I can't believe it, but I'm going to have to disagree with with you Scotty! For me, the best mats are WeatherTech mats, they're custom fit to your model of car. I live in North Dakota, so our car mats have to deal with snow and ice. When the snow and ice from your shoes melts, if you have regular style floor mats, the melted snow drips over and under the sides of the car mat and gets on the floor carpeting of your car, making it wet and nasty underneath the floor mat. The WeatherTech mat keeps it all in the mat because of the raised edges. You take the WeatherTech mat out, dump it out, clean it out, put it back in, and you're good to go.
you can get a better cheaper weathertech knockoff from findway a entire set for your car costs 99CAN and its made of fabric instead of crappy plastic and the plastic is treated so water just beads off. weathertech is great n all but the price is insane for 2 floor mats...least up here in canada. 160.00CAN for just the front and from findway 100 bucks shipped for the entire car front and rear
You definitely don't want these Manicci Mats. Horrible Chinese like quality! They don't fit, took forever to get them in shipping and they wore out in less than 1 year!
Well, I'm sure he no longer has them. Horrible Chinee type quality. They don't fit, take forever to get in shipping, and mine wore out after less than 1 year. I'm an older guy and not rough on them at all either. Money wasted!
Ooooh. Those Manicci mats would go perfectly in my 02 Ford Taurus Spec Ed. You've been a great help to me and my family over the past few years. I just installed front brakes, cooler intake hose, a thermosta, and changed the oil. I added a can of Restore as well. It's got 219549 miles on it and it runs great!! Thanks again for your hard work.
Don't get them! You'll regret it! Horrible quality, take forever to get in shipping, and wore out and faded in less than 1 year. This is in a car with dark tinted windows and always garaged!
The best thing to do is clean your mats, then go to HD or Lowe's and buy a clear vinyl carpet protector and cut it to the exact size of the mat. It looks very nice, and your mats can't get wet or dirty. Simply wipe the vinyl with a damp rag to clean. I've used them since the 90's.
I just cut out some sections of rubber tarp for my old truck to keep mud and dirt out of the rug until I can refurbish the thing (the rug is still good). The only thing I don't like about using old tarps is that they slide around, but they're essentially free, so I can't really complain.
These mats would be perfect for my mother. I've tried just about all the floor mats i have had the oppourtunity to try on the market and never heard of these mats!! Thank you for all of your advice and finding some amazing products Scotty!! Keep up the amazing videos!!
In Canada, I use WeatherTech mats during the winter, and the fabric mats that came with the car in the summer. Plus the WT's are American made just like my Ford Mustang! 🇺🇸
Scotty--Like many of the viewers below, I purchased a set of Weather Tech floor mats for my 1996 Camry before I got it (purchased new). They're well-made, heavy rubber, require no special treatments and don't show wear. Mine still look good after 22 years of use. And, they come in any color you want as long as its black, tan or grey. When I heard you say the Manicci floor mats were LEATHER, I thought, "Say it isn't so, Scotty!" That's okay for the West Coast and states where the biggest problem is occasional rain, but for the Midwest and Northeast, where it snows six or more months a year, that's a no-go. It works in Texas, too, but they cost A LOT (in excess of $250), which is well beyond most peoples' budgets. In the Rustbelt, they wouldn't last more than a few years with the cold and slush they have to deal with. If the Weather Techs get dirty (say from fast food mishaps, or the kids track in a layer of slush), you just pull them out and hose them off. Try doing that with your wife's Maniccis. They might be the best in your view, but you have to add the qualifier, "For use only in fair-weather States".
Hello Scotty, thank you for providing such great information, I have learned a lot from you. I have to agree with some other commentators who like the WeatherTech mats, they are great for northern climates. You just can’t help tracking slushy, salt-laden snow into your car then having it melt into a puddle seemingly sloshing around your feet while driving. The WeatherTech mats largely prevent moisture from reaching the carpets - I do get little leaks around the sides sometimes, but after using them in my Explorer for 5 years, the carpets are still in great shape. Thanks again for your great videos!
Good ol' Scotty Kilmer. I have come to the point of not only using the advice from these videos, but I am entertained watching them lol. Thanks for all the good advice! Now I know what to get my girl for her new car!
