Very much needed. Because I think some beliievers and including myself at times think we are fighting when we are resisting temptation. In the book of Galatians 5:17, For the flesh [a]sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. And this feels like battle honestly. The immoral desires in our flesh we want to do. That’s why no one is good. However, the Holy Spirit intertwined with our spirit causes us to resist those temptations. At times it’s like a tug a war. And times we slip up, but we don’t ever give up. We endure til the end.

That's kind of bad context. Yes, that's true in part...but at the same time we're still on earth. We still get attacked by the evil one and we still have to deal with ungodly people out there. This is why the Armor of God is important. Staying close to God does not equal to using what God says to spiritually defend yourself. One is passive and the other isnt. That's why there are lots of good meaning praying people who don't take what God tells them or shows in the word to be on the OFFENSE
I attended a church that taught these things, but it never sat right with me...I thought there was something wrong with me. But then God lead me out and I began to question many things I was taught, and that is when I started doing research and discovered the New Thought, WOF and NAR movements and realized this was thick in the church, and that many things I was taught was unbiblical! I praise God for revealing His truth to me through His Word. Now I know, there was a reason why those things didn't sit well with my spirit.

Every human being has 3 enemies which include the flesh(spiritual), this fallen world and the enemy. When the enemy put thoughts in your head do not converse with him. Speak scripture to him like Jesus spoke scripture to him when he fasted for 40 days. My flesh(spiritual) can get me in trouble when another human being (spiritual flesh) devises a attack against me. I am learning to talk to God in these situations.

To beat the devil you first have to know right from wrong. One of main goals of the devil is to make right wrong and wrong right. The second way is resist his offers. The devil can only offer you something but not make you take it. For example im married and if a woman comes on to me that is an offer from the devil. He can't make me take the offer.

We submit to God and resist the devil. The final battle with Satan belongs to the Lord. Until then we fixate on Christ and renew our minds with the Word. We are strengthened when we put on Christ and withstand against the schemes of the devil.
Matthew 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men." Jesus tells us we cannot lose our salvation. Pure salt, without additives, cannot lose its flavor. Jesus then asks a hypothetical in this question: "If" salt loses its flavor...how would it be seasoned? Salt was used in the old testament and stood for the preservation of a covenant and meant it was forever....indefinite. It was used for sacrifices (which points to Christ)....it was said by Abijah that David is King by a Covenant of Salt between God and David (2 Chronicles 13:5) which again points to the person and work of Christ. A covenant of salt meant the Israelites were God's chosen people forever. When Jesus Calls us the salt of the earth, He is saying all who place their faith in Him are sons and daughters of God (John 1:11-13). Psalms 97:10 "He preserves the life of HIs saints forever..."
Question... How do we fight against people who are operating in the power of demons or demons who have binded themselves to human spirit. Demons alone will flee with the name of Jesus and the Word of rebuke. But connected to a human spirit, they dont because we have no authority over the spirit of a person.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you. If I want to fight an angel, just one of them could take me out easy. 2 small angels can take out Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities out with no problem if sent by God.
Just curious Corey…..Since you always calling others devils and demons, do you cast out devils? (Not counsel) cast them out?? Can you discern when a person is a witch? Are devils subjected unto you???? Or do you believe that casting out devils was just for the 12 Apostles also? 👀
The bigger question is do you cast out demons ,and where do you cast them out to , the Bible says that he returns back to his previous home and finds it empty ,so do the vessel the demon was in ,is it now fill with the holy spirit or are you just emptying a house ( person) and leaving it empty ,?

I doubt any demon will visibly materialize in your bedroom, but even if one does it does it's under no obligaion to obey you -- a sinful human being (just like me) -- just because you "command" it to do something in Jesus' name. That's nonsensical NAR/word of faith/charismatic teaching. It's also dangerous. As Corey pointed out, even the archangel Michael didn't try to fight or directly rebuke Satan, he left it to the Lord. You can resist the devil by following scripture and leaving things in God's hands, but you cannot actively fight Satan or successfully command him to do anything.
