Karachi Bakery Fruit Biscuit Recipe:
Butter (soft) - 80 gms
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Sugar (powdered) - ½ Cup
Vanilla Essence - ¼ tsp
Rose Essence (optional) - ½ tsp
Maida (All-purpose Flour) - 1 Cup (120 gms)
Baking Powder - ¼ tsp
Cashewnuts (small bits) - 15 nos (2 tbsp)
Tutti Fruity - ¼ Cup
Custard Powder - 2 tbsp
Milk - 1.5 tbsp
Cardamom Powder (optional) - 1 pinch
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, whisk the butter, ghee, sugar and flavouring essence until light and pale for about 3 mins.
2. Add all the dry ingredients and gently mix to combine.
3. Add the milk to bring together a dough, do not over mix.
4. In a plastic wrap/ cling wrap, place the dough in the shape of a log. Roll up the wrap to seal it. Tap and shape into rectangle.
5. Place in the refrigerator for 30 mins, until firm.
6. Preheat an oven at 180C, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
7. Cut the prepared dough in 1.5 cm thickness, smaller rectangle pieces along the length.
8. Place them with sufficient space between.
9. Bake for 12-15 mins until light golden and allow to cool completely.
10. They can be stored for 2-3 weeks in an airtight container.
Cooking Tips:
1. Only butter can be used in this recipe - 100 gms. We’ve used a combination of butter and ghee to enhance the taste.
2. In the absence of rose essence, a little extra cardamom powder can be added.
3. Milk is added to adjust the consistency.

As someone that grew up in Hyderabad eating Karachi Bakery's Fruit and Cashew Biscuits, I'm so Happy you decided to upload a recipe video. Thank You so much!
I really wish they would ship to other countries 😭😭
So different from the rest you are simply the best
How can be done without oven?
Feel sorry for this generation as they are born with commercial biscuits.. Am an 80s kid who's nostalgia is fresh baked biscuits sold in Tins in Mumbai. Nothing can come close to that aroma, that taste and that crispness. That's the OG nostalgia.
Hi Sanjna!, Your command of the Tamil language is truly commendable. Initially, I presumed you were from North India or a non-Tamil-speaking culture, but Tamil is incredibly charming 😍.

I think karachi bakery has pineapple essence.. custard powder gives the vanilla flavour. Fruity smell of the biscuit comes from pineapple essence.

Karachi Bakery biscuits available these days are really bad. They use Trans-Fat hydrogenated Palm Oil (Vanaspati/ Dalda), and hardly any real butter. Palm Oil dalda is cheap, you see. Not only is it bad for health, it also leaves an annoyingly bad slimy layer in the mouth. Your recipe thankfully uses real butter and ghee, so it must be way better!❤
