If there is no hell, there is no Judgement. If there is no Judgement, there is no point in me suffering denying myself. Let me just live how I want to and be happy. But that's not the case! Jesus spoke about hell, outer darkness, weeping and gnashing of teeth, and condemnation more than ANYONE ELSE in The Bible! To believe hell isn't the same as Santa. To deny hell is to DENY JESUS! The problem is that many professing believers claim to be able to discern Truth from almost-Truth -- yet they are unable to interpret the scriptures correctly. For example, anti-Trinitarians (like T.D. Jakes) or Universalists (like Carlton Pearson) who claim to be Christians.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 talks about “a time when they will not endure sound doctrine…” Matthew 24:10-13 talks about, “many will fall away…and many false teachers will arise…” We are witnessing this time! He was my pastor in the late 90's and I respectfully warned him when he started having a HEAVY focus on Jesus' sacrifice being for all people's sins. Carlton hadn't gone off the deep end yet, but a number of us could sense it. He eventually got the point that he couldn't handle the thought of his grandparents (who were not believers) burning alive in the Lake of Fire, forever.
It's heartbreaking to see so many denying the truth. But, then again the scriptures warned us that this would be the case in the end times. I never heard of Carlton Pearson until July of 2023 and when I heard him preach it was hard for me to believe he was Christian and believed in the same gospel I do. Carlton's views on the Bible sounded similar to one of my atheist co-workers views on the Bible.
Carlton Pierce was huge in the 1990s early 2000s was on Trinity Broadcasting Network alot had 60,000 member church ⛪️ but he lost everything in 2005 after a sermon where he came out against the idea of hell. His congregation fled by the tens of thousands

Bishop Carleton Pearson was appropriately handled by the Church according to the Scriptures for his false teachings. I'd been one of his followers since Azuza until he converted to The Gospel of Inclusion. I had to repent today because I let my grief over his illness and death cause me to not dig more deeply into his false teachings. I had read his books and listened to him being interviewed about his beliefs. It wasn't until a few days ago I went to RUclips and listened to his sermons and lectures about Inclusion. I couldn't believe the horrible things he said about our Bible, Beliefs and Christ. I was shocked and appalled. I went to my Facebook activity log and deleted everything I had to say in his defense. We better stand firm on the truth and defend it without apology no matter how much we love who a person once was especially if they are misleading others.
Anyone who debates the validity of the Word really has not experienced God Himself. Because anyone who puts their trust in The Word, no matter who published it, The Father will keep His promises. His Word goes out and does not return unto Him void. The real experience is in the Spirit, not theology or intellect. Glory to the Most High that He can be found wherever we search for Him.

There were individuals that went to Carlton Pearson 1 on 1 to persuade him to repent and turn away from this heretical teaching. Carlton loved to play the victim and only focus on people who he perceived slighted him. But over and over again I can see videos of Pearson himself being underhanded and nasty because people disagreed with him. But I will take zero criticism from the likes of William Murphy or Jamal Bryant who are mean, nasty and brutal to blacks who disagree with their political leanings. WOW.... didn't realize Pearson had gotten that far off. I attended a couple of Azusa conferences in the late 90's. The last one I attended, I honestly questioned if he was real. I was discerning something off about him a few years before he embraced this new doctrine. In hindsight, it's possible he was already drifting that direction.

This is why context is important! Revelation is apocalyptic imagery! The visions are symbolic! It’s not for one to create esoteric interpretation such as “hell follows you”. In Rev. 6:8, Death and Hell (Hades) are presented as personified powers in that *death* was a rider and *hell* “followed death”. Paul uses the same apocalyptic approach in Rom. 5:12 as he presents “Sin” & “Death” as personified cosmic powers that infiltrate God’s original created bliss, and by the fault of one man, they “enter” and “reign”. Their presentation of these cosmic forces as personified powers doesn’t negate their reality. However, I assume you are also aware of the many debates regarding Hell/Gehenna/Hades which what you’ve posted doesn’t prove that Hell is a physical place or spiritual place (whatever that is suppose to mean). One interpretation could be the realm of the dead, and the other to merely mean the grave. Also, “thrown into Hell/Gehenna” could relate to a fiery judgement in the annihilation sense by which Jesus utilised that imagery. John in Revelation states that Death & Hades will be destroyed. This doesn’t mean the realm of the dead, or the physical/spiritual place of Hell will be destroyed. Rather, utilising apocalyptic imagery, personified death and hell (the grave) which will be defeated at the coming of Christ when he returns with the Resurrection. This still doesn’t disprove the excerpt shown that the “Hell” imagery which is understood today has platonic origins (Dante’s inferno) which is what the scholar suggested.
Carlton Pearson came to our church and preached back in the early 1990s. He had just been married. I don't know if it was his first wife or not. She was with him as well. What was interesting was that Carlton really never mentioned God or Jesus or anything concerning the scriptures. I remember this as being a bit odd at the time. Over time I began to hear his views from others and understood. Why does it seem that people who get the biggest platforms for speaking and preaching are often the biggest heretics and hypocrites???

