Honestly his nonsensical dream is a big part of why I love All for One. You as a person fundamentally cannot understand his reasoning, because its so simple yet abstract that it makes no sense for people like us. He was influenced by the villains in comics he read with his younger brother, and he wants to become the worlds greatest demon lord who everyone hates. There is no deeper meaning or symbolism, he just wants to be a demon lord, that's all theres to it. He's one of the best ''evil for evils sake'' villains out there imo.
I'd argue it's relatively simple actually. He's the edgelord teen who never grew out of that phase but actually had the power to back up his cringe. Nothing more, nothing less.

I remember when this came out for the manga readers, most people were mad about Edgeshot doing this due to not having any attachment to Bakugou, but I think that makes his sacrifice more meaningful. Even though Edgeshot has no relation to Bakugou whatsoever, he’s instantly willing to lay down his life to save this child’s life without even giving a second thought about it.
I agree like they’re like “Lets not leave this stuff to the next generation” and prioritize taking care of the kids like how Edgeshot is doing with Bakugo because hes not someone whos close to Bakugo like Deku and All might, but instead hes a hero trying to save the life of a child without a second thought

I really like Alicia’s take on edgeshot’s sacrifice, it makes the scene make sense in terms of being thematically appropriate with the whole passing on the torch idea. It’s still a shame it was done by a character with no story presence but way to change my perspective.
edgeshot is one of the og heroes to say. he fought against all for one in season 3 and bought enough time so tiger and the rest could rescue civilians in order to let all might fight with all his strenght, he appears in the war arc too also getting out of it mostly unharmed. he is on the same league as kamui woods, mount lady and death arms
It still feels very unsatisfying since Bakugo’s death was undone the very next chapter or episode in this case. It lessens the stakes of the arc moving forward and it really decreases the tension of the arc.

And considering this is a retelling of the past by future Deku, it's insanely unlikely the villains will win and that Deku will die. So, there shouldn't really be that much tension or stakes to this whole thing, if you need a main character to die for it. The stakes and tension are in the collateral damage to this world and its characters. And if and how they will fix the world after all this. Not who lives and who dies.

Even if Midoria never had made that remark at the beginning of the series, I think it was pretty clear that this story is going to have a happy ending. My problem is that when Horikoshi revived it Bakugo it breaks the suspension of disbelief that the main good guys may suffer some losses or sacrifices by the end of this war. It shows that Horikoshi is willing to write this war in a way where the stakes are there just for show and don’t feel genuine. It’s kind of like in Fairy Tail when Hiro Mishima writes one of the main characters in the worst position in one moment but follows it up with them getting out of it by suddenly being able to just break the rules of magic. It just feels unsatisfying at the moment and it leaves a bad impression for the events moving forward since my suspension of disbelief that these characters are in peril is lifted somewhat.

He DEFINITELY died but people can be brought back with CPR and fast treatment. AFS just HULKS out and STILL gets throttled by Deku blindsiding him. Things have CHANGED since last round.
Ima say it, while Bakugo’s revival was a bit stupid, I still really like it. Not only does it make sense with Edgeshot’s power and it came with a consequence to himself, it also gives Edgeshot a bit of character.

Given its ability to give and take Quirks, is it a surprise that he would see the world as his? He even took on his Quirks name, suggesting everything the world has to offer is his. And since there's very little good use a Quirk like that could do, aside from removing Quirks for those that don't want them, it was inevitable that he would become so obsessed with being a villain.
Give it time, he will get younger. Also He is drawn with a detailed nose. Thats why he looks a bit different. And yeah he is the classic, evil because he wants to be evil kind of villain. Like Darksied or Freiza or Dio. He is not a A-hole with a goal. His goal is being the A hole

AfO is MAJESTIC in the manga, his vibe and appearance is like a mix of Griffith and Guts
Mirio proving that: 1) his goofy shit is the stuff of true heroism, and 2) he’s packing enough cake to BSoD the most powerful villain in the world.

I’m surprised AFO is using the Rewind quirk but has no control of it. I thought he said he doesn’t take quirks that’s too complex. AFO was inspired by comics? When does MHA take place?
