I'm 63, new to retinoids, and love this one! Been using every 3rd night and now moving to every other night. Thanks for the review. I love the texture, have not noticed anything unpleasant but I like a dewy feel 😊
I had a look at the ingredients list. Ethylhexylglycerin is usually added at 0.1% as part of a paired preservative system with Phenoxyethanol which is typically added at 0.9%. The retinol is immediately before the ethylhexylglycerin. Tocopherol is rarely above 0.5% and in this product I think it’s less. So if you reverse engineered this product, you’d probably start with retinol at 0.2%. By the time it converts to retinoic acid, the amount would be lower and that’s ok in this type of product, typical of non-disclosure of ingredient product type.
After using the ordinary formulations, I think I prefer this formulation....As you said, a reliable brand and that can also make a huge difference!!!

I am 25 and I am really interested in experimenting with actives, specifically Retinol and Niacinimide. I’ve done a decent amount of research and I think those would be the most effective for my skin. I was planning on going to Sephora and getting some expensive serums but I saw this at Walmart and I sort of impulsively bought it lol. It definitely makes my skin a little drier, so far I only use it at night and every other day. After watching this video though I know I used WAYYY too much lol 😂 But at least I know it’ll last me longer, now. I agree, the texture is AWFUL lol. I am interested to see how it changes my skin over time, especially when it comes to acne breakouts. Thanks for the informational review!

There are literally thousands of OTC products from moisturizers, wrinkle reducers to dark spot creams. I could go on and on. What products should I really be using on a daily basis? Naturally if I don’t have dark spots I’m not going to buy something specifically made for dark spots. I just want smooth glowing skin without the dark circles and wrinkles under my eyes. I’m a white 56 year old female with no skin issues. I’m really loving your channel so could you recommend your absolute number 1 moisturizer, dark circle cream and eye wrinkle cream? I’m now using Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Max at night after watching your video. So far I like it. Thank you for your expertise on these products. Several years ago, my plastic surgeon recommended that I use a Buff Puff on my face (mainly due to blackheads on my nose). Great video sir. I just started adding moisturizer to my bald head & just picked up this exfoliating cream. I've never really used anything on my head since I was a kid but now I want to start to. Is this a good ointment with the moisturizer to use on my had? I'm not skin bald with a razor but it's super close.

I really liked the resurfacing cerave retinol and I really like how it feels on my skin. I think i might just stick with the resurfacing one instead of the skin renewal one.

I remember using differin gel not sure if that is comparable to a retonoid. However I got a perm and received major burns to my scalp so will be super careful with this even though its a retionol

While the basic advise I hear is cleanser, treatment , moisturizer, then SPF, I would like to hear your opinion on applying those product , is it fine to put retinol cream after toner , then Peptide moisturizer ? or either one of those after the toner ? , Keep safe Doc 👍

I used L’Oréal retinol . Why is it even though I never used it in my neck . My neck would become itchy two days after use and become red if I touch it. I understand what you said with baby skin . I could not touch my face even though it did not itch but it would tear

I feel like the renewing variant is geared more towards anti-aging and the resurfacing more towards evening out the skin. Even on the website they don't mention anti aging as a benefit for some reason. Could the retinol concentration differ?

I wish I had known what a wonderful product it was long ago. I would go with blue still! Licorice root extract is great for hyperpigmentation. 👍

the only actual big issue i have with cerave is the lack of information about the concentration of the active ingredients, especially when it's an ingredient that is known to cause irritation.. a little suspicious, a little disingenuous..

Philippines I don't peel from it I'm using it not for whitening as what it's intended for but I use for breakouts/acne problems it's actually the only face soap that works for me. So, is it safe for me to use retinol if I'm using a kojic soap? You're response will be really appreciated 🤞

Hello, Dr. Sungai! What are your true thoughts on hyaluronic acid? Is it even worth the money? Even in products that say 100% pure hyaluronic acid, you are most likely receiving it in its salt form, sodium hyaluronate. From what I understand, even after being broken down, hyaluronic acid isn’t easily absorbed into the skin and most of it just sits right on top or just under the skin and never reaches the dermis where we produce our own HA. I’ve heard that in certain environments where there isn’t much moisture in the air, and since this acid wants to pull moisture from somewhere, it starts to pull it from our own skin and dries us out worse in the long run. This has all left me so confused.

Serum and cream works the same, but most common they use serum

Female here but after about a month of watching a lot of these my guess is to use it at night and only on the upper cheek and forehead. I say that because I hear not to put on skin the same day you exfoliate or pluck hairs.

Yes retinols can be used regardless of age and sex! If there are pimples use blue if non purple will be perfect

The purple is anti-aging and the blue is for smoothing post acne marks.
Both are used for anti-aging. The active ingredients are pretty much the same. Ive used both. I say if you have combo/oily skin then use the Resurfacing one. The purple one to me is a bit heavier. I like the resurfacing one myself but both are wonderful.
@@michelletidler6773 Most derms do recommend the resurfacing one. I've seen a couple also recommend the renewing one but more often then not they also tend to recommend the resurfacing more.

After watching you, I have started using olay retinol. Because its good for beginners and its easily available in my country. So far its good and not greasy. Hi! I use tretinoin (.025-- I'm sensitive!) on my face, but am looking for a gentle retinoid for my neck. Would this be good?
I've been using the Resurfacing one for about a month and am REALLY liking it. I'm in my mid-40's and I have sensitive skin and rosacea so I did learn that i had to space out treatment to every second or third day to start rather than every day because it did make spots on my face very sensitive when I started using it. But now my skin seems to have adjusted and I really like how my skin feels in the morning after I use it. Looking forward to see how I feel about it in another couple of months.
