***** Yea they used Rockman that Bostons guitarist tom schultz had made. They would sometimes record the leads, and then re-record them in a room so it gave it a natural reverb. The amps are debatable, but I know if you get the pre-amp you can make a lot of amps sound like peace sells. RIP sounded kinda.... Meh.
exxxxxcellent. Oh, youtube, guitar-only.. fucking kickass. we couldn't have expected shit this cool in 1990. Dave, you're the best guitarist of the big 4.. lose the God shit, eh?
It's easy enough to get this tone, I've come close to it with a zoom and dod fx peda and just a marshall 100 watt, but I could never quite get the same tone because my guitar sucked and one other thing, this is two rhythm guitars.
Dude who posted saying "lose the god shit, eh?" Seriously dude, its his own life not yours. We don't know what he's been through and if he's happy being a christian then who are we to tell'em to stop it? I'm an atheist, and I don't care if someone is christian or any religion, as long as Dave Mustaine still writes good music I couldn't give much or less of a shit if he believes in God.
@tbro2k7 Hardly heavy indeed, almost no bass, but just sharp thrashy rattling badassness. Fuck heavyness, thats for the bass players. WE WANT SNARLING THRASH TONES!
Wow, never thought dave playing was so dirty. I mean, his solo is sooooooo good, but I think he sucks a little playing it: I mean, there' s too much gain, sometimes you can' t even understand the notes he' s playing, and he makes too much noise on the other string. Compare his style with marty: marty is so clean, you can understand every note he' s playing
Might be, but please take into consideration that this is from Guitar Hero or Rock Band, so they cut together all the interesting guitar parts from two players to make one track.
My favorite part 0:00 - 6:34
Dave Mustaine- 'Saying no to scooped (wimpy) guitar tones since 1981'
FACT: Whenever you hear Dave Mustaine play guitar, a demon gets his wings.
Paired this with Nick Menza's live drum track in the background Ears = Blown.
thanks a lot for the video ! =)
fav !!
Thankss dude very helpful if u want to play this like dave
I prefer the tone on peace sells more than RIP.
Yes, i wish i knew the equipment they used for it.
dusch888 There's tons of stuff on the 25th anniversary Peace Sells album. Explained all about the stuff they did to make the album sound like it did.

@Frostdaddy88 I don't need to learn anything actually, but that song is genius too.
@Frostdaddy88 Well thats YOUR opinion but you cant deny that it has heavy influence therefore leading me to believe it is.

@tabmaster66 You dont. Impossible.
Dislike
sounding heavy is pretty easy you just drop your tune
@Frostdaddy88 Hardly heavy? Go seek a clinic!
Man there are a few sloppy cuts in this track. Pro Tools has spoiled us all.
