Kathryn helps us understand 'Withdrawers, in stage 2, are on their leading edge of their unknown constantly, they are doing so much and we need to help them to make it as palatable as possible, validating that they have a steeper hill to climb.' We need to learn to let them teach us to make their experience OK. My experience with some withdrawers is what I call the 'wrung out dishtowel effect'. They can feel exhausted by the close of the session and I need to validate their climb and risk taking. Thank you so much, Jen and Kathryn, for expanding my portal with my couples.
love this!
This is helpful.
As always, your wisdom rings true in my heart. I can feel myself growing as a therapist and I thank you both for sharing this!