I used a rubber mat that looked like the ArmorAll one but I'm sure was a different brand. Anyway they seemed to work great until I cleaned the car in the spring and found I had trapped moisture under the mat. The carpet was all wet and mold had started to grow. Back to the factory carpet ones for me. Yes, they get wet but they dry out and I've never had mold grow under them.
How can they get away with saying it's leather if it's not? I say this because I was shopping for headboards yesterday and noticed a "leather" headboard for sale which was way too low to be actual leather, and thought about this same thing. Not that I actually have a problem with it because I couldn't care less as long as the stuff lasts.
@@JohnLeePedimore Yes, they are horrible quality too! Mine never fit right and I took them out in less than a year because they were already worn out! Manicci will not answer any emails either. Chinese mats and even worse customer service!
Agreed and perfect for winter. The only problem mine had was the factory clips, which allows water get to the factory mats. I put a dab of silicone over that opening. 13 years and the factory mats still looked new.
Got Toyota rubber matt's with new car, as a driving instructor they got beat up a bit and 150k in still going strong, no holes etc. Like the lining system on these, I just bought some foamy/rubbery garage liner, cut to shape and fitted to footwell, worked OK for 140k and for $20 I was happy. Didn't know these existed or I would have bought them!
Weather tech came in my 2013 mini and they're great especially for alaska winters. My dad has them in his 07 ram 3500, he's had them since 2012 or something and they still look like new
This clean non offensive comment thing is becoming more difficult especially after a rough commute into work. Anyway, I like my industrial tire track Jeep mats. Strong and rugged. But these will give way to the Bedrug soon. Having both might be overkill.
I"m an old man and have bought mats for over 50 years. Weathertech are by far the best I ever owned. Sure they are the most expensive, but they last forever and fit perfect. just my 2 cents.
Cuz hey, your wife's shoes matter! If them shoes are not happy, those feet are not gonna be happy, and we ALL KNOW what it means when the Queen of Hearts is unhappy. Cuz we don't get to play Texas Hold Em.
Weathertech has no equal, I've had them in my Honda Civic over 10 yrs through tough winters and hot summers. They still look new. Take them out in the spring and scrub and hose them off, and in minutes they are spotless.
Yea. I can vouch that the leather foot mats are the best. They are very strong and durable. They can take anything. I’ve had my leather car mats for years and they still look brand new. Every time I wash the car, I’ll vacuum them and wipe them with leather wipes. The same leather wipes I clean my leather seats with.
I used the thick Kraco mats Sam's Club sold for $20.... Wouldn't last 9 months without tearing! I did that for a dozen years!!! One day 10 years ago, threw down about $150 bucks on some Weather Tech's... Still no splits, discoloration, and much easier to clean. It's proved to be the last mat I'll ever have to buy.
weather tech is the popular brand I always see ads for. seat covers & new floor mats are good. If you work around your vehicle or deal with rough elements/beach....
I put a set of rubber Duplicolor mats in my 93 Ford Escort twelve years later the same floor mats were still good enough to transfer to my 09 Ford Focus. I have the Weather Tech generic mats in my wife's Equinox. They were only $45 for the pair and trim to fit. Nothing better than a floor mat you just rinse with water to clean.
I've gotta agree with the other guys below... The Weather Tech mats are the very best mats I've found. They fit perfectly, hold a lot of water /mud / coffee / soda spills, come in a few colors, and you can beat the crap out of 'em. Not cheap, but if you're holding on to your car for awhile- they just make sense.
My 18 year old bmw mats pull off both the luxury look, by being designed that way, and the rugged rubber look, by having the flexibility and texture of PVC plastic after two decades of wear
I've been using Sam Club mats for years. Not as nice as those other mats, but they're cheaper, and they last a long time! Caveat: there is no way to fasten them to the floor, so the dealer complains about them every time about possible unintended acceleration, so keep them away from the accelerator and brakes
I had weather tech in my Acura and they were the best. They are expensive but worth it in my opinion. I’ll check into those manicci. Not sure they will be able to match up to the durability of the weather tech though.
They won't even come close to weather tech! I've had both. When I traded in my Ram R/T my weather tech were still like brand new after 5 years. These Manicci mats wore out in less than a year and never fit correctly. Horrible customer service as well. They will not answer your emails.
Here's the clean comment. I agree. What about WeatherTech. These Manicci's I've never heard of...sounds like something Italian. Oh, and the Vampliers are great! That's a nice useful product...small, lots of leverage good for tight spaces and a tight junkyard toolbox.
