7:48 As a proud boomer who remembers when wasd came into vogue _('97, Fong, Quake)_ -- The problem is aiming. As aiming systems and control systems became more innovative and advanced, the popularity of FPS games skyrocketed. Then came, the Halo aiming circle, the CoD hip spray and ADS snapping/FOV modifiers. Even Goldeneye had autoaim from the hip. In CoD there was ADS time, sprintout time, and more decisions factored into a game that couldn't be solved with a simple aimbot. Same with Halo between the trinity of Grenade/Shoot/Melee, and the Dash and Grab map control/resource management which was common at the time. Aiming used to be such a chore, you could AD spam _(later drop shot in CoD)_ out of most fights. _Not_ exactly realistic but you do what you do to win given the limits of the user interface. The problem is, certain players had grown accustomed to raw mouse input being the entire game. When Halo came out, the game had no _"skill,"_ according to the strict CS crowd that spent hundreds and thousands of hours knowing which corners to hold and mastering clicking heads with their fancy mice and finding every hardware advantage possible. _(Although everyone instantly recognized the Pistol broke the rest of the great game design, so you could aim your way out of almost everything with it)_ The problem with a game that's _"Solvable"_ with raw aim input _(or an aimbot)_ is the fact that skill based matchmaking turns into a banal affair. It becomes a cut throat sweat contest where people are obsessed with aim, and even blame the outcome on aim -- And you cant blame them. _+Pro Tip: One of the best ways to playtest and review a game is to swap its controls and play it left handed. You can tell if a game is more about how good you are at the controls, or the game itself - thank you Shigeru Miyamoto_ _____________ There are other major changes to Call of Duty, namely the map design going from MW1, to 2, to MW3 when maps eventually turned into rats nests where you were guaranteed to be exposed from some direction. This gives even the most casual player the opportunity to get a kill. CoD4's maps were designed as 3x3 lanes that could be held down in team tactical. This was not fun for people who didn't know how to completely dominate maps. Epic games released a really great paper/how-to on map design for unreal engine... but that was probably 15 years ago by now. It's all about information and odds -- Think Chess _(perfect information)_ Poker _(very limited information)_ and a call of duty map where you have 1 doorway to hold vs 3. Back in the day, this knowledge was very useful for reading maps for competitive play -- IE a Van is high cover, blocks sight/information, a car is low cover that provides information. As a boomer, I've come full circle from the gratifying accusation of aimbots constantly to not playing in years and being absolutely terrible at aiming. I still follow games and game design more than actually playing them.
You absolutely nailed it.! After playing CoD every year (50+ aged gamer) I’ve decided that the buggers will never see a single penny from me ever again. SBMM was the nail in the coffin for me. Thanks for your review, glad I didn’t buy it 🙌😎

When characters died, instead of being sad, upset, and wanting revenge, i felt indeifferent. Whichever developement team worked on Vanguard couldve avoided this buy adding more missions with the characters in them, allowing us to grow a bond, similar to how many felt when Roach and Ghost died in MW2 and when Soap died in MW3.

_(Although everyone instantly recognized the Pistol broke the rest of the great game design, so you could aim your way out of almost everything with it)_
The problem with a game that's _"Solvable"_ with raw aim input _(or an aimbot)_ is the fact that skill based matchmaking turns into a banal affair. It becomes a cut throat sweat contest where people are obsessed with aim, and even blame the outcome on aim -- And you cant blame them.
_+Pro Tip: One of the best ways to playtest and review a game is to swap its controls and play it left handed. You can tell if a game is more about how good you are at the controls, or the game itself - thank you Shigeru Miyamoto_

There are other major changes to Call of Duty, namely the map design going from MW1, to 2, to MW3 when maps eventually turned into rats nests where you were guaranteed to be exposed from some direction.
Impressive you typed that
Dude, 100% this video is my first I've seen from you and it earned you a like and subscription bc that shit was too funny 🤣

You absolutely nailed it.! After playing CoD every year (50+ aged gamer) I’ve decided that the buggers will never see a single penny from me ever again. SBMM was the nail in the coffin for me. Thanks for your review, glad I didn’t buy it 🙌😎
Yeah vanguard is deff not the best but for me its looking better than mw and cw allthought it dosent need much to be better than them. I have said that i wont buy the new cod for the past 4 years but somehow i find a way to buy the new cod again and again xd I need hel :D
Agreed
@@tupla1122 so you are part of the problem...cold war campaign and zombies were dope, vanguard multiplayer is okay but that's it, zombies mode is utter shite
@@ElPatron42069 i know im part of the problem you dont have to say it to me xdd.
@@tupla1122 I actually liked MW a bit better, although I haven't played CW.
Oh God this game is trash. Thanks papa peli for suffering through that just to entertain us.
Bro we smoke hella weed and watch your videos you kill us with the wholesome things you do!!! Ty
Well, this was the most entertained I have been by a COD video since the Black Ops 1 days. *Tip of the hat to you*
I have no clue why people hate this game. I may not have played it before but from all the gameplay I’ve seen it looks awesome
Vanguard is really good Call of Duty game, that gets way more hate than it diserves. My only complaint with it is that the story was too short. Even though it was six hours, there werent enough missions which lead to a lack of feeling at certain parts.
Best commentary iv heard all day GG
My grand pap told me story’s of quick scoping krauts in France. Can’t forget the slides with the no recoil BAR. Man I miss him every day.
I love the random minute of talking about your plug/hairdresser
Pelican is an absolute chimney I love it
