better tho.
@@JesusSaves668no it’s not. Mystic is smoother and more forceful.
People don’t know how fast this ride really feels! It flys
This was my first ever ride at Kings Island and my first ever real like roller coaster ride. I went to the line not expecting much because my whole life at that point had just been Camden Park and county fairs, but when I went through it I was stunned that something like this existed. This one definitely throws you around a bit though, not too much like people say Son of Beast did way back in the day or like some of the other wooden coasters, but there's definitely a little ouch when you hop off. Honestly if I ever go back to Kings Island I'll hit this one again. 8/10
Everyone being pissed about the shed but not me. This coaster absolutely blew me away when I first rode it that I didn’t give af bout the shed lol. Was my fav ride at the park til Orion
I have to admit this look quite interesting
I just remembered i liked the ride when i was little last time i went. Forgot about the drop.
Felt like i was flying.
This ride was pretty cool
The first time I rode I was not buckled in that tight I almost fell out
ur not gonna almost fall out, it's designed to feel like that but still be safe
Shawn
@@katal003 front seat solo riding adventure express almost threw me out as a kid. No joke... Some coasters are jerky and don't have the right restraints for all sizes
You didnt almost fall out. It's called airtime. Its supposed to happen. And you are supposed to feel like ur gonna fly out. Its not dangerous. You are more likely to die by tripping and falling than die on a coaster. People think they almost flew out all the time when really they were not even close to that.
0:57 I remember hearing that ear piercing sound for the first time a warm April 15 2017 whole family’s at kings island waiting to ride the new coaster. 4-5 hours of waiting I get back row best ride ever I’m going to try to ride every row next time I go
This was so dope! Rode it for the first time Monday and wow both rides were awesome but that night ride tho
Just rode this for the first time today... Awesome coaster!
Nice
anybody notice the poster in the station that said “the power to drill through steel… with VENGEANCE” steel vengeance teaser, and on the same poster it said 205RMC, also a steel vengeance teaser
The ONLY thing i didnt like about this ride is the lockdown thing they play in the front entrance of it. Now that freaked me out because i couldn’t hear it clearly so i was thinking actual lockdown for a sec😭😭😂 This ride hella fun though
Rode this today. It was great!
I went to kings island last week and this was actually super fun and terrifying
The ride is so smooth ngl
omg i love this ride so much
Upstop wheels doing some heavy lifting on mystic!
It’s not the Beast, but this ride is FAST and those turns pack a punch....but that shed is absolute garbage. Lol
It’s better than the beast
My # 1 coaster at kings island
rode it the other day and it literally gave me whiplash 😀 make sure to keep your head back i guess!
never had a problem like this on any other rollercoaster, i am only 20
it definetly was a fun ride, i guess i just wasn't expecting the whips and turns
I loved this ride it was so fun🎢😁
Excellent quality ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
I love this ride. Like OMG
XOXO
"Don't go into the shed!"
Why? What's wrong with the sh-- OOOH! COKE!
So cool!!
MYSTIC TIMBERS!!!!!!!!!
Warning you, those hills are a lot ruffer than they look
No the coaster is smooth its just the turns are crazily sharp
One of the smoothest woodies I have ever ridden.
The worst was Mean Streak before they turned it into Steel Vengeance.
The hills are way harder I nearly passed out
@@drewskydew2892 I still say it is one of the smoothest woodies ever made, how can you say it is rough after riding on the beast especially in the back row? THAT is rough.
you just can't handle laterals
Cant wait for RMC to go wild with this thing
why? Its so good!!! Best GCI ever!!
The shed is way better than sitting outside in the sun waiting dor the train in the station to leave
I love the shed
I wish the shed was a two part thing. So you have an initial spot where you see the monster/ monsters and then you have to “run away” from it. Then the second piece makes you feel like you escaped but then reveal it was behind you the whole time. Fun ride but just my tweak to it.
First roller coaster ever when I was like 7-8, at night, during the Christmas season
My favorite ride!
This is a fun one
“Don’t go In the shed. This is a rererestricted area.” That glitch in restricted area is a little funny but cool
i love this ride
The shed always makes me so mad lmao
So you'd rather just sit and look at nothing while they unload/load the next train? Either way you'd just be sitting there might as well have something to look at.
killeridentity Actually every time the train stops at the break run before the shed another train was already going up the lift hill
@@headricktheatre8831 they run three trains.
@@killeridentity I went there on Wednesday and they were running two, but it could just be the day I went, or I never saw cause one was in the shed
Looks pretty fast and relentless.
Scary lol i almost cried 🤣
Top tier GCI
I went on Mystic Timbers yesterday.
i went on this 10 times i loved it so much
This is my warmup
Normally I hate wooden coasters because they beat me up. This one was very smooth, and I highly recommend it.
i sobbed on this ride LMAO it’s fun though