Thanks Scotty. I love your channel. I’m just a shade tree mechanic. I love to work on cars. Your channel has helped me many of times. Thanks u for that
I usually use wall carpet for my floor mats. I just recently change them. It sure would be good to have something better in the vehicle. Thank you for all your help with all the different videos I know it takes a lot of work
Scotty, thank you for this video. I saw those mats and thought the quilted part was custom, which is pretty much the only way I've seen car upholstery. I love quilt pattern on anything, I just think it looks cool and "high end" (I know, I'm weird). I bought my dream car today, thanks to you and a long story I won't get into, a beautiful silver Lexus ls430. Now I know what mats I'm getting soon.
Good fitting floor mats are one of my pet peeves... They MUST fit correctly and stay put. They can be dangerous if they don' t. Love watchin all your videos. Thanks for for all the great honest information Scotty!

Scotty, how about the Weather Tech mats?
I used the thick Kraco mats Sam's Club sold for $20.... Wouldn't last 9 months without tearing! I did that for a dozen years!!! One day 10 years ago, threw down about $150 bucks on some Weather Tech's... Still no splits, discoloration, and much easier to clean. It's proved to be the last mat I'll ever have to buy.
My Weather Tech's are great except they drain to one corner and (offensive verb)'d up the carpet underneath
I have Weather Tech front and back floor mats, and one for my trunk. Great, quality products that fit my car like a glove.
I agree, tough and they're custom fit.
And from what I understand they're still made just outside Chicago.
scotty always comes clutch with brands , you deserve a business scotty

I like weather tech IMO have 3 sets
weather tech is the popular brand I always see ads for. seat covers & new floor mats are good. If you work around your vehicle or deal with rough elements/beach....
DL Lambert I do neither I have them in my 2500 chevy lx570 aka land cruiser an a Lexus rx350 they keep carpet looking new
Scotty thank you for all your years of help! You saved me money and you saved me from getting ripped off $$$! Lol your the best!
Manicci monday
I bought the armor all for my 91 Jeep. Those Manicci mats are beautiful. I never saw those before. Thanks Scotty! :)
They fit perfectly, hold a lot of water /mud / coffee / soda spills, come in a few colors,
and you can beat the crap out of 'em.
Not cheap, but if you're holding on to your car for awhile- they just make sense.
My 18 year old bmw mats pull off both the luxury look, by being designed that way, and the rugged rubber look, by having the flexibility and texture of PVC plastic after two decades of wear
Good info. Scotty - loved your tips on dirty catalytic converters - I followed through on them.
Great floor mats for the money. Durable and stays in place.
Thanks Scotty. I love your channel. I’m just a shade tree mechanic. I love to work on cars. Your channel has helped me many of times. Thanks u for that
Scotty convinced me to buy a Honda Accord 2.0. I love it. It gets above average smiles to the gallon.
I just bought some car mats from a place called Diamond Car Mats, and theyre the absolute nicest mats ive ever had. Cant beat them for the price
WeatherTech in my wife's car and Husky Liners in mine. Between hiking boots, cleats and snow shoes, we need something tough and easy to clean.
Experience speaks your channel is my automobile Bible God bless you. I am in the rugged Jeep territory none fancy here.
Those mat are a dream. I can use a birthday gift this month for my Grey Suzuki xl7 2005
Hi from Puerto Rico an American Territorie, The Manicci floor mat system are really beautiful, keep the good work Scotty,
I usually use wall carpet for my floor mats.
Always look forward to watching a Scotty Kilmer video to learn about different vehicle products or how to fix something
Good fitting floor mats are one of my pet peeves... They MUST fit correctly and stay put. They can be dangerous if they don' t. Love watchin all your videos. Thanks for for all the great honest information Scotty!
I'm the same! Don't get these! I learned my lesson the hard way. They never fit correctly and wore out in less than a year!
Yeah that's the best sponsor video of carpet car mats I seen explain Scotty
Thanks Scotty. I have a Lexus like yours and the Weathertech mats just don't cut it. Too small. Gonna check out the Manicci mats!
Lately I've been amazed at how fast floor mats wear through. When you're puttin the miles on they really bomb out in months, not years!
These won't last a year! Mine sure didn't!
