Dealing with stuck parts is a labor of love ! As you showed, patience is your best tool. A brass wire wheel on a portable drill cleans those splines easely. Merry Xmas!
This IS superior to the way I just did it, it really is because it pulls it true--straight out. But my method worked and without the rigging. I used a rubber hammer--I know, sounds bad, but bear with me. I "tapped" pretty gently as I rotated the prop, each wrap is of course off-set, so as I said, not ideal. But after maybe 50 or less raps, I saw it break free from the seal it had made, then I pulled it straight off. I never hit it hard enough to even slightly damage the prop--but as I admitted, it is not ideal. Also, the prop coming off is NOT going back on, so even with a slight chance of damage, it isn't an issue. I know--you can say it might hurt something else....... Just saying, that's what I did.

Key there is 2 pry bars. Its gotta come off even, if you try with one it just gets cocked sideways and gets stuck. 2 equal prybars and/or equal pressure and it'll come off.

Getting a prop off a saltwater motor is a horse of a different color,LOLL! Cutting them off is the only way!! Glenn P.

How about when the thrust washer behind the prop is stuck!!!.

Put a little bit oil or gazoline on ,,, wait 5 minutes and it will get out easyest !
also you can make it a little bit warm .
