My questions is in this video a brief mention was made on using the tracker kill switch for letting guess drive instead of lockboxes cause the boxes give away to thieves that its a rental?? If that is the case, do wait until you verify the guest and then activate the car And doesn’t this take away some of the passive part of the work required that the lockbox allows, cause you can’t really set it and forget it. Please clarify Thx RC
For Getaround you don't have to check license or do anything when the guest arrives at the vehicle, they can do it all themselves with the app. For Turo we do contactless handoffs and do activate the kill switch until the guest sends their license photos (as required by Turo). Unlocking the car only takes less than 30 seconds so it's very easy.
I was excited for the summer on getaround was doing well till a month ago 1 car was wreck and my other 2 car have just been sitting around kinda frustrated

I don’t agree with the clean rule you have, just like anything if you keep up with wiping and cleaning your cars will last longer and get you better response from your customers.
On Turo I 100% agree. But on Getaround it is very difficult to do. A guest can rent a car for an hour and trash it. Before you even have time to clean it, another guest can rent it with no buffer in between. It is a very annoying system and makes it very difficult to keep multiple cars clean. At least with Turo you can set parameters that fit your schedule.
This is a great side hustle for small businesses along the highways and near crowded areas. It could really decimate the legacy car rental companies.

what happens when you need mechanical work, do you do your own mechanic work?
We do our own mechanical work. Saves us a lot of $$$ in the long run.
How much was security deposit
I've heard it can be anywhere from $500-$3000

We were paying $50 a spot per month. Maybe a little expensive, but it was at a good location: the intersection of two major interstates.