He was my pastor in the late 90's and I respectfully warned him when he started having a HEAVY focus on Jesus' sacrifice being for all people's sins. Carlton hadn't gone off the deep end yet, but a number of us could sense it.
He eventually got the point that he couldn't handle the thought of his grandparents (who were not believers) burning alive in the Lake of Fire, forever.

Evidence really doesn’t matter to a hardened heart. I used to think that you could convince people with evidence, but I underestimated the power of the devil to deceive. When someone is living under the devil’s deception, there is no amount of evidence that you could present to them that would change their mind.
You do know that the Bible isn’t where we got our beliefs from, right? Jesus predates the Bible. David predates the Bible. All of the prophets predate the Bible. The gospels are witness testimonies of Christ. The majority of mainstream historians and scholars do not dispute Jesus’s existence. Nor do they dispute the existence of his disciples. He and his disciples are actual historical figures, whether or not you want to admit their existence of not.
Jesus describe hell on several occasions. And the Apostle John mentioned it in Revelation as the final designation of those who have rejected God. You seem to be under the belief that the Bible is some fairytale book with make believe characters. If that’s your thought process, then there is no point in debating with you.

Jesus does not send people to hell. It is unrepentant sin in a person's life that sends people to hell. Disciples of Christ are called to warn people that hell is REAL and so is HEAVEN. The choice is yours. Die in your sins, he'll is your eternity. Choose Jesus, you will gain eternal life. We would that none would perish, but the truth is many will perish because of the choices they make. 😢

I never heard of Carlton Pearson until July of 2023 and when I heard him preach it was hard for me to believe he was Christian and believed in the same gospel I do. Carlton's views on the Bible sounded similar to one of my atheist co-workers views on the Bible.

Bishop Carleton Pearson was appropriately handled by the Church according to the Scriptures for his false teachings. I'd been one of his followers since Azuza until he converted to The Gospel of Inclusion.
I had to repent today because I let my grief over his illness and death cause me to not dig more deeply into his false teachings. I had read his books and listened to him being interviewed about his beliefs. It wasn't until a few days ago I went to RUclips and listened to his sermons and lectures about Inclusion.
I couldn't believe the horrible things he said about our Bible, Beliefs and Christ. I was shocked and appalled. I went to my Facebook activity log and deleted everything I had to say in his defense. We better stand firm on the truth and defend it without apology no matter how much we love who a person once was especially if they are misleading others.
Anyone who debates the validity of the Word really has not experienced God Himself. Because anyone who puts their trust in The Word, no matter who published it, The Father will keep His promises. His Word goes out and does not return unto Him void. The real experience is in the Spirit, not theology or intellect. Glory to the Most High that He can be found wherever we search for Him.

WOW.... didn't realize Pearson had gotten that far off. I attended a couple of Azusa conferences in the late 90's. The last one I attended, I honestly questioned if he was real. I was discerning something off about him a few years before he embraced this new doctrine. In hindsight, it's possible he was already drifting that direction.

This is why context is important! Revelation is apocalyptic imagery! The visions are symbolic! It’s not for one to create esoteric interpretation such as “hell follows you”.
In Rev. 6:8, Death and Hell (Hades) are presented as personified powers in that *death* was a rider and *hell* “followed death”. Paul uses the same apocalyptic approach in Rom. 5:12 as he presents “Sin” & “Death” as personified cosmic powers that infiltrate God’s original created bliss, and by the fault of one man, they “enter” and “reign”.
Their presentation of these cosmic forces as personified powers doesn’t negate their reality.
Now, from a scholarly standpoint, what the last individual speaker was trying to relate was that hell throughout the Old Testament wasn’t a place to go, neither was heaven for that matter etc. He was saying where the notion of this dualistic platonic understanding of heaven and hell began

Sheol
In Hebrew thought, Sheol is the realm of the dead, a shadowy place where the souls of the dead go, regardless of whether they are righteous or wicked. It is often described as a pit or an abyss. Key characteristics of Sheol include:

Gehenna

Appreciate these scriptural references, many of which I am aware of. However, I assume you are also aware of the many debates regarding Hell/Gehenna/Hades which what you’ve posted doesn’t prove that Hell is a physical place or spiritual place (whatever that is suppose to mean).
One interpretation could be the realm of the dead, and the other to merely mean the grave. Also, “thrown into Hell/Gehenna” could relate to a fiery judgement in the annihilation sense by which Jesus utilised that imagery.
John in Revelation states that Death & Hades will be destroyed. This doesn’t mean the realm of the dead, or the physical/spiritual place of Hell will be destroyed. Rather, utilising apocalyptic imagery, personified death and hell (the grave) which will be defeated at the coming of Christ when he returns with the Resurrection.
This still doesn’t disprove the excerpt shown that the “Hell” imagery which is understood today has platonic origins (Dante’s inferno) which is what the scholar suggested.

Carlton Pearson came to our church and preached back in the early 1990s. He had just been married. I don't know if it was his first wife or not. She was with him as well. What was interesting was that Carlton really never mentioned God or Jesus or anything concerning the scriptures. I remember this as being a bit odd at the time. Over time I began to hear his views from others and understood. Why does it seem that people who get the biggest platforms for speaking and preaching are often the biggest heretics and hypocrites???
