Hi! I’m considering Marklin Re460 but this model is already not in stock :( because of this i’m going to wait for re-release product. I couldn’t find Pininfarina rogo printed on the train nearby boggie. But this point is marked on Roco’s Re460. Pininfarina rogo is not marked on Marklin Re460? And how do you think about this sound quality comparison with ZIMO or ESU? Thx!
This was a 2020 model, so it's probable sold out at Märklin, but some dealers might have some left. I think the sound quality depends more on the speaker than the decoder. The Märklin one sounds better in my opinion, than the Roco ones ( I have two EL18)
@@thetrainroom thx! I figure it out after your mention. I think Marklin speaker is louder. I guess that’s why I mistakenly thought the sound quality was good. I can’t find left stock of 39461 😂
Mine is new and on the way to Australia, It will be for the IC 2020 cars and I have a full 9 car set from Roco including the AC driving trailer. I use the Roco close couplers for the set without issue but my existing Hag 460 is too close coupled so I had to use a standard coupler between the loco and the first car. I can travel at some speed over double slips with the control car leadiing. The new version seems to have more sounds than any other Loco I have but maybe the same as my Marklin Re620 just the 460 has many more station announcements. Thanks for the info about this Loco and you did very well considering English is not your first language, well done Ausgeziechnet!
I found the problem. On the version of cars I have they built a wrong part, which causes the derailrement. Unfortunately I was told of the problem, long after the warranty period was over.
Center pickup is unique to Märklin, but many european brands offer model compatible models. The middle contact are just come points in the sleeper, and not that visible like similar system like Lionel or TrixExpress.
Märklin is very common in Germany, like 50% of the market. The same models are actually sold for DC system under the brand Trix. The brands are not consider top brands in Europe, it's just that the price level is on a different level compared to US brands. Märklin is a bit more pricey than others, but no where near exclusive small series producers.
@@thetrainroom I see, thanks for explaining. Maybe I will get used to these third conductors in the middle of the track. I bought some Trix track and a used DC controller just to test my old trains. I brought them from the UK to Germany when I emigrated.
I also have problems with my Roco IC2000 carriages derailing alot, and I am using them on the c track radius 5. Have tried towor three types of couplings, like the regular common european type and of course the Roco's own coupling.
hello, nice review. i like the swiss colorsceme a lot more than the norwegian one, almost looks like a different lokomotive. why is there so much gap between your cars? i assume the wagons are from roco, so why not use the roco "kurzkupplung". works for me with all of my ls, acme and piko models. or are they live (stromführend)? an other question: are you able to get all lights/sounds with the esu ecos? on theyr website it is stated that you have "only" 8 functions for märklin motorola format, a friend of mine told me he has 24 functions. so which is it? thank you and good evening.
When used the Roco Kurzkuppling, the train derailed even more there was also a lot of decouplings. I have ordered PIKO Ganzzugkupplung. I will fix light into them at some point. Märklin Motorola supports only 4 functions, but with additonal addres more fucntion can be used. You have to upgrade your ECOS to the latest version to use 32 functions on MFX. I'm using MFX and DCC. Only some old locomotive use Motorola.
@@Sturmisch I talked to my firend Philip and he told me that there was a construction error in an batch of carriages, which will lead to derailement. Unfortunately I got the explanation about 5 years after the warranty voided. If the channel was bigger I could have made more pressure than.
Very cool video :) I’m about to buy the Trix version and your review convinced me! I already own 2 other version of this locomotive from Roco and I’ll be curious on how they compare to each other.
I have two EL18 which are mechanically the same. This Märklin version is much more powerful and quiet to run. I still havn't had time to fix the IC2000 which is the train it is supose to run with some point
Eine tolle Vorstellung. Klasse gemacht. 👍
Letzte Woche gekauft, ein Traum die Re 460.. besonders die SBB Bahnhofsdurchsagen sind top
Thank You!
Good Video!
very nice video I have the older 39608 model

@@thetrainroom thx:) but i’m planning to pull nightjet cars and ic2020 cars. Thus BLS cargo is not proper😂😂

Is the center pickup normal these days? I don't like the look of the middle contacts between the tracks. Is this something unique to this brand?

If I would start over, I would not go for third rail, as there is much more choice in DC.

You should consider replacing the wheels with AC- wheels maybe

Een mooie video heeft u daar gemaakt, met goede test resultaten. Nu is de 39463 uit gekomen gaat u deze locomotief ook no testen.
Groeten eip.
Mechanically it's the same locmotive, so the review will still apply.
Dumme Frage: Gibts weitere Märklin Loks mit so umfangreichen Sounds wie hier? wohl nicht viele(?)
Keine Ahnung, aber es steht in der Anleitung, die man frei runterladen kann.
I require the train full powerful, running smoothly and fast enough, another function is not important. 03.01.2023
That model or similar would be what are you looking for. It's able to pull a train which required two locomotives before.
boring voice and boring comments
Please post a video of a good model railroad product review, then I will do it better next time.
